Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreWe went to Clough Manor on Sunday for lunch. The food was excellent and the service the same. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chef and owners should be very proud of Clough Manor and I will certainly recommend it to all my friends.
Clough Manor – SaddleworthI've been to the Albion frequently over the last few months and can highly recommend the excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly service to everyone. Great menu - slow braised lamb shank is devine and it's nice to have the 'bar or bistro' option.
The Albion – RochdaleSeven members of Trafford Gourmet Curry Club visited the Standard at 8.30pm on Thursday 20th November 2008. We had previously tried the Blue Raj and the Kulshi and the Standard was next on our list. On our arrival the place was very busy and although we had not booked the staff found us a table without any hassle. We ordered 14 Poppadums with a choice of garnishes including one we had not had anywhere before but tasted like Strawberry Jam ( Delicious ). We then ordered mixed starters for seven plus an extra portion of Tandoori Lamb Chops, Ribs and Sheekh Kebab. They arrived shortly after we had finished our poppadums and they were delicious! After ploughing our way through the starters, for mains we ordered one Chicken Shezanne Murghi ( Hot and Spicy ) three Lamb Khari, two Taste of Shundorbon ( one chicken, one lamb) and one Chicken Tikka Masala. All the meals came together and we just about managed to polish off the lot! With lager and coffees the bill came to £127 which surprised us as we thought it would be considerably more. A free complimentary Hennessy Brandy rounded off a perfect evening. All in all we were pleasantly surprised both with the attentiveness of the staff and the quality of the cuisine. Perhaps they should change the name to Very High Standard! Thanks once again Standard for a very enjoyable evening!
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonBeen going to the Far Pav for years and will continue to keep going. Nothing is to much trouble. Staff always helpful, happy and polite. If you have never been, go.
New Far Pavilion – Swinton5 stars for Lasalsa Restaurant in bolton. I been spain few times but honestly i have not had so tasty tapas else where and the price is just peanuts but the quality of food and the management is second to none. will recommend. ++++ .
La Salsa – HorwichMeany SanMinis ! We booked a table for 2 at this new restaurant but were unable to attend at the last minute due to our son being taken ill. The next day we received a phone message in which we were 'told off' for not attending and then later a phone call demanding to know why we had not turned up. I explained but even then the person was quite rude and showed no concern for anyone but himself. I understand that it is courteous to phone if cancelling but this is sometimes not possible and I do not think that treating customers like naughty children is the way to attract customers. Not recommended!
Sanmini’s – RamsbottomProbably the best Thai restaurant in the UK ? Having personally visited Thailand for my honeymoon and subsequently scoured the UK for a true authentic experience . . I can truly say that this restaurant is as close as you will get to actually being there. The management and staff are so accommodating I didn't want to leave ! I have since booked several functions there . . including business functions and family gatherings . . all of which exceeded my expectations . . well done guys, see you VERY soon !
Nam Ploy – BoltonWe ate at Earle last week - it was a gourmet night to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. The meal was incredible! Just gorgeous! The service was fantastic and we even got to meet Simon Rimmer who was as lovely in real life as he comes across on tv. I could not recommend this restaurant enough!
Earle Restaurant – HaleTHE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD DEFFOOOOO I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Peter Pan – Eccleswas not very impressed when i dined there. service was slow, empty plates were not cleared and was charged full price when they were advertising 1/2 price sushi outside the restaurant.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreEarle is one of THE best restaurants I've ever literally EVER eaten at. Unlike some of the Manchester city centre restaurants and other places I've been Earle is always relaxed and welcoming. The staff are attentive but not over-bearing. The food is well portioned, well priced and well cooked. I would recommend this place to Everyone!!
Earle Restaurant – HaleBeen to this pub/restaurant twice now. The first time (months ago) wasn't too bad, the food was pretty cheap, but my meal was over cooked and was replaced, by something only slightly better. I went again two nights ago with a friend and was extremely disappointed to say the least. I ordered the "Tomato, cheese, and broccoli bake", there wasn't a trace of tomato (stated a tomato sauce), it was basically a bowl of cheese with about 3 peices of broccoli. My friend had a chicken curry, she said it was awful and the sauce was curdled. After complaining, the manager eventually showed his face and told us that the food was in fact bought in frozen! I asked why the menu said the bake was in tomato sauce and he couldn't give a proper answer. He was very reluctant to satisfy us and in the end gave us a partial refund of £2.75 between us! Outrageous. I won't be setting foot near the place again, I will be sticking with the Blundell Arms who don't microwave their meals!
The Waggon and Horses – WesthoughtonThis restaurant has just been re-furbished and has lost its charm and unfortunately you can no longer take your own drinks in. The drinks we were served (Cobra draft allegedly) were very expensive at £2.95 a pint. This unfortunately pushes up the price and at these prices the food would have to be exceptional, which it isn't, shame really.
Red Lounge – AudenshawThe best curry house I've been to,staff very friendly ,takeaway is the same quality as the restaurant, i wont go anywhere else!!!
Bilash Balti House – SwintonIf you have lived in Japan, eating here will give you a real burst of nostalgia. If you haven't, a meal here will give you an idea of what you're missing. It's the sort of good value, tasty food that you get in this sort of restaurant in Japan. As well as the food being well-prepared and presented the service achieves a balance of discretion and friendliness that is a real pleasure. I had a great meal here last Thursday. I was drawn in by the menu outside the door. They seem to have all the dishes that I miss from my years in Tokyo. Well, almost... If, like me, you yearn for okonomi-yaki you'll have to wait for the Christmas menu. I might try wangle myself another business trip to Manchester just for that.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreAndrew and Susan Bamford - Visited September 2008 - our second visit and took 2 friends - they were very impressed and said it was the best meal they had ever had (bearing in mind they have cruise everywhere with P & O this is definitely a recommendation). We would also compare this with cruise cuisine. As ever Howard and his staff were extremely attentive, fresh food 10/10, excellent wine/service and friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much we have booked in for New Years Eve with 10 of our friends and family and definitely know everything will be great.
Gallimores – WiganI went to Casa Nostra one Sunday Evening with my Wife & Child and was very disappointed the place needs a major make over, I have not been in here for years and it has not changed. The chairs tables and bar, looks like something from a dodgy Labour Club in the 70's. The food is not good either and we will not go again. Thanks
