Casa Nostra – WesthoughtonHave been a loyal customer of the Gurkha Grill for many years, and the refurb was long overdue. The food is always very good, however it seems since they have expanded the prices have also. The last 2 times we went the service was awful, the restaurant has almost doubled in size but with no increase in waiting staff.
Gurkha Grill – DidsburyNandos is my favourite restaurant of all time. Myself and my Girlfriend visit regulary as the food there is absolutley addictive. the food is always hot and the sauce is always gorgeous and once you start eating you simply cant stop and just have to have more and more. I have never had any problems finding a table and the staff are always willing to help in anyway they can. nandos is a cracking little place to eat drink and be merry and is a sure fire hit to anyone with taste.
Nando’s – DidsburyThe portions make the prices very reasonable. After finally finishing my wild mushroom starter, I never got close to finishing the main course! Well recommended
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyQuality food, superb service. An outstanding dining experience on the canals of Manchester. Highly recommended!
City Centre Cruises – Manchester City CentreA truly enjoyable experience. Staff were subtly attentive, genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, about the product as a whole as well as being very confident in discussing wine, dessert options etc. I felt that they were really enjoying being there, almost as much as me, but not quite I expect.
The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel – Manchester City CentreAlways a great experience! Have been several times in the past 12 months and have never been disappointed. I like to save it for special occasions although would love to dine there every weekend!
Lime Tree – DidsburySeems to be the 'in' place for most of Altrinchams teenagers at the weekend.....
American Bar and Grill, The – Halerude staff nice food
Jade Garden – DidsburyIt was all good at the end.
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonThe best I have tasted so far have been back on two further occasions, they serve the best onion bahjis I have ever tasted, and Sami's platter is a must.
Kushoom Koly – StockportThe food was ok, but the service could have been better
Pond Quay Restaurant – UrmstonVisited on 13/12/03 was very surprised to see the variety of choice on the menu. There was an excellent selection of sea food on the "chefs specials" salmon & mussel pasta at £9.95 Shark loin on a ratatouille base at £10.95 starters one of which was tempura plaice goujons with wasabi dip at £4.65 A large selection of main meals such as Lamb & apricot pie at £7.75 The wine list varied from red at a Cotes du rhone for £9.95 to A beaune Premier CRU ropiteau for £21.50 whites £8.95 to £21.50 allegedly selected personally by Tim Atkin master of wine for the observer. All in All a very good selection of good food presented & served well for a pub outlet of Chef & Brewer. For the beer drinker Boddingtons, Smiths smooth & Courage directors.
Hare and Hounds – HydeMe and my partner went for our anniversary and really set the mood. A little peice of Italy right on our doorstep. We're definately going again. I reccomend this place to anyone who appreciates good food
Al Fresco – StockportThis restaurant is brilliant. The service and quality of food that was received was on a par with service received in a 5* hotel. The food was beautifuly prepared, presented and tasted amazing! Highly recommended
Abacus Restaurant – HorwichThe food is exceptional, the service outstanding and the atmosphere brilliant. I can't wait to go back and try the thai section upstairs.
Pacific – Manchester City Centre30 seconds away from the bright lights of the trendy modern bars and clubs that make up the Printworks sits the very old, but nevertheless magnificent Sinclairs Oyster Bar. Nicknamed 'The shambles', the building is a small wooden hut with two floors where the crowd, old and young alike come for an after work drink or to start a night on the town. Anything goes!! It has to be seen to be beleived, you will fall in love with the friendly atmosphere and the cheap beer, (Homebrew no less. The pils is lethal!) The pub was moved after the manchester bomb in 1996 and withstood the bomobs of WW2, the history is literally on the walls!! It proves to be a second home to many mancunian drinkers. Sitting outside in the nice weather is a must!!! The grubs not bad either!
Sinclairs Oyster Bar – Manchester City CentreFantastic food, service and live (modern) jazz! What more could a forty-something couple want? Seriously, this place is underpriced. My advice - get some while it's still cheap... Mr & Mrs Barrett.
