Momentum Restaurant & Lounge – WesthoughtonOn a recent visit to San Carlo with my wife I have to say the food was quite appalling we had penna with prawns the prawns were the size of my finger nail and not many I did send them an email with not much success. Compared to other restaurants there customer service is very poor. I just think they don't care So marks out of ten a lucky 1 Not recommended
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreNot impressed. Visited when it first re-opened and was very impressed so I decided to take my dad for his birthday yesterday. The starter took over an hour to arrive and was of very 'standard' quality, the main courses again very 'standard' sausage & mash is literally just that - oh and a small amount of lumpy gravy - no vegetables. Dry potatoes, clearly boiled to within an inch of their lives! The menu's were photocopied sheets of paper, the toilets were untidy, tissue everywhere, empty toilet rolls etc. I think this place has gone drastically down hill which is a shame, staff seem like they cant be bothered - on the whole not a very pleasant experience!
The Strawbury Duck – BoltonThis was my third visit to El Rincon on Saturday night and once again it didn't fail to disappoint, there was a party of 7 of us with most of the party visiting El Rincon for the first time and they loved it, the food was fantastic followed by a good vibrant atmosphere, all the food came out within minutes of each other and it was amazing…I will be back again for more fantastic food!!
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreWe were recommended the Bilash Balti in Swinton and can honestly say that the food is fantastic, the service is great and the atmosphere is buzzing. We love it there and go quite often. Don't think you could get better in Rusholme!
Bilash Balti House – SwintonWent with my wife and daughter last night as a birthday treat to myself, place was suitably busy, but service and food was prompt and steaks delicious. Hadn't been since Enzo was sadly killed, and we had bad reports of it as "Aqua", so avoided it, but we thoroughly enjoyed it, and will certainly be going back. Enzo did better garlic bread though, hand made that bubbled and crisped up, so only gets a 9/10. :)
La Lupa – Stalybridgehighly recommended , good food , friendly staff , air conditioned ( was very cold last time we visited though )
Buraq – WiganI went to Momentum the other night and was impressed by the decor. I had the rabbit pie and the filling was delicious, the pastry crisp just as it should be. My only gripe would be that the pastry was slightly singed at the edges. The vegetables that accompanied it were cooked just right. For dessert I had the pannacotta. This was unusual and a lovely end to the meal. This restaurant is a great place to have a special celebration meal and the odd treat. It provides the difference that is needed in Westhoughton. I hope this is the beginning of a move towards upgrading the local stock of eateries. Momentum has certainly succeeded in that.
Momentum Restaurant & Lounge – WesthoughtonWe took our family to Rigalettos to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were greeted by very pleasant staff, shown to a very comfortable bar for pre-dinner drinks, given Menus to study at our leisure then when we were ready shown to our table that was beautifully set out. The food we all chose was excellent the wine was also excellent infact the whole evening was perfect and enjoyed by our party of 12 people. It was a night to remember thanks to Tino and his lovely Staff
Rigalettos – Wiganfantastic zindy love it and the free booze at the end of meal nailed it will be there this Saturday
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonAlthough very easy to drive past, this restaurant is definitely worth the stop. Attentive staff, lovely decor and fabulous food to rival some of the best restaurants in Manchester.
Chung Ying – SalfordGood food good service and I could have sworn Robert de Nero was walking about ? Maybe too much of the house red can't wait for the next visit
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonI often go to La Roma for lunch with my friend and it's always an enjoyable experience. The staff are very polite and welcoming and the menu is very varied. Everything is of the highest standard and you get the impression that you matter as a customer. No one is ever hurried, which is a failing of a lot of Italian restaurants. I recommend La Roma to everyone...go try!!
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonI have been eating in Tampopos for many years now and Ive always had a great express lunch. Its just that this time my experience was slightly tainted by the sloppiness and speed of the chefs. The staff were great and attentive and the floor manager couldnt do enough for me. The reason being that the Nazi Goring was unlike any Nazi Goring ive ever tasted before. Awful is my only explanation. There must of been 8 khaffir lime leaves in my dish which completely killed every other flavour in the dish and the chef has lazily quartered a whole tomato and placed that in there. Ive never seen that before. Its a shame, but I've such an affection of the place that hopefully this is just a one off. A mystery customer needs to go check this place out for the quality and authenticity of the food. There was an eastern European waitress working in there that could of slowed her pace down ever so slightly. Every time she was racing past, psychologically i felt rushed also. Although i couldn't fault anything else she did.
Tampopo – Manchester City CentreVisited first time 30th July 2011. Food: excellent. Atmosphere: friendly. Service: Very Good. Prices: Good. Wine; Didn't try; Driving! List looked good though. Must get a taxi next time. Will definitely add to visit again list.
La Lupa – StalybridgeVisited La Lupa for first time 30th July 2011. Excellent food. Real Italian, Pasta, Fish, & sweets. Prices good. Definitely on Visit again list. Didn't it used to be called Aqua?
La Lupa – StalybridgeAlways a pleasure to eat here, the food is quick tasty and substantial. The owner very welcoming. The noodle soups are amazing with plenty in the large bowls. This is a great alternative to wagamama and tampopo.
Fuzion Noodle Bar – FallowfieldI was completely stunned and in awe with this place, from its subterranean location and entrance to its interior. This is one hell of a cool place. I popped in for a beer after work. I had a good chat with the bar staff who knew plenty about their product. I wandered around the place, checking out the huge open planned kitchen which looks right. The colour scheme of the interior is like nothing I've seen before, you need to go and check this place out, i know it'll be right up your street. Ive yet to try the food but the menu is full of everything that good in the culinary world at the moment. this place will blow you away.
