Cafe Lahore – OldhamTry the duck Pizza!
Pizza Express – DidsburyThis can soon become one of your favourite. City Centre Chinese Restaurants, the food is great, the staff can? do enough for you, very attentive - and the price is amazing. Worth going to for lunch.
Peking Court, The – Manchester City CentreWe visited Jem and I the first week it opened a couple of years ago, and were hugely impressed as both food and service were out of this world. We particularly reminisce about the melt in your mouth lamb (sadly no longer on the menu- and the chocolate pots!). Having raved to all our friends we have returned on numerous occasions, the last being yesterday night for my 30th birthday celebration, only to have our anticipations dashed. I always go out of my way to be a polite and courteous customer but found the staff to be surly and cold beyond belief. I really don't expect to get a dirty look when ordering a £20 bottle of wine and nearly £100 worth of food. We would like to look forward to our next visit, however I doubt this will occur, as it appears Jem and I have been unable to maintain the extremely high standards of service of their debut, gravely disappointing as this restaurant truly stood out against the competition. A great shame as the food continues to be fantastic, come on Jem, you can still rectify this, and when you do, we will be the first to enjoy your company once more.
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyThe staff seemed to forget that we were there and couldn't raise a smile. Starter was great, main course was bernie inn.
Velvet – Manchester City Centrehad a fantastic party night there. the food was great and we had great fun with crazy wendy.
Crazy Wendys – DidsburyThis is the city centre venture by the eponymous Wing, whose Cheadle Hulme restaurant has been a well kept secret for South Manchester residents for a number of years. He has continued the excellent, and out of the ordinary, range of dishes previously offered and transposed them into a luxurious City centre setting. The outcome is sheer joy! Another huge bonus is that Wings is open from 12 noon to 12 midnight, so searching for pre- or post - theatre eating is a thing of the past. Just try it - you will not be disappointed.
Wings – Manchester City CentreFantastic
Los Amigos – StockportAlways a favourite and absolutely wonderful since the refurb. The best place in South Manchester - enjoyable for Non Veggies as well as Veggies
Greens – DidsburyThe food was exellent and the guy serving us was very friendly and informative
Original Third Eye, The – DidsburyGreat place for steaks although on my visit the lamb ordered by my friend was cooked outside and not inside our starter of pumpkin soup was lovely although we found the wine menu expensive. It? a great place for a visit with Argentinean themes and saddle bar stools also t?s good to be able to see food being cooked which adds to the ambience of the place all in all not bad
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreWe are regular visitors to this friendly establishment. It is nice to have such authentic cuisine in our city. recommended for children ...we take ours regularly and they are well looked after
Petra – RusholmeExcellent food & a great setting. Will certainly be going again!
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganVisited here with my husband and 2 children 18/9/04. It was very busy but all the staff were very polite and nothing was too much bother. They made a fuss over my children who were in their element. Can't wait to return.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreGo on a Friday night if you like cool jazz. The atmosphere is terrific.
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreHaving spent a great deal of time in Spain I found the food very authentic and very well priced, Wine list could do with a few more selections but thats just me
Viva Espana – HorwichReally nice food, and the staff are brilliant. If you take someone for the first time and make sure they get the "special chicken" you'll get a sample of their sense of humour!
Spicy Hut – RusholmeAlthough the food was very good as was the ambience, the staff were over attentive which ruined the evening. It was hard to have a conversation or enjoy the night when the staff were waiting in the wings for my glass to be less than half full to top it up. We felt we were being rushed and weren? able to relax. In spite of this the meal was very nice.
