The staff were really lovely. The restaurant itself is nicely presented. I was a little disappointed with the food though. I got a spicy duck main, there were 4 thin slices of duck in my meal, which was REALLY disappointing, it's like they'd chopped up chunky peppers to make it look like there was more meat in it. I can honestly say the sauce was identical to the sharwoods tikka sauce from a jar too. Which again was really strange and disappointing. Our order was wrong/we had things missing, but that's because the waiter didn't write anything down and just tried to remember. It was also very strange when we tried to pay, they had a card machine but wanted us to pay cash, they let us pay half cash half card at the end. Very strange from the staff. I've wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time, but it was a solid 5/10.
Arnero – Manchester City CentreThe food was excellent and the staff are very friendly and there service was 100 per cent . I recommend this restaurant I will go back next time I'm out in Manchester.
Arnero – Manchester City CentreThe food was really nice and also the cocktails especially the mango margarita. We will definitely be back again.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreThe food served at the restaurant is very delicious. There were endless items that were served to us and the service provided was just beyond our expectations. All the restaurant was fairly very busy but everything was just perfect and everyone was served very well. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Authentic Indian Food.
Arnero – Manchester City CentreFirst time at Chakalaka and will definitely be back. Staff and food were fantastic.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreFantastic evening great food and atmosphere well done for creating a part of South Africa in the heart of Manchester
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreThe atmosphere was amazing, the food was delicious, huge portions and excellent value for money. The staff were engaging, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a great time! And I would definitely come back again.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreThe best food in Manchester bar none. Amazing service and great every single time!
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreOrdered the chicken curry which had a tiny cube of chicken in and the rest was potatoes so asked the waiter if he could get me a new portion with some chicken in. He was very polite and said he would but the second portion wasn't much better and still only had a couple of tiny flakes of chicken in it. Drinks were tasty and have had nice food here before but on this occasion the food was a let down.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreWe visited during the 50% off food opening promotion. Unfortunately we were advised that the happy hour drinks deal could not be used in conjunction with that, but understandable that they have to make some money. On the whole, I'd say the menu prices are a bit too much unless there is some sort of deal. ~£12 cocktails and £9.50 for two tacos feels a bit steep and the bill can rack up quickly. However, with the 50% off it was great value and really delicious food. The service was mixed - our drinks order seemed to get forgotten a couple of times, but one of the team members was absolutely lovely (sadly I didn't get his name).
Boogalu – Northern QuarterVisited so many times and never disappointed. Amazing place with amazing food. Staff are lovely too. We will be back!
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreTerrible :( me and my friends were so excited to visit after seeing the place advertised on Manchester Finest, but everything about this place was just bad. We had to wait ages to be seated, we then had to wait a further 10 minutes to receive a menu. When we had decided what we wanted to eat, it took another 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Took a good 25 minutes to receive our drinks. After this time, the waitress came back and told us the lamb taco was unavailable after we had already ordered it which I didn’t think was very professional. Our food arrived after 50 minutes, it was very small servings, cold and to be honest, quite bland. No cutlery on the table, so we had to ask our waitress for cutlery and napkins. Took a while for our plates to be cleared, when we asked for the bill there was an automatic service charge on which didn’t seem fair as the service was not good. We left feeling dissatisfied and still hungry so swung by Wing Stop on the way home.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterExcellent service, food as always!! Every time we come it is excellent!! Love it, well done guys x
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreFood was brilliant. We ordered 2 taco dishes (lamb and beef) and a loaded nachos. All were super tasty, the beef was really good. The lamb tacos were crispy and had a nice dip to go with them. We didn’t order any cocktails but they did look good for those who had ordered them around us. Service was lovely can’t really complain! We went at the time of the 50% off deal. I don’t think we would be willing to pay full price otherwise. The dishes aren’t huge, ~£9.50 for 2 small tacos which is quite overpriced… I’d say the £6.50 mark would be more affordable, but again, worth the price at 50% off! Would probably return and recommend to go for the weekly deals. Great food and good service. Thanks!
Boogalu – Northern QuarterGreat little place. Something different, portions were big and the food was delicious. Friendly staff and attentive service. Really good value for money
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreDreadful. Took 15 minutes for a waitress to even take our order and when they did, our drinks arrived after our food which took half an hour to come itself. When drinks did arrive, they were ridiculously overpriced for the size of them. Food was cold and tacos soggy as though they’d been sat in the kitchen for ages. Portion sizes are a joke. Plain nachos with salsa took half an hour to show up. If you’re considering a visit to Boogalu, my advice would be to spend your money elsewhere.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterLovely food and good service here
