English Lounge – Northern QuarterBeen going to El Rincon now for a good few years, I highly recommend the tapas, (love the mussels) have yet to sample the calamari, every time I order it's not on the menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff and the owner used to play for Stockport County!
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreIm from Surrey and was told to visit the English Lounge, for a true English Experience, and let me tell you it was....The food was excellent, and of good value, a good choice and range of continental dishes, cooked perfect, I couldn't hardly move to get to the cinema, a great place to eat, and drink some good ranges of beers.
English Lounge – Northern QuarterAn uplifting experience, even if you were to pop your head in the 'English Lounge', staff, apart from being outstanding in service, were approachable, and funny!!! The food, beautiful, plentiful, and more presentable than some other expensive restaurants I have visited....Well done on the re-furbishment, a real experience.
English Lounge – Northern QuarterWe used to have our Sunday breakfast in the lead station and then they messed with the plain lovely food and added scrambled egg instead of fried and lots of herbs to the sausages etc we now go for Sunday breakfast elsewhere.
Lead Station – Chorltonfantastic
Royal Nawaab – LevenshulmeI love Grinch, have been going for years but can only get to it once a year now since we moved. It? consistently good, reliable and the attitude of the staff refreshing. Unpretentious food well executed, presented and at a good value. I don? know why they are not on Sugarvine, so that everyone knows about them.
Mud Crab at Grinch – Manchester City CentreGreat Great Great!!!
Kebabish Original – RusholmeHighly recommended for a nice night out, the specials starter menu is fantastic and I would recommend the mussels and thin sliced raw beef. This is the nicest Italian we have been to and the service is very attentive
Azzurro Restaurant – DidsburyThe food is fantastic. You must go there and try the best of Persian foods.
Persia Grill House – ChorltonA real classic, a must for anyone, makes a nice change from Rusholme.
Fuzion Noodle Bar – FallowfieldI have followed Carlos, the owner of Casa Carlos, around Wigan since he first started trading at the Seven Star on Preston Road outside Standish. His food his authentic, tasty, not too expensive. Casa Carlos has been refurbished in a contemporary style and his very pleasant. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of Spanish staff (but that is a personal opinion) and may be a bit more training for the staff, which seem young and inexperienced (but not unpleasant!). All in all, if you are looking for some good spanish food, go there, you won't be disappointed.
Casa Carlos – WiganConsistently good quality and probably the best Chinese food in the area. Staff always friendly without being intrusive. Strongly recommend a visit
Chinese Garden – WiganMy first visit here was at the least, very very entertaining. The service was top notch. For example, our lively host, seeing there was only 2 of us, went out of his way to find us a cosy table for 2. The food was excellent - and you do get lots of it so come hungry! Throughout our meal the waiters made sure we were at ease - and this was on a busy Saturday night. I'd definitely return again and again.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreWent to Velvet on a Wednesday night and the whole evening was brilliant. Huge portions!! They do an offer of a starter & main for £11.95 from 3-7pm & it was well worth it as that? the price for a main dish alone. Our table had mussels to start, and a mixed combo (mussels were delicious) and then Moroccan Lamb (beautifully cooked on a tomato-stew like base) and a sirloin steak with masses of chips & a huge salad. We couldn? finish our main courses & next time (there will definitely be a next time!) would probably just opt for mains! A brilliant, intimate, lavishly furnished restaurant - perfect for drinking copious amounts of wine with delicious food. Brilliant!
Velvet – Manchester City CentreMy wife and I eat regularly here and the food is really outstanding. Cost for a meal for two including starter with 1/2 litre of wine was around £37 which we consider to be excellent value for money
Benvenuti – Bramhallunbelievable, definitely the best chinese restaurant in europe.
