Arnero – Manchester City CentreYou know you’re in for a treat when you enter the restaurant and see the amazing decor and know it will only get better when you take your place on a comfy seat at your table. First impressions are very important and the waiting staff at l’aquila do not disappoint, instantly getting to work to make sure your experience is a good one. And what an experience it is, from the barman presenting the wine bottle like we are royalty to the perfect presentation of the food! We shared a half and half garlic bread and the special prawn starter which were both immaculately presented and mouth-wateringly good. The ingredients were obviously fresh and if high quality as the taste exploded in your mouth. For mains we both chose a pasta dish and again both were such a delight! I took a gamble in trying the steak pasta as I’m not a huge steak fan but the strips of stake in my pasta were so tender flavourful I would recommend it to everyone! My husband went for a salmon and baby prawn pasta, which I took a little bite of, and what a ride of flavours! Each item in the dish had its own unique taste rather than blending into one which can happen with seafood dishes. Fresh and beautiful. Although we were certainly full by now it was so good that we couldn’t pass the opportunity to try the desserts, after a short break to settle the mains. Again, immaculate presentation of a rich but not sickly sticky toffee pudding and a beautiful, light crème brûlée. We ended the night with a special cocktail each, both with such unique flavours but gorgeous none the less. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend l’aquila. I will certainly be going back!
L’Aquila Prestwich – PrestwichSuch a lovely atmosphere. Food and service was quick and efficient, would defo come again :)
Boogalu – Northern QuarterWas looking forward to visiting Boogalu, unfortunately when we arrived we had to wait around 15 minutes to even be given a food menu, I had to find a waitress to ask for this. Then when we decided what we wanted, no one came for another 15 minutes, I had to ask if we had to pay at the counter, the service to attend to customers was unfortunately so slow. This meant we were running late for our event that we were meant to be going to later on in the evening. Again, the bill took ages to come and we had to ask three waiters until it finally came. Also, we were informed that there were no fish tacos, which is what I wanted on the menu. It was also very cold every time the door opened and I was surprised to see the service charge was taken off the full price as opposed to the final price after the 50% off. Hopefully these teething issues will be fixed.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterExcellent Food, drinks and atmosphere. Will visit again when the live music is on.
The Art of Tea – DidsburyThe food and ambience were great when we visited, plus the serving staff were friendly and polite. The only thing that detracted from the whole experience was having to wait almost an hour between starters and mains; this seemed a very long time considering the restaurant wasn’t busy.
Panama Hattys Grill – PrestwichGreat meal as always. Wonderful service. Lovely food. Family favourite for special occasions.
Anatolian Grill – PrestwichLovely atmosphere in this family run restaurant. Attentive service with a smile. Oh the food, that was fantastic. Lovely for our on Mother’s Day.
Gnammy Italy – StockportWe visited for mothers day and despite it being busy we could fault the standard of food! Everything was lovely empty plates all round! As a newly diagnosed coeliac I felt very comfortable eating here the staff knew about gluten free. There was a bit of a wait between half our party getting food before the other but that was due to it being busy however everything arrived hot and we all enjoyed it.
Panama Hattys Grill – PrestwichFantastic.
La Sentidos Loca – WiganMother's Day . Absolutely gorgeous food, lovely setting, just Perfect My favorite Restaurant, lovely polite staff
Panama Hattys Grill – PrestwichWe came for Mother's day we loved it. The food was amazing. The service was excellent.
The Rising Moon – HydeFood fantastic, as always and the staff are so friendly. It’s my favourite restaurant.
Anatolian Grill – PrestwichSix of us had dinner here on Mother’s Day. As soon as we walked through the door there was a welcome with a lovely smile! We were seated and ordered drinks and food. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and all our plates left empty! Will visit again soon.
Gnammy Italy – StockportWhat an exceptional experience for Mother's Day lunch. It was very busy but the service was excellent, the staff were polite and the food was divine.
The Rising Moon – HydeWe reserved a table at Boogalu having seen the menu online and being particularly excited for fish tacos and the lamb birria tacos. When we arrived the waitress informed us that there was no seafood, no lamb and no tofu, which took out a good chunk of the menu (around half of the mains). I think that the staff should have rung us on the day of our booking to tell us this, as we could have decided to go elsewhere. Instead we arrived and were instantly disappointed and debated whether to leave, but due to the rain and having no other plan, we stayed. The restaurant was very, very cold and the atmosphere was pretty depressing as the music was all really slow and sad. We expected more of a lively soundtrack given the instagram posts and the theme of the bar/restaurant. The food we did have was pretty nice, and I did order a second portion of the pork tacos. The cocktails were good too, with a nice selection. At 50% off the food was decent value, but might have felt less so at full price. Not ridiculous though. Our waitress was really nice and did well to try and save our visit from being terrible. She was incredibly friendly and fed back our comments to her manager. She did a really good job. I hope in a few weeks the teething problems are sorted and everything is running smoothly. There is definitely potential for this to be a nice restaurant and Manchester really needs another Mexican restaurant :) I would say having a slightly bigger menu in general would be good, as then if things run out there are more options.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterFood was GREAT however wasn't worth the money, service was terrible, it was like being sat in an ice cube, our orders came wrong, some items weren't available, our bill was also wrong and we were served 2 cocktails in the 2 and half hours we were there...
Boogalu – Northern QuarterLovely restaurant. Food is delicious, the service is excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Would recommend without hesitation.
