Had a lovely pub lunch. Food was yummy.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeStayed here for a one night Sunday special. We have stayed here previously and it has always been a wonderful place to stay and eat but to be honest on this occasion it was very muck lacking in the quality of food offered in particular the sunday roast was very very disappointing, a crisp roast potato and meat quality is the heart of every roast and these where certainly lacking, the roasters had obviously been stood for some while as I could have bounced them off the wall if required!! I mentioned to the young waiter but he wasnt forth coming with any viable options not even an apology for the lack of quality. The rooms and drinks service were fine but hte meal spoiled what was supposed to be a weekend treat.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeArrived slightly earlier than our booking but was invited to have a drink until kitchen opened at 5.00pm. Service from all concerned was polite and jolly. Our order was taken as soon as th kitchen was open. Meals looked good when they arrived and tasted even better. We were going for Sunday roast but my wife decided to have fish and chips we she said was lovely. I got tempted by the Steak & Stout pie which I found tasty and delicious. All in all very deleted with our meals. We have previously eaten out here for a Sunday roast which was also delicious. They advertise a Sunday roast and stay with breakfast by an open fire, May do that later in the year when it's a bit colder.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeReally friendly staff. Nothing is too much bother. Nice clean rooms. Lovely hot rainfall shower. Toiletries good quality products. Our room had a huge double bed, very atmospheric and very clean. Already looking to book another stay. The pub blends the modern and the old very well
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeI eat out a lot, especially pub food and often fish and chips and I can honestly say The Wheatsheaf’s fish and chips were the best I've sampled in a long time. Fish so fresh, batter so crisp and thin, everything really hot with delicious triple-cooked chips — and, for once, the right portion of chips too, not overwhelming the dish. I can recommend the Roberto soup too, quirky but very tasty. I scoffed the lot ! Very pleasant and efficient service and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back even though I live quite a way away.
