Pacifica Cantonese – EcclesEmphasis, food wise, is on quality - certainly the tapas and burgers are a few chef's hats away from the usual standard. Portions are generous and there is a warm, friendly and casual atmosphere helped along by beers from Bazens and the Marble Brewery and a jukebox from heaven.
The Knott – Manchester City Centrewell worth a visit. Friendly yet professional staff and an all round great atmosphere. The food is a bit pricey compared to similar places, but you certainly get what you pay for, it was delicious, perfectly cooked and well presented. I will be going back soon.
Belmore Hotel – SaleI have to say, Panama Hattys has now become top of the list for me in dining experiences. It does exactly 'what it says on the tin.' It serves wholesome food in a very comfortable environment, with service as important as its quality of food and drink. It casts aside pretentiousness. The food portions are huge, the price is reasonable, and what? more, the staff don? buzz around you for the entire evening, but yet, are always on hand if you require anything. They are warm and friendly, while also being professional. I have sat in the lounge after my meal a few times and had many a conversation with staff or management, they really are that approachable, which in my eyes, tops the experience off nicely. The range of food choice is immense, something for everyone. The chefs know how to combine the correct amount of spices and ingredients (i once asked for my Lamb Goreng to be given some extra heat, and this was done with no fuss, and tasted fab). The bar staff were able to make cocktails for us that weren? on the menu, and even talked us through how to create them at home (which I do, but they still don? quite come out as good) I really want this place to stay as one of my hidden little gems, but I feel I now have a duty to give it the credit it deserves and spread the word. See for yourself.
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreHad a lovely meal in Coriander last night. Very friendly service. We had starters and poppadoms and when we asked for more poppadoms we were advised not to as then we wouldn't eat out main dinner! The main courses were lovely, myself being a meat eater and my partner a vegetarian found plenty of choice and unusual dishes from their recommended section. As the restaurant states, it is not greasy food and I am normally struggling to eat a whole curry but I managed to eat the whole lot! The coconut rice as recommended by someone else on this site IS delicious! Well recommended I will certainly be going there again and will use it as my main take out place now! Fab place!
Coriander – ChorltonFantastic!!! Strongly recommend to anyone and everyone! The best dining experience my girlfriend and I have had in our lives.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City Centrepricey....... but worth every bite, the atmosphere is another compliment to the experience. the spacious balcony adds to the crisp decor and an excellent display of beverages.
Pacifica Cantonese – Ecclesgreat little find! the sign outside was a little tacky but inside it was second to none! the food was delicious and the service very good - they had three large parties the night we went but it didn't mean that we got neglected! excellent chinese - highly recommended!
Gonbay – AltrinchamA decent Japanese restaurant with reasonably well-picked and well-cooked ingredients. The downside of the place is that it can often be very loud. The last time I went, my partner and I shared a table with about 20 others who were celebrating someone's birthday. If you're looking for an intimate, romantic venue then this isn't for you. If you're looking for good Japanese food, cooked in a lively environment with a large group of people, it's great!
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreSimply outstanding. Certainly THE best Indian restaurant in Manchester and the best I have ever been to. After over 12 visits, it has never been less than superb, and the prices are amazing. You must try this place!
Akbars – Manchester City CentreJust average. Nothing impressive, but then nothing dire. The menu looks impressive with a wide range of dishes in many different styles, but more than a few of the dishes have been poorly conceived and just don't work. The standard of cooking also appears to be inconsistent. Ambience is OK. It's just an OK restaurant. Don't get carried away!
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreA really enjoyable experience. It can be a gamble when trying new cuisine but the staff are very helpful, and when food is cooked as well as it is here, the adventure can be a delight. Highly recommended for something a little different, done very well.
Topkapi Palace – Manchester City CentreI used to love Chinese food, but after so many disappointing meals in countless faceless Chinese restaurants, I lost my love. I wasn't sure what to expect from Pacific but I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu is one of the best I have seen in a Chinese restaurant. Great mixes and a wide selection. Service was a little ropey but the quality of the food more than made up for it. This restaurant alone has genuinely reignited my love for Chinese food. Fantastic!
Pacific – Manchester City CentreGreat food, not that great service. Seems to be a little inconsistent. Do try the ostrich fillet - it's fantastic. Not so sure about the Kobe fillet - at £50 a pop it's overpriced and not a little underwhelming.
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City CentreGreat for lunch. Menu has changed slightly over the last year or so. In my opinion it's not as good and the range has certainly been shrunk, but it's still a good place with decent service.
Croma – Manchester City CentreYou would be hard pressed to find a better deli anywhere ... I know my sandwiches and the sandwiches at north star cannot be beaten.
North Star Deli – ChorltonFood & service have always been good. Soft Furnishings getting a little tired. A little on the pricey too compared to some other local Chinese restaurants.
