After a great visit to Vine a few weeks ago, we returned. Once again the food and service was excellent.
Vine – MiddlesbroughWent for Sunday Lunch, party of 4. It was one of the best lunches in this area by far. Amazing Yorkshire puddings, meat was delicious and vegetables cooked perfectly. We had various desserts which were all outstanding. Service was friendly, helpful and attentative. Will definitely be going back.
Vine – MiddlesbroughFood was amazing and service too highly recommend the steak snd lobster platter was unreal
Vine – MiddlesbroughAnother great evening spent at Vine, great food, good wine and finished with a couple of delicious rum old fashion cocktails. Looking forward to our next visit soon.
Vine – MiddlesbroughA group of four of us visited Vine this week. We had two vegetarian Sharing Boards amongst us with two sides of chips and two of sourdough. The meal was absolutely delicious and the service was brilliant! The weather was great so we ate at a table outside. It was an enjoyable visit from start to finish. We will certainly be visiting again soon.
Vine – MiddlesbroughFood was lovely, really good roast dinner!! The girl looking after our table was very friendly and helpful (blonde young lady with glasses) and a credit to the restaurant, keeping us up to date with delays, ensuring we had drinks etc. There was a little wait for our table and food but being fathers day we expected that and as we were told we really didn't mind! Cocktails were very nice too although there was no menu so had to guess what they could make! Also, called twice to confirm booking and emailed but it hadn't been updated when we arrived...little annoying but nothing major.
Vine – MiddlesbroughFabulous food and service as always 5 Stars ⭐️ ❤️
Vine – MiddlesbroughWe used to love vine restaurant but our last 2 visits have been horrendous . Last night we walked out before even placing our order . Asked for a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. To be told we don’t do that…. just house red or white . Tasted it and it was like vinegar . The menu on the website shows monkfish hence why we booked. Upon arrival the menu was completely different with limited choices . This used to be a busy restaurant . 8pm Friday night only 2 tables eating ?? The best thing about the place is the saxophonist
Vine – MiddlesbroughNo menus, and different food to what is on website. Waitress didn't know what drinks they had. Starters were overcooked and tasteless. Sunday lunch however, was really nice.
Vine – MiddlesbroughAmazing Food and Attentive Staff Our Favourite Restaurant In Middlesbrough
Vine – MiddlesbroughBest restaurant in Middlesbrough (and not only there, I think!). Despite a minor misunderstanding which was completely understandable given the stressful and busy Jubilee weekend, the service was super kind and the amazing and delicious food was well worth the wait! We would surely dine again at our very first chance!
Vine – MiddlesbroughWhat an absolute delight it is to come to the vine. As soon as we walked in we where approached by a lovely member of staff and asked to see if we would like a drink and if we would like to see the menu. After having a coffee we sat and just enjoyed having a chat with the bartender...we soon decided to have a cocktail (violet gin fizz is a must try) We decided to eat later on and food was delicious as always. I totally recommend a visit if not for food then a coffee or a cocktail is a must try! It's somewhere that's totally relaxing, exceptional service, great music and a must try.
Vine – MiddlesbroughI've previously had very good experiences at Vine, so it was disappointing to receive such poor service on this occasion. I hope that this otherwise very good neighbourhood restaurant will be able to resolve the systemic issues impacting diners. More, or more experienced, front of house staff on the Sunday lunch service seems to be a problem. We booked online, yet the staff did seem a little surprised to see us arrive, and no table was ready. In an otherwise empty dining room we were seated right next to a large and very loud birthday party who were obviously having a great time. I've no issue with that, but it would have been better service to seat our party, which included two young children, further away - as it was we could hardly hear ourselves speak. We were told there was no paper menu or wine list to view. The food menu was on the blackboard on the wall. I asked for a glass of pinot grigio, and was told they had none, and hadn't for several days (there's a Tesco store directly opposite the restaurant), an alternative was suggested. We also ordered jug of tap water for the table. Our food order was taken shortly afterwards, all the Sunday roast options were available (2.30pm) Time passed and we had not received our wine or water for the table. I reminded the staff who soon brought over the water. More time passed, I reminded the team about the wine again. Staff then brought a bottle of wine rather than the single glass I had ordered. Our food arrived and was great, well cooked and presented with the Yorkshire puddings a particular highlight. On their arrival we were asked if we'd like extra gravy, to which we said yes please. By the time we were half way through our meals the extra gravy had not been brought, and we needed to remind staff again. The staff did seem stressed by what ought to have been a simple Sunday lunch service. They were always friendly and polite, but seemed quite overwhelmed. No apology was made for the various issues with our experience. The bill at least did arrive promptly when requested, and was correct (although it already includes a discretionary service charge). Payment was processed quickly and efficiently. Vine has previously been a favourite restaurant, and one I've recommended. On Sunday I felt embarrassed to have recommended Vine to the visiting group of friends I was with. The food is still great, but the service we received will now make me pause before considering returning. Please do better!
Vine – MiddlesbroughBooked on line for a 3pm slot for Sunday lunch arrived to be greeted asking do I have a reservation I said yes to then be told your not on the list am I sure I’ve booked the right place! I told the lady I booked on the app and was told oh they shouldn’t let you do that when we are running out of food - let me check if there’s a table - while waiting was about to order a drink when she came back and told me there was only belly pork left ! It was not what I wanted so decided to quit while we were ahead and go elsewhere - DONT allow booking online if you cannot accommodate it
Vine – MiddlesbroughBest Sunday dinner in Middlesbrough!
Vine – MiddlesbroughExcellent food Excellent staff Excellent service!
Vine – MiddlesbroughThe food here was amazing. The staff are so polite and friendly. Despite being ran off her feet she was very attentive and apologised for any delay. (I think this was due to staff not turning in). The atmosphere is lovely and perfect for a chilled evening. The Irish coffee was also to die for. Been a few times and it’s always a pleasure. Would highly recommend going here.
Vine – MiddlesbroughFood was above average but overall overpriced for the quality and quantity. Oysters were nice and Ribeye steaks were very good and although the lobster was nice, more theatre than anything. My partner was hungry despite starter, sharing board and sides and he ate again when we got home! The venue decor is stunning and a nice vibe/ambience but it was cold inside and freezing in the toilets! The table was sticky, menu was tattered, filthy and sticky.
