Moonlight Tandoori – WiganI visited Stock on Saturday 6th of Feb with a group of 6 friends and had the worst dining experience of my life. I have read very bad reviews about Stock but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because of the wonderful setting. I implore you to not waste your money at this establishment after our shocking experience. Some of the waiting staff were extremely unprofessional forgetting orders, not clearing starter plates, not bringing wine lists and most worryingly being curt and rude whilst the wait for our food was intolerable. We waited 60 minutes for starters and just before they arrived we were informed there was no pate and when they did arrive the Ravioli Neri was still cold/frozen. The mains arrived a further hour later. Numerous complaints were made to the manager and owner who placed two bottle of house wine on our table but would not discount the bill for the long delays, mistakes, rudeness and general tardiness. We paid the full £180 bill, tipped the one waiter (Leo) who tried to salvage the night £20 and they offered us free coffees. A shameful example of how not to run a restaurant.
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreLovely restaurant, frequently dine on a Saturday night, exceptional service, highly recommend the Fiorentina pizza and the linguine alla marinara pasta, with a bottle of merlot , very tasty food,
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonDo NOT go here, food is awful, overpriced and the service is terrible. We were very disappointed!
Khan Baba – Manchester City CentreAs our nearest restaurant and the only one in reasonable walking distance, we were hoping for a really nice evening. Unfortunately we were a little let down. I have to say that it is difficult to say exactly what isn't quite right but the overall experience is disappointing. The restaurant has been extended since our last visit is a welcoming environment. We were greeted with a smile and promptly shown to our table, where we were still in the process of sitting down when we were asked if we wanted a drink while we were waiting - waiting for what? we hadn't even sat down! Despite having some coat racks, you are left to put your coats over the back of your chair (good job it wasn't raining). The menu is a little odd, with a huge range of sauted chicken, but it is a bit like spot the difference between some of them and every single one had mushrooms in (something I don't like), I am sure they would have made one without mushrooms if I asked but it would be better if they simplified the range of chicken dishes a little and perhaps added something else instead. Our order was taken fairly swiftly and the starters arrived promptly. Both were nice but the pate only came with a tiny amount of toast which did somewhat spoil it. There was a bit of a wait between the starter and main course but not too excessive, however in this time I had an empty glass and after several attempts I finally managed to attract the attention of one of the waitrers and I ordered another beer. It was quite a long time before it finally arrived (as it was simply a bottle of peroni, it should have been quicker). The main course was eventually served and we had bearly taken a mouthful before we were asked if everything was alright. Food was OK but not exceptional. Our plates were cleared promptly and we were bought the dessert menu (including the specials on a tatty bit of paper). These were almost dumped on the table. We quickly chose what we wanted and then waited a long time to order them (for no apparent reason as the staff weren't that busy). As soon as we had ordered them and some coffees we were asked by almost all the other staff whether we wanted anything else! The italian trifle was disappointing for something advertised as the chef's speciality - it was a little bland. We then waited ages for our coffees despite ordering them with the desserts and being asked whether we wanted any when our plates were cleared. Whilst we were waiting we couldn't help overhearing everyone else being offered ice cream with their desserts - we weren't offered any. The coffees eventually arrived and were nice. We then asked for the bill and again waited ages. I guess with a little more effort on service and some slight changes to the menu (i.e. simplify it) this place would be much better, there isn't really that much wrong with it but overall it was just disapointing.
Andiamo – WesthoughtonBrilliant pizzas, great service, always on time :) Big thumbs up as it's also good value for money.
Pizza La Citta – Salford QuaysFood was lovely but service was quite poor. £1.50 per person per poppadom is shocking!!!!!!!!
Sindhoor South Indian Restaurant – LevenshulmeLots of dishes to choose from and some very good chefs special dishes, I really like the Chicken Jalhi Bhuna and the Chicken Chilli Masala. Very spacious inside, very friendly staff, excellent service and the prices are very good too. I have been going here for many years now and every time I am pleased with the food, never had any complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended

Mumbai Indian Restaurant – HorwichVery cheap, friendly service, good quality food would recommend.
Full Monty – Ashton Under LyneI HATE this place. I hate it because I came close to leaving my wife, packing in my job and working here as a toilet cleaner in exchange for one meal a day from this fantastic restaurant - this has been my favourite restaurant experience since I dined at the Fat Duck 3 years ago. This is without doubt the best Japanese food I have had and I've eaten a lot plus the proprieter Monica is an absolute sweetheart (not to mention a stone cold hotty!). I'm struggling to find words to describe how good this is, everything - and I mean EVERYTHING I have eaten there has been sublime - best gyoza by far, best salmon sashimi by far, best beef sashimi by far, best yakisoba by far - need I go on? If you enjoy impeccable food in a great little restaurant with fantastic staff and an out of this world hostess then you must try this place - I highly recommend asking nicely and giving Monica free-reign to choose your menu, a friend and I did and for £50 (well £60 really, I left a £10 tip) we had one of the best meals of our lives. So good I have eaten there at least 18 times in the past 2 months. Be nice to your tastebuds, treat them to a meal at Tokyo Season!
Tokyo Season – Manchester City Centrefood is good but price too high nice surroundings but too expensive for what it is
China Lounge – WhitefieldReally nice food not expensive but also not your usual frozen pub food service is good, you will need to book for the restaurant part rather than the pub that can get busy.
Shoulder Of Mutton – BuryReally nice food not expensive but also not your usual frozen pub food service is good, you will need to book for the restaurant part rather than the pub that can get busy.
Shoulder Of Mutton – Ramsbottomthe fish here is like no where else in bolton once you have tried it you wont go anywhere else
Chae’s Chips – Boltonjust returned home after sampling the early bird menu at Blacksticks, choice of full menu and excellent value for money, black pudding starter was fantastic and the pork main just melted in your mouth. This is my fifth visit to this bistro and it never fails to impress.
Blacksticks Restaurant – EcclesDecided to visit Retreat after seeing their current offer 50% off on Sunday until the end of February. When we arrived we were instantly impressed, the decor is modern and relaxing. There were not many people dining but we were all sat in the same area so it felt busier. As it had been snowing it was a lovely touch that the fire was on full blast, just what we needed. I can't wait to go back in the summer to take advantage of the outside dining area. My partner and I shared a Tapas Trio Starter, which consisted of Prawns, Meatballs, Cheesy Rice Balls and Garlic Bread. Each one of these were superb, fresh flavours and just the thing to wet our appetites. For our mains my partner had the Sirloin Steak with Peppercorn Sauce which was accompanied by chips, roasted cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. He enjoyed this very much, I had the Beef and Mushroom Pie which was lovely, the pastry was light and the sauce was rich and flavoursome. The dessert for me was fantastic, I had the Chocolate Fudge Cake with cream. I have had many in my time but this was the most light, fluffy indulgent cake I have ever had. Invariably the fudge and sauce takes away from the cake but this one is all about the cake. Delightful! Glad I squeezed it in. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxing meal just the two of you, family get together or a night out with friends as the atmosphere would accommodate all those options. The menu would appeal to everyone and from what I saw everything is of the highest quality as we experienced. The Lamb Shank on the next table looked amazing! Give it a try, I promise you will love it!
