Tops Buffet Restaurant – Manchester City CentreLovely lunch for 2 gluten free and one dairy free diners. Staff coped well with boisterous toddler and food was excellent. Lovely potato soup with truffle oil followed by delicious gluten free sandwiches. The bread was the best we have ever tasted! Thanks guys. We don't live in Manchester but we will definitely be back and can't wait to try the afternoon tea other people were tucking in to.
Tea42 – Manchester City Centrevisited in April for pre theatre dinner had booked. kept waiting 40 min for table then shoved in back room. no drinks offered had to badger for service. waiter thought it was funny we only had limited time to eat manager positively rude when i chased order. i complained via website and was not offered an apology. would Never use again and i work for major company and have told events organisers not to use.
Giovannis – Manchester City CentreWent to Cote 2 weeks ago, and despite a mix up with the bookings, the staff were super professional and helpful and we were treated to a couple of freebies. The food was absolutely delicious and such good value for money that there are about 10 of us going back tonight, I would definitely recommend.
Cote Brasserie – Manchester – Manchester City CentreGreat iconic Manchester pub with good food and friendly staff. Enjoyed a great pint of Timothy Taylor on my last visit!
The Oxnoble – Manchester City CentreLovely food! The staff were really helpfull even though the restaurant was packed. Very authentic curry and the light starters were to die for. Loved the decor! Will be returning very soon!
Thaikhun – SpinningfieldsI’d heard good things about ‘Beef and Pudding’ and it didn’t disappoint. The menu, although heavily weighted to the meat lover had plenty of choice no matter what your palate. Torn between the Beef Pudding and the Beefham Tower, I opted for the Tower and it didn’t disappoint. Undoubtedly the best burger and chips I have had. My wife went for the Brisket wrap from the express menu, perfect if you are looking for a quick and tasty meat fix. 5 out of 5 for this new comer and I’d recommend you give it a go!
Beef and Pudding – Manchester City CentreAttended the opening last night and was impressed immediately. This venue is modern, warm and welcoming. It is a great concept also, there seems to be more and more Caribbean places opening around the UK. We sampled food and drinks of a high quality and would definitely go back for a meal soon. I believe this has the potential to have a successful future in Manchester. Good luck to all at Turtle Bay!!
Turtle Bay – Manchester City CentreWell I thought it high time to see what all fuss was about regarding Solita the northern quarter burger joint. I was expecting an uber cool hip joint, however I was disappointed as it looked like an old chinese restaurant that had a lick of paint. I soon as I entered I was sliding around on the super greasy floor! There is a 100% chance of some litigation when someone slips a disc or cracks there head open on it. Far more concerning is why is the floor was so greasy, why isnt it thoroughly cleaned? Perhaps it is health hazard in terms of germs as well as an accident. The place was busy so we ate upstairs, I would recommend choosing downstairs. The waitress was friendly, helpful and pleasant. I really liked the menu, great choices with a bias toward MEAT. We both had the Solita burger which I assume is the house signature burger and it was spot on. Perfectly accompanied by a craft American beer. The price was right too, around £12 each if I remember. Would I return, yes I would if hungry and nearby. However I would much rather try many other similar eateries in the city centre. Not a patch on Beef and Pudding, however Solita may not have the budget of the New Moon Pub Co that run that venue. Sort that floor out!
Solita Bar & Grill – Manchester City CentreChangos Burrito Bar is in a great spot on Oxford road in Manchester city centre. I has a cool and funky vibe and I thought my slow roasted pulled beef burrito was first class, filling and excellent value at £4.95. We ate in with a couple Jarito's drinks. This will be my spot to fuel up when in town!
Changos Burrito Bar – Manchester City CentreWe love the Lowry which is definitely Manchester's finest hotel. We always stay there when in town. 5 star service, a unique contemporary ambience, spacious bedrooms with everything one requires and a 2 minute walk to the boutiques of the ciry centre. We have always looked forward to breakfast in the beautiful restaurant and keep promising to eat there at night. On this stay we learned the restaurant had been renamed the River Bar and Grill, with a new menu and chef. So it was a no brainer to eat there. We were very glad we did. Carpaccio of beef and tuna, lobster and steak washed down with an excellent Crotes Hermitage. The waiting staff were what you would expect from a hotel like this. They made educated recommendations which we listened too. This has to be still one of the best looking restaurants in Manchester. Just a pity it's the Irwell not the Mississippi river it looks out over!
The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel – Manchester City CentreWent to this restaurant with a friend prior to the theatre and had a fantastic meal, beautifully presented and excellent value for money. The decor is very classy and the waitresses so friendly. Well recommended.
Cote Brasserie – Manchester – Manchester City CentreIt's nice to walk into one of the new breed of restaurants in Manchester, without being looked up and down to see if you are dressed "correctly" or have the relevant length beard. This is the second time I have been to Red's and it didn't disappoint. I wanted a quick lunch with colleagues and we had an hour to order, eat and pay. As soon as we sat down our drinks orders were taken, but being midday on a Friday, we all opted for sparkling water, although I did almost cave in to the great looking Craft Beers on offer (the water was lovely none the less and I was given an option of ice and lemon) We all ordered the Bacon Double Cheeseburger and I opted for the Sweet Potato fries over the skin on fries. After no more than 10 minutes, the food arrived and looked fantastic. Whilst my colleagues opted to tackle the mammoth burgers with cutlery, I decided to tackle mine the traditional way, only just getting my jaws round the double burger. The burgers were cooked to perfection, pink in the middle and succulent throughout, complemented by the bacon, cheese, lettuce and sauce. The brioche burger buns were excellent and did a great job of holding everything together. My sweet potato fries were really tasty and something I will definitely be ordering on my next visit. No time for pudding and the bill came within 2 minutes of asking. We were out within 50 minutes but at no time felt rushed. The staff were attentive, maybe a little too much at times, but I would not hesitate to recommend Red’s to the business diner, looking for great quality and value food.
Reds True Barbecue – Manchester City CentreWe went to Saigon Lotus last night, I would highly recommend going. After arriving very late for our booking the staff were so lovely and friendly, they explained the menu and dishes and suggested their signature dishes. For starters we ordered, chicken wings, chicken skewers and spring rolls. For mains we orderd Pho dac biet as a broth and as a dry dish, both were incredibly delicious, all was super tasty.Well done you have got the mix spot on, we will be back and will be sure to recommend you. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Saigon Lotus – Manchester City CentreNipped in today for a coffee. Turns out it was their opening day. A stunning looking venue in an art deco style. Perfect location by all the best shops. French food and wine that I am very much looking forward to trying.
Cote Brasserie – Manchester – Manchester City CentreNow that was a fine and very satisfactory luncheon. Beef and Pudding has just opened it's welcoming doors and has it spot on. Plenty of beef as you would expect, with a British heritage rather than an American one which pleased me. I had a excellent beef and venison suet pudding and my wife the Beefham Tower burger which was the best burger we can remember having. Looking forward to working our way through the menu. The Manc Plank and The Manchester Meet will be next on the list, however that will be a dinner date or I would need an afternoon nap with meat sweats!
Beef and Pudding – Manchester City CentreI booked a table for Saturday 22nd March 10 days in advance. When we arrived at 5.50 pm there was a large number of people - about 15 - all standing waiting to be seated. ABout 10 past six a party who had booked for 5.30 and were still waiting decided to leave. At this stage people who had booked for 5.45pm gave up and left. As we were attending the theatre and time was running short we left at 6.20 still waiting for a table. What a disgraceful state of affairs. We had stood for half an hour and never even got to see our booked table much less have a meal. We then had to go and find somewhere else before our show started in a rush and very disgruntled. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
