Booked a table for four online for Saturday January 4th. Although we arrived a little late due to traffic , we were shown straight to our table. Our orders were taken quickly and the drinks and starters arrived shortly afterwards. Service was outstanding and we were able to get to the theatre in good time for the 7:30 show.

Pre booked for pre theatre lunch 2nd of December We were not on the system The gentleman in charge was not happy about this Plenty of tables available but I know the place is usually very busy So not a very good welcome Minestrone soup gorgeous spaghetti arabiati enjoyable The other 4 all enjoyed choices from the same menu The service was a little indifferent even though the place was very quiet The disabled toilet not available The bill was over charged by £20 which was corrected ..not explained We left feeling that we hadn't been Very important and althoug food was good The automatic tip was going too far Questionable if we will return with so many good Italian restaurants at hand

Fantastic food first class service and an absolutely great menu if your going to the Palace Theatre which is just round the corner. Would definitely recommend.

A fabulous meal. All 4 of us very impressed with the pre Theatre 2 course set meal for £16.95 each, so much so that we added drinks, desserts and coffees too!! The staff were tremendous. Excellence all round. We'll be back soon.

Went for dinner here yesterday evening. I had a pasta dish and my partner had steak. Lovely food, polite staff with a great service. Will return again!

Excellent venue for a pre-concert meal! Menu looked limited (2 courses before 6.45pm on concert night) but was actually very extensive. The food was super (best lasagne of the year in my case) and the fish portions were generous. The leek and potato soup was most unusual (made with lentils also?), being very tasty and not in any way boring. Service was good considering how busy they were. It was a full house but was not particularly noisy.

We had a lovely meal before we went to the theatre . Our table was waiting for us the restaurant was very busy but service excellent. We really enjoyed the food it is extremely well run and the staff really care about the service and the food . We are definitely going back

We went for a meal here before seeing a show at the palace theatre. We had a 2 course pre theatre menu. The choices were ok. I would definitely recommend booking as it is a very busy restaurant. It was good value and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve meal at Gio’s. The table we had booked was waiting when we arrived and the staff took drinks orders soon after we’d settled in. The starters came not long after we’d selected them, and all were delicious. The main courses also arrived quickly and were really good - some of the best Italian meals we’ve ever tasted. Throughout our visit the staff were pleasant and polite. All in all a great place to eat.

Service and food was of a high standard. We had the pre theatre deal before going to the Palace theatre, which is good value. Would definitely eat here again.

When we arrived we were not on the booking system, and told that we were early as we had booked 11.45 am, apparently they don’t open until midday. However, the maitre d allocated us a table and we had a nice meal.

Food fab as always and had a lovely time with my family however, Service was rushed and staff a little brisk due to it being very busy perhaps?

Lovely food and pleasant service. I had seen some less than complementary reviews of high prices and poor service. This was not our experience, and found the pasta dishes - particularly the caneloni with great good value and very tasty. Would book again.

Lovely place, we always come before the theatre. Food is lovely and the staff are wonderful.

Excellent pre show venue for a meal. It is very busy and the staff are under pressure but nonetheless very pleasant and helpful. I would suggest booking a table to avoid disappointment. I won’t pretend you are going to get fine dining but the pre show menus is acceptable and great value for money. All in all a pleasant pre show experience. You could pay more and do far worse.

ALWAYS come here prior to a show at the Palace. It never disappoints. The service, given how busy it always is, is outstanding. The food quality this time was also first-rate (occasionally 'only' very good!). Pre-theatre menu is really excellent value, but just beware of cost of drinks, which perhaps are rather high. Also be aware service charge is added to bill (supposedly optional, but definitely well worth it), but then card transactions ask if you want to leave a gratuity. Though I'd recommend you book in advance, they seemed to be able to accommodate those without bookings, despite it being seemingly 'full'.
