They had a new a la carte menu, which seemed to excite the staff from their enthusiasm for it and the Brill in particular which was pretty damn fine!! Go give it a go, not bad for a hotel!!!

The Dining Rooms @ Worsley Park – Worsleylove the mushroom ravioli xXx
Frankie and Bennys – Trafford CentreWe ate here for my Girlfriend's 40th and we we're both very impressed with the quality of the food and service - the staff were very polite and friendly. The restaurant itself is modern looking and recommended for taking someone for a special meal - in my opinion. We ate in the China restaurant - I have had the Thai lunch buffet in the past and that was amazing for what you have to pay. Try this restaurant.
Pacific – Manchester City Centrei love the empire, their aromatic ducks are gorgeous
Empire – UrmstonWent to Grinch for the first time on Saturday. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were huge. Quality bar, with excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere. I have found my new regular haunt.
Mud Crab at Grinch – Manchester City CentreMy partner and I were really looking forward to eating at Green's. We love eating at good gourmet vegetarian restaurants and have chef Simon Rimmer's book, The Accidental Vegetarian, which is brilliant for high-quality everyday veggie cooking. Our first impressions, to be honest, were not great. First, you walk in and sit down to a backdrop of pumping music that would be more appropriate for a pub or bar than a gourmet restaurant. It didn't make for the most relaxing meal. Second, our first offering was the complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic options. Mistake! The bread was way too full on to accompany an olive oil and frankly the olive oil was totally flavourless. Tasted like one of those olive oil light cooking oils that you get from the supermarket. Bit more research needed on both bread and oil Simon! However, thankfully, the rest of the food was FANTASTIC. Simple, straightforward menu excellently prepared with fresh ingredients, cooked beautifully and with care. Loved the Roquefort cheesecake and both the butternut squash gnocchi and roulade. Creme Brulee, aside from being a tiny bit too burnt, was creme at its best (and I've made creme brulees a mission in life) and the vanilla cheesecake creamy and sumptuous. Clearly these guys are an authority on cheesecakes of all kinds. A word about wine selection. They should do a sparkling wine by the glass, which they don't, and the range could be more extensive. But all round a really yummy veggie meal. Not up there with Denis Cotter at Cafe Paradiso in Cork or Terre a Terre in Brighton, but great nonetheless.
Greens – DidsburyI had heard and read a lot about the excellent reputation at Yang Sing, especially for vegetarians, so my partner and I were looking forward to an superb Chinese meal. I have to say we were a bit disappointed. Can I first say that you can't fault the service. Our main waitress was Iris and she was extremely attentive and genuinely helpful and keen to advise us on the menu and ordering. However, our first criticism is that Yang Sing seems to solely target the large parties for its food. For couples it is not satisfactory. We wanted to order a number of dishes for two, but because quantities are only available in dishes aimed at parties of four or six, we were advised to order only two. And with huge bowls of noodles and beancurd in front of us, let me tell you, we were soon sick of both. We would have liked smaller servings, priced more reasonably, so that we could have the same options to try different items on the menu as a larger party. And in terms of quality, to be honest, it's supposed to authentic, etc. and it was pretty average. I've had better Chinese food. I would recommend this venue for a party night out (hen, stag, going out drinking) where the food itself is not the main object, but certainly not a quality dinner for two.
Yang Sing – Manchester City CentreVery friendly and welcoming..Lovely food and value for money.
Lal Quilla Restaurant – WiganAs restaurants go this was something a bit special. Great food, superb service and Ambience that made me not want to leave. The laughing Buddha has rekindled my love for Chinese cooking
Laughing Buddha – DidsburyI've only dined here once but it was a decent meal with an excellent ambience. You can also pop in just for a drink. I am planning to return soon.
La Vina – HaleExcellent restaurant. Food is very good and fairly unique for Manchester
Petra – RusholmeNever had bad service here! Brilliant atmosphere (especially those lazy Sunday afternoon, with the DJ playing in the background!). Has been and will be favourite hang-out in the Village! Don't change what you're doing because you've got it right!
Tribeca Bar and B.E.D – Manchester City CentreI must have driven past this restaurant many times without realising it was there. But, on a friend's recommendation, my partner & I tried it tonight. We were not disappointed. A dish of mixed olives and pickles arrived as a freebie while we looked through the menu. It's fairly standard middle eastern fare. Anyone who has eaten at Aladdin in Withington or the Cedar Tree in the city centre will instantly recognise the dishes. But some of them come with a welcome bit of a twist. We shared three starters (you really can't restrict yourself to one each in a middle eastern restaurant) - Babaghanouj came as the standard aubergine and tahini dip, but the added tomato and pomegranate sauce added a sweetness; a very nice lemony tabouleh and one hot item - Ftayer (deep fired pastry filled with spinach, onions, herbs). We both followed with kebabs - my partner had a Shish while I had the mixed kebab (one skewer each of shish, chicken and kofta), accompanied with salad and rice. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, Petra is not licensed but will let you bring your own (for which they charge £1). I don't drink and my partner didn? fancy alcohol so we just had a bottle of sparkling water. Enjoyed all the dishes and was pleasantly surprised to get a bill just under £35. We'll be back. John
Petra – RusholmeThis is probably the most original 'Indian' restaurant in Rusholme!! There is a host of dishes available on the menu that cannot be found anywhere else in Rusholme!! (Look out for the Masala Dhosa). I would also suggest the Koftas. They are sensational!! My girlfriend and I just can't seem to have enough of them!! The staff are also very friendly and it is definitely worth a visit!
Punjab Tandoori – RusholmeExcellent service with a smile and great food. We did not have to wait long. Definitely will come back.
Cinnamon – RusholmeThe food was delicious and the service was the same, all the staff were cheerful and willing to meet our every need, I will definitely be going again!!!
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleVisited your restaurant on sat 12 March. Made to feel very welcome and service was efficient and staff were very helpful and friendly. Food (all courses)was 1st class. You will be a great success. Will return very soon. ARRY & JOAN GISENAN
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreWe booked for a busy Friday night, and I half expected the service to be a little lax from some of the reviews on the page, but I was pleasantly surprised! The young waiter was excellent and the food matched. I had a fillet of Brill for starter, which was cooked perfectly, with an equally delicious beetroot salad. To follow came fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef, which was melt in the mouth tender, seasoned well, with an onion jam, which was an excellent accompaniment. One criticism I did have is that my steak was underdone. I asked for it medium rare, and it came blue / rare, but was good either way. Dessert was a special, chocolate and hazelnut soufflé, which stood a good 2 inches proud of the copper pan in which it was served, and was gooey in the middle. Perfect. All I can say is ... BOOK NOW
