Lal Qila – RusholmeI recently visited for a birthday celebration. It was fantastic. Entertainment excellent (kids and adults). I would recommend it for any occasion.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreVisited in a busy saturday night, wine was okay but food was pretty good with quality service. Starters were lovely, having chosen the seared raw tuna and my husband had cray fish tails on garlic brushetta, but he did find that a little over -zealous with the pepper. For mains we had Monkfish wrapped in Parma ham, - very nice and perfectly cooked, but unfortunately my husbands lamb did have to go back to the kitchen, as it was tough as old boots, so he reordered and chose the chicken which he said was pretty good. The only gripe i do have is that we were charged the price for the lamb - the chicken dish was cheaper on the menu, and a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill, which on the menu said would be added on parties of 6 and over, we would return, but i would not be in a mad rush to do so.
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City Centreagreed that if this large restaurant is quiet it can be a little 'too big' BUT !!!!!!! the food is excellent and you get a much different feel when it is busy(fri and sat nights),we love our curry and this is a very good curry house, trust me you will not be disappointed.
Bower Fold Spice – StalybridgeAbsolutely outstanding, my GF said "I feel like I'm in Spain". Praise indeed. A bit tricky to find but well worth the hunt! A marvellous establishment.
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreGreat place for a good night or Sunday lunch out. Full carvery available along with a good pub menu - excellent specials - especially their chilli. Down side, chill not often enough and children are allowed to run around in the pub area - parents fault but pub needs to have words.
Rose ‘N’ Bowl The – RochdaleThis Indian takeaway is by far the nicest takeaway I have ever been to. They have a wide selection of foods, coffee whilst you wait and the staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone. Keep up the good work.
Moonlight Tandoori – WiganThere's no air-conditioning and it's all smoking so if that's not for you, stay clear. The bar and toilets are looking tired and in need of a makeover. Food quality went downhill during 2006 and after 3 consecutive bad meals I stopped eating there. I'm still a regular drinker there but be careful of the drinks. It's top price drinks on Canal Street for spirits and they are the cheap generic brands. On the upside, the staff are friendly and the place had a good atmosphere. They don't let in hen parties and the music level allows for conversations. It's one of the few bars on Canal Street that seems to maintain a consistent clientele. Once they get back on their game it could be a great place again and I?l hopefully be back eating there.
Taurus Cafe Bar and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreHaven't been here for over 10 years and just as good then as it is now. Surprised to walk in and get a table Saturday evening without booking. Food very good especially Aromatic Crispy Duck and service A1.
Cherry Tree – HaleValentinos is really nice. I recommend it to everyone!
Marmaris Turkish Cuisine – StockportI took my mum here for Sunday Lunch as a birthday treat and was very impressed. The service was friendly and very good. The food was excellent across the board - especially the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I would definitely go again.
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyI have wanted to try this place for ages and I was not disappointed. It's not the easiest place to find though. I had a range of tapas and my mum had the creamed chicken main course - both were excellent. I especially liked the Tortilla Espanola which was the best I've had outside Spain. There was a nice atmosphere there too. I would definitely go again.
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreA lovely little restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Ordered a Thai Green Curry and honestly, it's the best I've ever had by a long shot. Will be frequenting this great place as often as I can.
Phothong Thai Restaurant – Ashton Under LyneI go to Giovanni? quite often been around 4 or 5 times now and it gets better and better each time
Giovanni Italian Restaurant – Droylsdenwhat can i say>? this place just makes me a very happy man.. i bring all my girlfriends her..in turn.. not all at same time ho ho.. they so impressed they want to marry me.. i wish. no, on a more serious note { i do bring my dates here} this has to be the best restaurant i have been to, and i'm quite the connoisseur when it comes to eating. food fantastic, great service not to mention the pretty waterfall, fish and little foot bridge. romantic to say the least.
Jitrada Thai Restaurant – SaleVisited here with my husband and a friend as it was one of the few places open on a Monday night. The food was OK but the decor and ambience were sorely lacking ~ to be honest it felt like a conference room ~ Big, White and Blocky with a style that came straight from the nearest Ikea. It was that empty (there was our table of 3 and a table of 2 in at 8pm) that we felt we were in the waiters way. Other than that the food was as mentioned of good quality, well priced and there was plenty of it!
Bower Fold Spice – StalybridgeFood was very good, though rather sweeter than expected from previous thai experiences. Felt that it was rather expensive and service was rather lacklustre and with the wrong food brought at one point. Wouldn't actively go there again as there are plenty of better restaurants in Manchester.
Koh Samui Thai Restaurant – Manchester City CentreVery good restaurant. Nice to go somewhere where big steaks and cigars are the done thing. One or two others suggested it should be non-smoking, perhaps they could go to some non-smoking restaurants (there are plenty) rather than making puritanical rants about how everywhere should be designed just for them. They would have enjoyed Hitler's company, the first militant anti-smoker.
