La Lupa – StalybridgeWent to your other restaurant last night and have to say I was quite disappointed ... I really used to love San Tapas, good food & good atmosphere but last night the food was way below standard ! I guess if you are drinking alot of Sangria the food will taste better. For example the king prawns were not fresh by any means, the meats were tough, the olives ( i have had a better olive mixture at Morrisons), and Manuel...no comment
San Remo – AudenshawI ate at the hale grill last week with my husband, service was fantastic, we opted for the 10oz sirloin which was cooked to perfection and the home made chips were amazing. we will definitely be coming back
The Hale Grill – HaleMy favourite town centre eatery, gets better every time. been on a girlie party night which was fantastic, and a few times since with hubby or mum. the service is great, and the food is MUCH better than that other mass produced well known tapas chain, better value and quality and more authentic flavours. Mum particularly loved the king prawns tonight and i love the chicken in tomato, peppers and chilli. The bread's always extra fresh and comes with tasty dips. menu is so vast that even though the tapas are small, you could never eat everything you fancied off the menu - but it's nice to try!
La Salsa – HorwichGave La Salsa a try after looking for a good offer, i was really surprised by the choice available and the quality of the food. Excellent value for money, well worth a trip.
La Salsa – HorwichWe visited the Pearl restaurant for the first time this last Sunday night. We'd rung ahead of time to check what time the last table could be booked, which is 9.30pm & arrived just before. The food was really lovely and we had a platter for two as a starter. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well. We decided to take our delicious main courses home as a take away because one waiter paced up and down to see if we had finish our starters when we clearly hadn't which was a little uncomfortable as we were sat on the back wall of the restaurant. I would definitely visit again as on the whole the food and level of service was very good, everyone has bad days I guess!
Pearl Restaurant Bar and Lounge – AudenshawI visited what the local call 'The Shoulder' after a walk up the nearby Holcombe Hill with my fiance. The pub sits right at the bottom of the hill and is ideally placed for those who have built up an appetite after a walk. We shared pate for starters. I say shared because it's not the usual smaller portion you may get elsewhere. The presentation was also great. For the main course we both plumbed for the fish and chips. Largely down to seeing it being brought out to other tables and getting food envy! The fish was good and cooked in fresh crispy batter. The chips were great also big chunky chips served in a mini steel bucket! Temptation then struck and it was good old sticky toffee pudding to finish off. Great food, great location and good service. The pub has a great atmosphere and if you like your ales as I do then I recommend the Timothy Taylor Landlord. Cheers
Shoulder Of Mutton – BuryWe went to the Owls on Sunday 9th May for a family birthday, there were 4 kids and 9 adults and it was very disappointing. The restaurant is in a great setting with a terrace and garden at the back (although lack of chairs / benches outside) and the decor / interior is to a high standard. There is lots to choose from on the menu and our orders were taken very quickly. On making the booking we were told that we had to leave the table at 4pm, we sat down at 2pm so had plenty of time to enjoy our dinner - or so we thought. The quality of the food was extremely poor, the starters of breaded mushrooms were cold and the salad brown and limp. The pate was just as bad with a hard edge and lack of taste - looked as if it had been in the fridge for months. Most of us ordered Roast Beef as a main course and this was served only just warm, roast potatoes were out of the freezer and a lack of green vegetables - only carrots and soggy cabbage. There was no service for drinks so one of our group had to queue at the bar for 13 drinks and was offered no help with carrying them over. The service was half hearted and we were asked if we had finished our main courses 3 times whilst still eating! They were clearly in a rush for us to leave. Only the children ordered dessert as we were given no menus and offered only ice cream or profiteroles. Most of us had coffee which was served with 1 UHT plastic cream instead of fresh milk. Overall terrible food and service experience in a place that should have been excellent considering the ambience and settings.
The Owls At Standish – Wiganafter a bad day watching spurs lose to burnley,we found the jewel in the crown on our way back to London, fantastic food, great service & would highly recommend this curry house...
Jewel In The Crown – Buryit was are first visit and we can say it was one of the best meals we have had for a long time. The service was very good and had time for you even though it was very busy, the prices are a bit expensive but we went for a birthday treat and after having the meal it was not a concern to us. We travelled from accrington and we will definitely be going back again...
San Marino – BoltonI went to Don Marco for my 3 year anniversary and the experience left me disappointed. The food is average, lacking seasoning and didn't taste freshly prepared. The bruscetta was good but the pate tasted like is was made weeks ago, was far too rich and smelled like a wet dog. The calamari, prawn, whitebait, goujon starter included one prawn, far too much whitebait and brakes brother style calamari, a couple of slimy fish goujons and a salad swimming in olive oil. The main course of meatballs comprised of a plate of over cooked spaghetti, unseasoned meatballs and some pasata. It was really bad. We prebooked a table and were still asked to move after the starter to allow a table of six in with no apologies or compensation. I ran a bar / restaurant for a few years and certainly would've comp'ed the drinks (2 diet cokes (which I almost had to beg to get) and a spritzer). The staff were unattentive and left empty glasses on the table when putting fresh drinks down and avoided eye contact. We had to ask for parmesan and black pepper for the main. It didn't feel like the homely relaxed Italian you expect with good food and a warm atmosphere, it was just poor from start to finish. The manager fussed around and wouldn't leave you alone to the point where he could've done with being sedated. Go to Dimitris next door....
Don Marco – Manchester City CentreIt was my 14 year old son who suggested this restaurant and am rather glad he did. The inside was very inviting, with an open contemporary feel. The service was good, as we tend to take a while over our order, Hasan - the manager, to our starter order and took our main meal order a few minutes later. The food was excellent...our kids, 14 and 6, really enjoyed their food, with my son choosing the best meal with Chicken Tikka Shahee, spiced minced lamb wrapped in chicken tikka...gorgeous! Menu has all the favourites however the specials drew in my tastebuds!!! These specials are also included in the Mon-Thurs offer....unlike some othr places in Farnworth. Hasan was eager to please and more than happy to take on board any advice to make Indigo more inviting. I'd definately advise anyone I know to give Indigo a try....even if it's just a take out or delivery. I'd like to wish Good Luck to Hasan and all his staff on their new restaurant....well done!!!
Indigo Restaurant – Boltonfantastico the food is out of this world ,its the best in manchester you feel like you are in spain .and a lot of stars use it .try it you will go back, i promise ,if you close your eyes you would believe you are in spain, the atmosphere is 10/10 .very good raffael, you have worked hard ..and you deserve credit where its due .bueno suerte,
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreLooks nothing from the outside- but the food was absolutely delicious and very different from other food I had eaten before. Very simple setting, relaxed atmosphere. I also enjoyed being able to take my own wine with me to drink.
Aladdin – DidsburyFirst class fish and chips and loads more ? Also very friendly. Would recommend to everyone.
Enfield Street Chippy – WiganLovely restaurant, wonderful service and delicious, authentic food.
Shiraz Restaurant – NorthendenThey have pictures of Manchester united on the wall, the atmosphere for a Tuesday night was great,it cost 60 quid for2 ,minestrone, pasta and a bottle of wine. They have loads of waiters.
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreWe just had takeaway chicken kebabs from Turkish delight and I must say i was surprised when we ordered the turkish naan bread (instead of pitta) which is an extra 30p and saw it come out of a packet and thrown on top of our meat on the grill. The Kebab was NOT tasty, the chicken was watery, bread dry and i've had much better kebabs elsewhere, where you get fresh naan and it's cheaper than Turkish Delight too!
