Asha Tandoori – DroylsdenWe were invited to join friends at this restaurant and so looked at it on the net. The reviews I saw made me a bit sceptic as to what to expect. The truth is I was very pleasantly surprised. None of the negative remarks made in the reviews were proven to be the case. We were warmly greeted and the restaurant manager was a cheerful, joking and courteous host who made us feel very welcome and appreciated. It was a very busy night and our starters took a little longer than would be expected but the manager came to us and profusely apologised and the popularity of this place was evident in that it is so well attended, I would think by regulars who have come back because of their previous experiences. The waitresses were also very attentive and polite I can only think that due to its recent launch it would, very understandably be a threat to any existing restaurants in the area and sometimes it is these restaurants who post negative reviews. I can’t be sure this is the case but it was certainly not the experience we had. By the way the food is excellent and presented beautifully. I would recommend it, try it out yourself and you will not be disappointed. I have no connection with the restaurant or its staff; I just wanted to be fair to them by adding my comments.
Rivington Pub and Grill – HorwichNever had a bad meal here ,service always good, it can get very busy but worth the wait ,we love it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Casa Nostra – WesthoughtonFood was OK but the service was terrible......our table was not available for over a hour after the time we booked for with no apology or concession......if your in the village there are loads of other places with better food and excellent service.....so try one of these.
Cibo Venetian Bar and Tapas – DidsburyWas having a relaxing afternoon in il cafe Roma enjoying a bite to eat when suddenly a man popped his head through the door pointing at the owner shouting at him for asking to take his fourteen year old daughter to the pictures. The owner shouted abuse back at him. The guy stormed out very unhappy. I found this very disturbing. Won't be going in their again. Was warned though about the chef.
Il Caffe Roma – Ashton Under Lynemy husband and I fell upon this delightful place November 2011 and have never looked back. NYE2011 was an absolute delight and the food is amazing everytime we go.We have had many family gatherings here and nothing is ever too much trouble, recently I was diagnosed with coeliac disease and thought my days of eating out where over but Steve assured me that was not so !! Whenever I go there the staff let Steve know and he always comes to ask what I want to eat advising me on different things. this truely is a jewel in westhoughtons crown.
The China Room – WesthoughtonWe have been there twice since then and the standard of Japanesefood is/was excellent. It is owned by and next to the Ynag Sing in theTrafford centre. That shows the quality of the place. It is a Korean/Japanserestaraunt. Try it, friendly with excellent quality food with good serviceand all at a reasonable price. Jim Meehan
Wokooshi – Trafford CentreFantastic in every way, attentive staff, wonderful host Leo, and fantastic food. The best Chinese food I have eaten for years and very good value. We travelled to meet friends and it was definitely worth the journey
New China Cottage – RamsbottomFood is great service great too.
The Lime Tree – PrestwichI ate at La Bella last Monday as a complete random choice as I have never visited before and I can only say it was EXCELLENT! I am a huge fan of Italian food and am very critical as I know what good Italian food is. La Bella hits the spot! Firstly the staff were extremely friendly and entertaining; the waiter wen out of his way to make sure our drinks were topped up, recommended dishes and even customised our order to fit our needs! The starters were immense with the goats cheese dish being the most amazing thing I have ever eaten! The salmon was exquisite and the chicken was cooked to perfection. As we were three girls not wanting to have a desert each the host compiled a customized desert or tiramisu and profiteroles and it was heaven! The food was amazing, the waiter entertained us all night! The price range was a average but you pay for excellent quality food! I will definitely be visiting here again, many times without fail! La Bella is now on my list of favourite Italian restaurants in Greater Manchester!
La Bella Italian Restaurant – OldhamJust been for St. George's Sunday lunch and as always out of this world. The service and personal touch second to none. I am a diabetic who declined the dessert course but was overwhelmed when the chef insisted to conjour up a dessert specially designed for me!! Absolutely fantastic and a credit to you and family/staff? Keep up the good work we will be back!
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleAsked to take out SFC burger with bacon cheese topper and nothing else on it, got home to find that the burger didn't have the topping and was full of everything I didn't ask for. The chicken seemed overcooked and dry. I was very disappointed
The Moorfield – SaleHated the food, it was very plain. The owner kept asking me for my phone number, he made me feel very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this cafe.
Il Caffe Roma – Ashton Under LyneTurkish Kitchen is such nice little and cosy restaurant that will offer you the best turkish food you could possibly eat in Manchester. Beautiful tastes of home made meals will definitely make you wanna come back again and again. Besides staff people and the owner of the restaurant are very welcoming and will make your visit even better. So it is a little place that will offer you a lot. Highest recommendations to come and visit this beautiful and cosy restaurant!
Turkish Kitchen –In the Trafford Centre there is a newish restaurant; > Korean/Japanese. My wife and I tried it yesterday after the cinema. > It was qite late but the staff were both nice and efficient. The > Japanes menu was quite good-it being the first time we had eaten there > and it being quiete, we expected to be rushed. No such thing, rather a > nice experience at our own pace, eating delightfully strange meals. My > wife had chicken terriake and I had a seafood bento box served with > tap water. No problem no high prices and memorable. We look forward to > eating there when we go to the Trafford Centre again. Excellent food, brilliant service, reasonably priced.
Saffran – Trafford CentreWe was a party of 4 going for a meal at The Pearl in Audenshaw near Manchester, on arrival the restaurant looks nice for the outside, we had booked for 7pm and arrived on time we were asked to get a drink and wait in the lounge area which wasn't a problem, the decor in the lounge was a ok but looked a bit tired, we was called to our table about 15 mins later, before we sat down I went to use the toilet (mens) these were disgusting and run down. The service and the meal were ok not the best but not the worst I've had we had popadoms with chutneys which was nice and fresh, then we had a tandoori mixed meat platter for 2 between me and my wife which was good, the only problem I found was the meats wasn't really that hot when they arrived but never the less it was very nice, we both had a different curry, pilau rice and a garlic nann bread to share, same again the curries wasn't served hot enough for me and they didn't have any heating trays on the table to keep the food hot so the dish went cold very quickly, but no complaints about the dishes they were nice. It was at this point my Sister in Law found a Black hair in her curry (the Short and Curley kind) it's a good job I had finished my meal or I would had gagged. She called a waiter over and told him, he went off and we didn't see him again so after asking several waiters what was happening my Sister in Law went to the reception desk and was met by the Manager, his response was "WELL, ITS ONLY A HAIR" which you can imagine made us feel a bit angry, at this point things become a bit heated (hotter than the food in fact) and we were told to get out without even an apology, which we did. So if you want a Luke warm meal with added pubes and to be humiliated then this is the place for you, we certainly won't be EVER be going back!!!
