The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeMy wife and I went for a meal accompanied by our Spaniel. The meal itself was excellent and the service was very attentive and we didn't have to wait for service and we're very impressed. Only problem is this pub is 200 miles away from us or we would be in most weekends for food and drinks
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely country pub, very cozy with excellent food and great friendly service. Been visiting the Wheatsheaf for a number of years and never had a bad meal. On our visit yesterday, really enjoyed the fish and chips and my wife loved her butternut squash and lentil dahl.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA group of us came for lunch after a funeral. We had booked. The staff were very good and we all enjoyed our meal. A good choice on the menu. We were not rushed away and will recommend it to others.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExperience at the Wheatsheaf, at the weekend was exceptional. We had booked a table for a birthday celebration and due to the numbers (10 people and 4 dogs), we were offered a table upstairs, which was beautifully arranged. Unfortunately on the day, one of the guests obtained an injury which resulted in them being unable to walk upstairs. The staff were amazing and did everything they could to accommodate us downstairs, so we could still all sit together. As a result, we had a fantastic night, the food, drink and service were brilliant. Thank you, to all the staff at the Wheatsheaf!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent meal, we both chose different dishes and were equally pleased with quality and quantity. Good service and friendly atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in the Wheatsheaf and would happily return.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAnother lovely meal at the Wheatsheaf, we use it as the lunch option for walks in the area (with people coming from Manchester and the North East) and have never been disappointed. We will be back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely pub. Great food as always. Had some friends over from Manchester and took them for lunch. They loved it. Lovely atmosphere Good surroundings Polite friendly staff Good food
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe felt that the food arrived far too quick, inside 10 minutes, almost as though we were being rushed out. The menu is very limited and we knew this but had assumed there would be quite a few specials. There were about 4 specials but not a great choice. I picked the chicken burger off the specials and my wife picked the salmon with potatoes but misunderstood that this came with cold uncooked vegetables. Anyway, my burger was ok but he chips were thin fries like McDonalds fries with a small limp side salad. My wife said her salmon and potatoes were ok but she want keen on the abundance of raw carrot, cucumber and raddish! Overall, we were disappointed and probably wouldn’t go back. Also, we are both slim and not big eaters who normally only eat one course, but we both needed a desert to fill ourselves up!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent place to stay or just visit for food and drink. Lovely room and the breakfast was pretty much perfect as well as the food in the evening. Staff were so friendly and helpful, would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeJust got back from a wonderful overnight stay. We had previously lunched at The Wheatsheaf which was fabulous, so we couldn’t wait to sample dinner It didn’t disappoint, excellent food (portions are on the large side, so be warned), great selection of beers and wines. Service was excellent too The hotel room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and the shower was great too. Breakfast was just amazing. Lovely fruit platter to start and then a full English breakfast using quality ingredients. Wonderful toast and jam to finish off. They even made us an extra pot of tea for our flask as we were heading off for a walk. 5 star service! Thank you
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFive of us really enjoyed lunch at the Wheatsheaf yesterday. Warm environment, warm welcome, lovely food, extensive menu. Well done.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeJust back from a wonderful 2 night break. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was fabulous and all freshly cooked to order. Dinner was delicious with huge portions and a fabulous choice. But most importantly by far was the amazing customer service, every single member of staff was attentive, friendly and really went the extra mike. It’s a stunning old building in a fabulous location, thank you for a wonderful weekend.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpePerfect country pub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The owners understand lighting and have candles on all tables, which makes a huge difference. The food was good too. Highly recommended!
