Best place I've ordered from in Manchester, clean friendly fast food. Thanks for the good food Idys ;)
Idys Pizza and Curry Place – NorthendenI am really disappointed with the quality and taste of food in this restaurant. If one has never had Persian food and is a novice, well can't tell the difference anyway. But for me as Persian, jojokabab isn't persian, made the Indian way which is totally unacceptable (call it tikka not jojekabab). Mirzaghasemi is tasteless and not the way should be. Sorry to say that this restaurant like the one in Cheadle, is going bust unless the chef starts cooking real food.
Pardis Persian Restaurant – NorthendenPleasant surprise.. Delicious.. Must give this a try!
Pardis Persian Restaurant – NorthendenOMG. Can't believe the quality and variety of the food. Lots of yummie veggi options. I am in heaven. Only live down the road. My friends all had kebabs and rice. Can't say enough. You really don't want to miss this place.
Pardis Persian Restaurant – NorthendenWas sent Special fried rice for delivery. Opened it to find absolute miniscule amount of meat in the dish. Basically I just paid nearly £6 for rice!!!!!!!! Phoned them up and was told in a condescending way thats "thats how special fried rice is done" Like i was some idiot who has never had the dish before. Cutting corners on quality and ingredients but still charging premium prices stinks to high hell. They were not helpful one little bit, did nothing to try and solve the problem. I was just fed a "like it or lump it" attitutde. Definitely will NOT be spending my hard earned cash at this rip off merchant again. I advise anyone thinking of ordering from here to double check your orders before you leave the shop to make sure you havent been fleeced like I was.
Oriental Express (Northenden) – NorthendenFar too salty.
Lotus Restaurant – NorthendenWe had an ok meal here on 3 March 2013.The restaurant is nice and traditional with a comfortable if slightly old fashioned interior. When we arrived they were hoovering the carpet which was a bit annoying as there were a number of customers seated. The food was nice. We had poppadoms, chicken rani and a fish tikka starter followed by a chicken curry dishes with rice and nan bread. The chicken and fish were lovely as were the accompaniaments. All the portions were a bit small except the bolied rice.We were not impressed with the service which was slow and we did not not find the staff friendly. Some of the food was literally thrown down in front of us. When we asked for sweets they said they did not have any on a Sunday other than kulfi which they said was not like ice cream? I ordered a coffee which I sent back as it was overly microwaved. The replacement was similarly microwaved and was smoking like something out of a Harry Potter film. We would not go back, the food was nice but there are other nicer restaurants in the area with good service and a better choice.
Jai Kathmandu – NorthendenWe had a really great meal here on Saturday 23 February 2013. We are not from the area but spotted this as we were driving around looking for Indian or Asian food. Although it was quite early (6pm) the restaurant was fully open and we were given a warm welcome. The interior of the restaurant is really lovely with a rich dark red decor, comfortable seating and nice lighting. The menu had some favourite Indian dishes but also some specials that we hadn't heard of.We (me and my husband) had poppadoms with chutneys. The chutneys were especially nice and they were quite large portions. For starters we had a boti kebab and a mixed grill. Both were excellent; nice sized portions with lovely chicken/meat and salad. The lamb on the mixed grill was particularly excellent. For our main courses we had a chicken masalla dish and a traditional vindaloo with aloo. For accompaniaments we had a sweet peshwari nan bread and some plain rice.It was lovely, fresh tasting, hot, beutifully served and really delicious. We really enjoyed our dinner. I would also like to mention the service which was great, the staff seemed genuinely nice and helpful. I asked for a rum coffee and the waitress made a special point of checking which rum I wanted. We thought that everything about the restaurant was nice and we both said we would go back if we were in the area again.
The Palatine Bar and Restaurant – NorthendenOrdered takeaway on Saturday night was told that the food was really good. Time of arrival was supposed to be 30-45mins turned up around 1hr 10mins the food was cold forgot the poppadom's which we had paid for. Rang the restaurant to advise as the driver has just left to be told they'd discount our next order!! Told the woman on the phone to get the driver to return but surprise, surprise he didn't turn up!! Very disappointing and we won't be returning or recommending to anyone else!!!
The Palatine Bar and Restaurant – NorthendenI love Thai food and was really looking forward to my food arriving I ordered sticky rice with Thai red curry with cod and thai spring rolls. What was delivered was less than pleasing to the eye so you can imagine its taste. If you like farmfoods products expect a lower quality from this restaurant. It cost thirty pounds for our complete order and the best thing I could do with it was put it straight in the bin as did my wife with her order. Definitely not money well spent! This restaurant is operating under false pretences as the food is inedible and definitely over priced. The best thing is we have deleted this from our takeaway list , we saw we tried and we definitely found this restaurant lacking .
Dalat – NorthendenDO NOT bother eating in at this place, we ate here on friday night and waited over two hours for our main courses and they still missed 2 people out when they eventually arrived. Seems like the takeaway side of the business is prioritised over the restaurant. Would never go back.
Dalat – NorthendenOrdered dinner from here and was pretty shocked to find a massive, dead bug floating on the top of my jungle curry. Rang the restaurant and spoke to the manager who sent someone to pick it up, however they did not bring a replacement. 10 mins later I get a phonecall and it's the manager telling me I'm a liar and that there was no bug. She refused to either refund the money or give me a replacement meal. I will never be eating here again, the food may be cheap but the service is atrocious and clearly it's not the cleanest of places.
Dalat – NorthendenAmazing altogether amazing food and staff were very friendly
Jai Kathmandu – NorthendenLovely food, when we had it, but they never pick up the phone now so what is the point?
Lotus Restaurant – Northendenbeing Iranian my self its such a shame to see such a nice place has been let down by the chef ,the service wasn't that good back home this wouldn't even be accepted as a sandwich bar never mind the restaurant shame
Shiraz Restaurant – NorthendenA great experience at Shiraz! Lovely staff & interior design. The ceiling was beautifully done. Food = sooo tasty. Can't remember their names but the mince meatball starter was yummy. Excellent sauce. Was warned about plum stones but none present. Aubergine & garlic dip has an amazing taste. Main courses were also delicious. Lamb casserole = very distinct & the lamb was cooked to perfection. The glasses & cutlery were very clean. Sparkling glasses. The staff were very attentive & even took a picture of us (we hand our cameras out quite a bit since we were photographing the food, haha). Would definitely go back!
Shiraz Restaurant – Northendenwe always visit the Jai Kathmandu when we fly out of Manchester every year. we have always found the staff very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere cosy and inviting. The food is absolutely MAGIC!!! and is one of the highlights of our year. With living in the north of Scotland we are not able to visit as much as we would like to. I thoroughly recommend the Jai Kathmandu, where every customer is special.
Jai Kathmandu – NorthendenI tried Jai Kathmandu for the first time last week after reading the many recommendations. It was a very cold night, snow everywhere but as soon as we walked inside it was lovely and warm. They had made a big effort to keep the large dining area heated which was appreciated. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. the food was amazing, unlike any other Indian restaurant I have been to. We had some poppadums, tandoori lamb chops to start, I had Karahi Lamb which was amazing, the rice and the naan bread lovely too. I would recommend Jai Kathmandu to everyone and will definitely be going back!
