THE BEST INDIAN FOOD IN MANCHESTER OR UK,VISITED IN APRIL 2010 ON SATURDAY NIGHT BUT TASTE IS STILL BUZZING ON MY TONGUE,WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK AGAIN
Punjab Tandoori – RusholmeNo.Not at all.I visited for the first time Friday with my partner after reading the reviews.I was led to believe this is a fine dining restaurant.Well in all my yrs of eating out this was a first for me it definitely is not.Never had french onion soup like onion gravy with some sort of powdered packet stock. A pie which looked like it had been dropped on the floor in a dish my gran would leave her teeth in !! Vinegar bottle filthy .Never Never again too expensive too dirty
The Beacon – WiganChinese Delight is a SPECIAL DELIGHT if you have not been its a must. This restaurant changed hands 5 yrs ago,and the credit goes to both Ben and Angela the owners of this wonderful place. Nothing to much trouble fresh food cooked everytime been going here a couple of years now. Table for the night never rushed. I give this place 5*.
Chinese Delight Restaurant – Boltonwow what a fab restaurant ,staff so friendly and only £6.50 for a two course meal couldn't believe it ,and to top it up sofas in a separate room to watch world cup matches after i had eaten ,will be going there all the time
Shanghai Palace Restaurant – WiganI have always been a big fan of the Three arrows pub as the food is fantastic, so this weekend i decided to drag my friends down there instead of there usual weekend hotspot. The bar has not been taken over by new owners (no probs) on arrival the new decor is tacky but the bar has always been know for the food so i was looking forward to that a group of us was given 1 menu to share and when you food came out it went to the wrong table, then a young girl shouted "nana wheres this going?? i cant find em?" the feeling there is that the family there have never run this kind of bar, and when the food came over it was so bad!! so so bad i was gutted.... the fries where nearly black they were so over done! the sausages were raw inside! raw! all the food had a burnt cover on it like it had been left under a hot lamp. All in all a let down, they took some food off the bill but the lunch was ruined i then had to take my friends to my mums house to say sorry and she isnt the best cook at all but everyone agreed the service and food was 150% better than the three arrows
Three Arrows Inn – MiddletonAwful, my parents had visited previously and really liked it and decided to take the whole family there for a little get together, they were really let down, we had to wait an hour before we could even order food as they was apparently to busy and had to stop food for over an hour so being understanding at that time we waited and after an hour we placed our order, we then had to wait for 45 minutes and being starving at that time we asked how long for the food to be told it going to be at least another 25 minutes because they were still busy. We evenly got our food and to be honest it really wasn't all that. None of us will be returning there again and will resort to trying the other pubs in the area, anything would be better that starving for over an hour.
Shoulder Of Mutton – RamsbottomDelicious food and warm and friendly service by well dressed staff! The best night out I have had for a long time. A place I will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Alberts Restaurant and Bar – DidsburyIt was our second visit to Albert's Shed and we were not disappointed. The food was tasty and cooked fresh answer service from Rea was attentive but not intrusive.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City CentreStefano and his wonderful staff provided a wonderful buffet when we organised a wake there, and were not fazed in the slightest when alot more people arrived than originally expected. They could not have been more helpful or pleasant. We then returned on Saturday night for a quiet meal for two. We were seated immediately despite the restaurant being exceedingly busy. Again the wonderful staff went out of their way to provide a very pleasant dining experience. The food was wonderful and i can highly recommend the pasta with vodka and spring onions. The portions were large and very good value for money. After we sat on the terrace outside which provides lovely views over the river irwell. Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and cannot wait to return again and work my way through the extensive menu.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonFirst time diner having visited many other local restaurants. The Lounge has nice interior, service functional, good choice of menu but some dishes on Sunday night not available. Starters of mushroom and artisan bread very disappointing, plaice excellent, really nicely cooked, pork well cooked but for £13 not value for money. On balance not enough to lure back again given prices of dishes.
The Lounge – RamsbottomIf you want your food served with a smile, hot and tasty... don't eat here! We don't go out for a meal that often so thought we'd give the Owls a go as it's local. If you want fast food but not the usual burgers then this is your place. Our starters of Garlic Mushrooms were actually tasteless onion soup with a couple of mushrooms. The main of Lasagne tasted of the cheese sauce on top and not much else, the included garlic bread was just tasteless and cold. The Rump Steak however was cooked well and fairly tasty and served with a substantial serving of chips (tasty & hot) and a bit of veg (cold and limp). Deserts of choc fudge cake (an extra £2.50) and meringue with ice cream and fruit coulis were probably the best bits, although the meringue was obviously shop bought and the ice cream was of the cheap variety. The staff couldn't have cared less, with our starters literally thrown at us and the cutlery dumped in the middle of the table. They were then whipped away as we put our forks down, main course was dumped in front of us then they eventually cleared it and once we had our dessert menus we were ignored for 10 minutes. When our desserts were brought out we got our first smile of the night! Overall we wouldn't suggest or recommend it but if you're after something cheap and quick this is your place. We will not be returning.
The Owls At Standish – WiganExcellent food an really good service would recommend to other people. good first time and finished an entire curry !
Indigo – Boltonpizzas very good ,pints of peroni on draft nice
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonExcellent service, superb food, a good local clientele, good fair pricing but above all really nice people, especially the dark haired girl called Nat.
Church Inn – CheadleGorgeous venue, lovely bar area with low lighting. Restaurant just as lovely, tables not too close together. Food fantastic, retro with a a modern twist. One of favourite places to eat in Manchester, will definitely be back.
Grand Pacific restaurant and bar – Manchester City Centre5 STAR ***** We have been going La Roma now for about a year. We love eating here and love the Wine even more. Their food is always prepared beautifully and tastes amazing strongly recommend any sea food, pasta dishes and strongly recommend the house Red. The prices are very reasonable and if you become a regular like us they offer stamps with discount for next visit. We live near by and love the location of the Restaurant with the Bridge over the River. Also we enjoy sitting round after the meal near the fire in the bar area. Most of the staff are Italian, they all make you feel welcome and provide brilliant service. You must Go Go Go !!! Kind Regards Andy & Jen
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonGreat night out in Castlefield. Albert's Shed got it wright with staff, level of service and quality of food. Thank you.
