Fresca - fantastic food, superb service, Polite friendly staff EXCELLENT.
Fresca – Saddleworthour daughter had her wedding and everyone has commented on what a good venue it was and how the food was amazing. Rodney and the team work very hard to ensure that everything is just so. Can't recommend Nutters highly enough-what a treat to eat there
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleI haven't been to The Metropolitan to eat in a long time. I used to drink here all the time from when I was at University up until I left the area a few years ago. After returning to Manchester, I went to meet up with some friends for a meal. I was surprised by the menu. i was expecting pub grub but it was more like a fine dining experience. The choice was vast, the food delicious and the service smiley and efficient. I would definitely reccomend it. Think we're even having our Christmas reunion here this year.
Metropolitan – DidsburyLOVE the horse and jockey really would recommend. Good British pub food at good value for money.
Horse and Jockey – ChorltonWe went to Madisons for a friends birthday. It was possibly one of the worst meals I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The starters went straight from the freezer to the deep fat fryer, my main course salmon had been microwaved. mains were served with Aunt Bessies roast potatoes! The desserts were all from the freezer and doused in squirty canned cream. my children can cook better than that! And the staff treated it like a school canteen! The only saving grace was the singer who was the evenings entertainment. Shocking! never again.
Hot Chilli – BoltonWell, what can one say. On Thursday, 8 of us went to celebrate my 40th Yikes! After being told there were no pizza's left (what! no pizza in an Italian restaurant, look at it this way the food must be fresh), we ordered alternatives which turned out to be really tasty. We all ordered starters, main, deserts and of course drinks including 9 paints of larger! The bill came to £142.30 which for the quality of the food we thought was good. The waiters had smiles on their faces something which was nice to see for a change, and I got a candle stuck in my tiramasu with the birthday song for good measure. On the down side, the pace of the service was poor, or you could say 'chilled out' typically Italian. We arrived at 7 and left at 10pm. You had to grab their attention if you wanted a drink. It was also quite noisy and warm. In summary, If you want a reasonably priced, fresh, good quality meal served with a smile; in a noisy, warm room (so wear a smart t-shirt or short sleeves) then San Remo's is the place for you. We will go back again, the food makes it worth while, just hope they have pizza.
San Remo – AudenshawWent here at the weekend - as others have said this was easily the best Japanese food in Manchester. So why was it nearly empty when other IMO inferior Japanese places are packed out?
Yuzu – Manchester ChinatownYuzu food was lovely. Service was really friendly and they gave us a free taster of a Japanese chicken stew which was delicious, then told us all the vegetables that were in it. It was so nice, shame that it was so quiet on a Saturday night. GO!! It's really great.
Yuzu – Manchester ChinatownHad dinner here on Saturday. Best 'curry' I've had in the North West. Just over £50 for four of us including beers. Food was fab. We're all veggie and there was so much veggie choice that, for a change, we found it difficult to choose! We had different starters and mains from each other, most of which we hadn't tried before. Staff were lovely. Would travel over from Liverpool especially.
Punjab Tandoori – RusholmeWe eaten at this place last friday evening,15/10/10,3 off us. Got two starters to share, very nice lamb shashlik, and a fish starter. Very poor service,my son asked for a drink that never arrived,we asked again and got it,my wife asked for a jug of water, never got it,the worse was when the waiter dropped a meal of lamb handi on the table, they did not change the dish and just put a napkin over the mess on the table. We was never offered another meal, they just took the dish away then brought it back! What lamb handi was left in the dish was very nice but the service was very poor.also they had no slimline tonic to go with my wifes gin, overall i would say the food is okay, but the service was very poor and i will not be returning in a hurry.they did not even offer a discount.
Great Kathmandu – DidsburyThe service was excellent, efficient and polite, and the food was, well, OK. It was a little bit 'curse of the orange sauce' with 5 dishes coming out the same colour and not far off the same flavour...Jalfrezi, saag paneer, chana bhagi, karahi and one other. Quantities were huge but I'm a less is more kind of a girl. It was reasonably busy - it was Friday night, and the decor is OK. I like the open kitchen. With so many good curry houses to choose from now in and around Manchester, that charge around the same (for food at least, the beer prices were very reasonable), I wouldn't go back.
Asian Fusion – ChorltonAfter reading other recommendations on various sites about Spicy Hut, we thought we would give it a try. We was not disappointed. There was no pressure to come in, which is always nice, once we entered we were met with a warm and friendly greeting and asked where we would like to sit (we was earlier than most diners and soon it soon started to fill up). The waiter was polite and courteous. We ordered Chicken tikka karahi and cicken rogan josh, pilau rice and a keema nan. The main meal was delicious,The karahi had a smoky taste too it, different to the normal tikka marinate but was pleasantly different with just the right balance of spice and flavour. Helen had the rogan josh and was equally enjoyed with that slight twist to the norm. Highly recommended, definitely go again a very relaxing place to eat....try it
Spicy Hut – RusholmeI've eaten in the restaurant and had takeaway from this one and enjoyed my meals every time the staff are really friendly, I would definitely recommend =)
Balti Brasserie – EcclesVisited this last night and was pretty disappointed. Having eaten in the restaurant a few weeks before, we expected good things of the cafe bar too. My main course - mackerel with beetroot dauphinoise was tasty but tiny. It came with one small fish fillet, a few sprigs of watercress and the dauphinoise was slightly bigger than a large walnut. I'm not a big eater, but it only It took me five minutes to finish this and I was still hungry after. The dish cost around £11, which is by no means expensive, however mackerel is probably one of the cheapest fish on the market. and any self-respecting restaurant would serve two fillets as a main. I spoke with both waiting staff about the portion size. One just said 'oh right' and the other winked at me and said 'I know' !! Won't be going again, which is a shame because I do like the taste of the food.
La Roma is a relaxed Italian restaurant, the food is great & the service is always excellent (its our local as its within walking distance). If you like your food with a bit of a kick I would recommend the arrabiata. If you fancy something other than pizza or pasta, the Pollo Tricolore is really tasty. Its a lovely place to eat and enjoy before or after dinner drinks, with family, friends or for a romantic meal for two. Enjoy x
La Roma Restaurant – Boltondon't know whether I should do this as it could become too popular. Without question this place is one of the best restaurants in the country. Prices are unbelievable, food is superb, setting wonderful all it needs to give that finishing touch is proper napkins(I hate cheap paper ones)
Toby Inn – BoltonMy wife and I really liked Nutters and wanted to organise a series of evenings with friends there. We rang to speak to the manager to see if there were any special arrangements we could make bringing so many people and to say he was rude would be an understatement.... so much so he's put us off the restaurant period.
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleExcellent reasonably priced food. Amazing. One of the best Italians I have been to.
