Went to this restaurant with a friend prior to the theatre and had a fantastic meal, beautifully presented and excellent value for money. The decor is very classy and the waitresses so friendly. Well recommended.

Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. A real 'olde worlde' pub. atmosphere. Best of all 'dogs are allowed'.

My partner and I went to The Stables for my birthday,Tuesday13th May. We both had exceptionally lovely meals. The atmosphere and service is also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any body, and we will definitely be returning. A truly wonderful culinary experience !!!!

It's nice to walk into one of the new breed of restaurants in Manchester, without being looked up and down to see if you are dressed "correctly" or have the relevant length beard. This is the second time I have been to Red's and it didn't disappoint. I wanted a quick lunch with colleagues and we had an hour to order, eat and pay. As soon as we sat down our drinks orders were taken, but being midday on a Friday, we all opted for sparkling water, although I did almost cave in to the great looking Craft Beers on offer (the water was lovely none the less and I was given an option of ice and lemon) We all ordered the Bacon Double Cheeseburger and I opted for the Sweet Potato fries over the skin on fries. After no more than 10 minutes, the food arrived and looked fantastic. Whilst my colleagues opted to tackle the mammoth burgers with cutlery, I decided to tackle mine the traditional way, only just getting my jaws round the double burger. The burgers were cooked to perfection, pink in the middle and succulent throughout, complemented by the bacon, cheese, lettuce and sauce. The brioche burger buns were excellent and did a great job of holding everything together. My sweet potato fries were really tasty and something I will definitely be ordering on my next visit. No time for pudding and the bill came within 2 minutes of asking. We were out within 50 minutes but at no time felt rushed. The staff were attentive, maybe a little too much at times, but I would not hesitate to recommend Red’s to the business diner, looking for great quality and value food.

We went to Saigon Lotus last night, I would highly recommend going. After arriving very late for our booking the staff were so lovely and friendly, they explained the menu and dishes and suggested their signature dishes. For starters we ordered, chicken wings, chicken skewers and spring rolls.For mains we orderd Pho dac biet as a broth and as a dry dish, both were incredibly delicious, all was super tasty.Well done you have got the mix spot on, we will be back and will be sure to recommend you. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We have always had excellent food and the staff are always very friendly. We think the lunch menu is very good value and the desserts are fabulous. We visit most Fridays and often have coffee on the terrace on a Saturday or a Sunday.

If you have a young family AVOID this restaurant! The reception my family and I received from the waitresses on our anniversary celebration was disgraceful, cold and unfriendly. It felt like they didn't want us to eat there. We felt very uncomfortable when we were eating, continually staring at us. They made a point of coming over making small talk after I stared back at them. When we were leaving, no goodbyes or smiles but still they made a fuss of other couples and small groups - regular patrons. The food wasn't anything to write home about either :/ It ruined our night and we won't be eating there again.

Want something different this is the place. Great food, clean happy atmosphere, staff are very friendly. Loved the Jerk Chicken with dumplins followed by home made Coconut cake.

Have eaten here regularly since it opened. Fantastic food, great value, friendly, happy staff. Very clean. We prefer to eat in and take a bottle of wine. The staff can't do enough for you. Would highly recommend it.

Called in during the week for a meal with my husband. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food didn't disappoint either. All round, a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

The Jerk Chicken I had was the real thing... Wow to the taste!! Worth every penny, best Caribbean in Manchester. Getting my dinner there tonight!!

I had my favourite sea bass which was cooked to perfection the staff were friendly and attentive without being in your face. I will be going again soon.

Been to Smiths a number of times and enjoyed. Last night I ordered the lamb hotpot but I can say it lacked the lamb and wasn't anything special. Staff didn't respond to the comments when told about it. Very disappointed in them. Don't order the 24hr slow cooked lamb hotpot. Have something else instead.

Give a wide berth to this sub-standard boho pseudo gastro-pub. The Met would like you to think that they are way ahead in the gastro-pub stakes...stop-press....they're not, by a long way, Forget what you see online if you go on a Sunday, all that is found is mediocre and bland fare. Boring starters of heavy carbs unseasoned salad and insipid smoked salmon did not bode well. Cheddar, Spring onion and mushroom crumble sounded inspirational: in reality looked like something the cat had thrown up...and tasted similar (one would imagine!). When we complained a superb 'super salad' replaced it...what we didn't know was that we would have to pay even more for the inconvenience of a late meal .....said salad costing even more than the atrocious crumble! AND STEER CLEAR OF THE BURGERS! stale bread purporting to be focaccia, offering medium and well done burgers....both instructions ignored and burgers came incinerated...dry, unseasoned...do far better at home! so save yourselves £100 and cook at home for your nearest and dearest...at least find somewhere that can cook decent fare at decent prices!

This place is never a disappointment. You can eat at a good number of Chinese restaurants and find yourself thirsty later on because of the excess salt in many of the dishes. That will not happen to you at The China Cottage. The new décor works too. We recommend it totally.

Tim provided the food for my 40th birthday bash - Lancashire hot pot complete with crist and red cabbage, Thai green chicken curry wih fragrant rice, and a goats cheese and butternut squash lasagne - absolutely delicious. Food delivered to our house around 6pm complete with heating dishes, crockery and cutlery. Went down a storm with all our guests. Tim picked everything back up this morning. Amazing food and really great service, excellent value for money and will be visiting the restaurant again very soon. A definite recommend!

Stayed in Salford April 12th 2014 to attend Johnny Mathis concert in Manchester, after concert returned to Salford, found Chung Ying in Eccles Old Road and called for a takeaway. Warm, friendly welcome. Restaurant looked superb, wish I had gone earlier in the day, would have loved to have eaten there, however, I know for the future. My takeaway did not disappoint. Superb. Thank you very much. I highly recommend the food.

Dined at Nicks, Westhoughton tonight, excellent meal, worth every penny, food top class. Service excellent, staff very attentive , would not hesitate to recommend Nicks, or dine there again myself. Cannot praise too highly...
