Taj Mahal – BoltonWe have made three visits in the last few weeks, food is excellent and very well presented. you are made to feel welcome by the owners and staff. prices very reasonable. Well worth a visit.
The Beacon – Wigana very nice restaurant, offering river views. my partner and i both thought the food was quite nice/alright rather than delicious. i had a choice of a mild, medium or hot karahi. i went for the medium, and i'm glad i chose that and not the mild as it was fairly tame (not as though i like 'hot'). my girlfriend had some prawn dish that apparently didn't taste very much like prawns. we twice asked for some tap water (we already had wine) which never came. the pickle tray for the popadoms was excellent though and we will probably give this place another go.
East z East – Manchester City Centreyes very nice place, impossible to park though!food ? ok
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City Centreeasily the best Indian food in the north west.
Punjab Tandoori – RusholmeWe recently dined at the john gilbert and lovers of frozen food will be delighted with the fare.
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyI have visited La Roma many times with my husband and baby daughter and we are always welcomed warmly by Stefano and his staff. In fact, every time my parents visit they insist on going to lunch at least on one day as they find the food outstanding value for money, beautifully prepared and always hot!
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonWe and our family and friends have been eating at La Roma for over 9 yrs - 8 at the previous place in Bromley cross and now for over a year in their new home. The food has always been of a consistent high quality, probably the best Italian food in the area! The menu is varied, there is something for everyone, from our one year old grandchild who loves the pasta to some members of the older generation who love the plainer (they do it without the sauce for him) fare of steaks(the hard to please father in law!). Definitely recommend La Roma to lovers of good food, pleasant surroundings and very friendly and obliging staff!
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonI have been to the ashfield on a number of occasions over the past 5 years ,during my recent visit i noticed the place was looking a bit shabby and dated. The food was top class but the waitress service a touch careless for want of a better word.might try else were next time
Ashfield House Hotel and Restaurant – WiganHave been a customer at the Owls at Standish, for years, and on Friday 19th June 2009 visited with my 85 year old father and my wife.During the meal the waiter slipped and "threw" a full bowl of custard over the table,my shirt, tie and suit trousers, and i do mean a "full-bowl" !!He was apologetic, the incident was witnessed by various other customers and a table occupied by friends of my wife.No member of management came to the table to apologise, despite the lady who appeared to be in charge passing several times. As we paid the bill,we gave details of the incident,no offer of compensation was made/reduction in the bill. The reception/cashier summoned the lady who had walked past us several times, who in a very curt manner told us it "would come out",her complete lack of customer skills and arrogance was breathtaking, this had ruined the rest of our evening as we had to return home and change. No offer of a refund was made---so beware at the Owls of Standish, you pay for what the waiter spills over you, make sure its not an expensive dish!!
The Owls At Standish – WiganHaving been to a great many Indian restaurants, we have yet to find one in the same league as the standard. The service is fantastic and the food is second to none (well worth the trip from anywhere in the north west). I particularly recommend the 'sheezan murghi' which is fairly hot but with awesome flavour (a must try if you like madras). my fiancee has the 'Balti pashwari murgh' which is a must for anybody who enjoys korma. If you haven't already tried this restaurant, TRY IT!! and I bet you'll be back! There's a few pubs and bars nearby too for afterwards
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonRainbow 88 cannot be beaten - absolutely the best Chinese Restaurant in the country as far as we are concerned. We have celebrated every special occasion there and never miss the Chinese New Year and Karaoke nights. Linda truly is the hostess with the mostess. Highly recommended any lunchtime or night of the week.
Rainbow88 – CheadleFood was tasteless, service was below par and the Manager is extremely arrogant after blaming us that the hair found in the Red Thai curry did not belong to his staff and he made out he was doing us a favour by replacing it, consequently we walked out only after paying for the starters as the manager locked the door. DO NOT GO THERE!
Koh Samui Thai Restaurant – Manchester City CentreThe food is fantastic and there is a great value for money menu available too. It's relatively modern and always pretty full. It even has a car park which in Didsbury is pretty rare. However, the service is quite possibly the worst I have ever received. Drinks were slammed down, starter plates weren't cleared until the end of the meal, noone checked that the meal was ok or offered the chance to reorder drinks. The table was wiped down onto my lap and both of the waiters that 'served' us were unbelievably rude. I would never return here but would try the takeaway next door as the kitchen is shared.
Khandoker – DidsburyWhat a beautiful setting for a great restaurant. Look out of the windows and greenery abounds. We went for lunch on my birthday. The service was second to none. The food was delicious- piping hot as I like it. The owner found time to chat to everyone. It was an enjoyable experience, which we hope to repeat this weekend with friends.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonFound a pubic hair on my red curry (number 47). The manager to acused me of putting it it there. Was shocked and refused to eat anything else so the manager made us pay 30 pounds for 2 starters coke bitter lemon and prawn crackers...
Koh Samui Thai Restaurant – Manchester City Centrefood is dear but i love all-you-can-drink coffee!!
