La Lupa – Stalybridgevery nice restaurant very basic but food second to none which is reasonably priced this is somewhere that would also be great for the kids as they do lovely pizza freshly made i went without the kids but they made me one to take away the staff are very welcoming and i would definitely return ...
La Lupa – StalybridgeCozy restaurant and fantastic food. Staff look after you and its makes a really pleasant evening. Loads of choice for food and its tastes great. Its worth more than one return visit.
La Lupa – StalybridgeThe manageress at this pub is the rudest person I have come across. After saying we would have a wait of 15 -20 minuters, we waited one and half hours. As soon as we had finshed our meal (three lady pensioners) she said "I want this table and I want it now, go finish your drinks at the bar" we left the table and paid our bill but we won't be returning whilst she is in charge.
Golden Lion – SwintonWow great value for money and quality food!! Recently new mouth watering dishes have been added on to the menu which I have tried all of them and couldn't fault. Decoration sleek and warming atmosphere with lovely staff been coming here for over 10years. Never a problem with Buraq. FANTASTIC !!!!!!
Buraq – WiganUsualy frequent the Brinsop on a Friday evening. Food is excellent, the service a little slow but the staff are friendly and helpful. Good clean surroundings. We like it.
The One, formerly The Brinsop – WesthoughtonCroma has the best pizzas in town and that has been seconded by my daughters!
Croma – Manchester City CentreOn visiting the award winning Metro Fish Bar in Bury I ordered two portions of their premium succulent chicken nuggets and chips. I was served a portion of chips and six pebble like overcooked cheap chicken nuggets covered in what appeared to be bread crumbs. I bit into one, the outer shell was hard and burnt. The filling was indescribable but appeared to be reconstructed chicken of some description. I returned the meals and advised the staff that they were inedible. The manager quickly arrived on the scene and apologetically explained that they had run out of their normal chicken nuggets and had purchased a replacement form the local Asda store. This explains their Asda Smart Price appearance. I was given an alternative meal. If a restaurant runs out of a food product then that meal should be taken off the menu. They should not substitute that meal or part of a meal with a cheap supermarket substitute. If I pay restaurant prices then I expect restaurant food not back street chippy food. I will no longer be visiting this establishment and I suggest you think twice before you do.
METRO Fish Bar – BuryVisited last night for a family celebration after reading the reviews. Yes busy but couldn't understand why?? The atmosphere is more like a café than a restaurant. Service was disorganised and we had to continually wave for attention. The food we ordered was basic Italian fayre which you would expect to be delivered right given that pizza is the corner stone of Italian food. However totally under cooked which ended with a huge mush in the middle of the plate after trying to eat round the edge. Didn't like to complain as didn't want to make others feel uncomfortable, but was finding it difficult to enjoy. Two of the others ordered pasta dishes which weren't much different in size to a starter they had ordered earlier. One dish was a pasta marinara which was somewhat bereft of seafood. The house wine ok but distinctly average and the choice was limited, wines listed were basic and a little pricey. At no time at all did the staff come over to ask if everything was ok with our meal or take time to ask if we would like additional drinks therefore service not great. We were offered desert to compensate. Overall our personal experience does not recommend a return visit or a recommendation to friends.
Casa Nostra – WesthoughtonA little gem.Superb food.
Refresh Cafe Didsbury – DidsburyWe've been here for 55 mins before our order was taken, we did ask to do it earlier but our response was, "you'll still have to wait". I think for a busy Saturday night, more staff should be employed, or at least give the hoverer behind the bar a few more jobs to do. Ps. My wife is very drunk from lack of food ;)
La Lupa – StalybridgeWent on valentines night for the set 3 course meal, the meal was lovely and could not fault it, it was a busy night but the staff were very pleasant. Will certainly be going back.
Thornberries Bar and Grill – MiddletonYet another over-priced chain serving poor food, good food is hard to find these days. Staff pleasant enough.
Giraffe – Trafford CentreWe attended a party last night 14/02/2014 the food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly would defiantly recommend to anyone, so good we're going back for tea tonight.
Leo’s Restaurant – MontonLunch was stunning, beautiful place, set menu outstanding value for a celebrity chef restaurant. Although makes up for breakfast at £20 a head. An absolute must for lunch though.
Mr Cooper’s House and Garden – Manchester City CentreGreat company great grub and ale lovely staff.
The Regal Moon – RochdaleOur party enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Steak and Lobster. An equal amount chose each option and all were very satisfied. I had the steamed lobster and had a free top up of chips and salad. Good choice of wines by the glass and a luscious chocolate cheesecake to follow. Particularly impressed with the coffee choice post meal, I think a colombian, Sri Lankan and Indian. All were distinctly different in aroma and taste. Just £17 a head, bargain.
Steak & Lobster Manchester – Manchester City CentreWe were very excited to try Manchester House and it very much lived up to our expectations of it. As the flaship foodie restaurant of Living Ventures, and with the big billing it has had with Aiden Byrne at the cooker, much praise has been heaped upon it. It has been made quite clear a Michelin star for manchester was the aim. The food was really first class and deserving of that accolade. We had frogs legs, snails, venison and hare. The venue's ambience and atmosphere were exactly what we wanted. Great design, plenty of space, cool subdued lighting and a huge open plan kitchen. Great to choose to look into the kitchen or the dining room. Very extensive wine list and the prices were good considering the quality within it. Service was good and I would have been more than satisfied if it wasnt for the fact that Manchester House has pretensions for excellence. Questions of providence, about the wine list and how many chefs there were etc, were met with startled looks. Some waiting staff definitely needed training and we were surprised that this wasn't taken as seriously as the food. Do not let this put you off. We spent £166 for 2 with a good bottle of wine 2 courses and a shared dessert. For the experience we had I see that as very good value and we normally pay a lot less than that for a meal out.
