The Royal Oak – NantwichWent for a mix week visit as a table of 5. The food and the service was very good. The staff where very friendly and most on the night came to the table. The menu was good value and we will definitely be back.
The Royal Oak – NantwichThe food was excellent. Service was really good, considering how busy they were. (Not surprising due to how good the food was.) I very much recommend this place. Once you've been, you'll keep coming back.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWe visited The Royal Oak on Sunday 3rd July and were very pleased that it was a Sunday Roast on the menu as we didn't see this on the website. They were a little slow in taking the orders (only to be expected as new staff finding their way around) but it was definitely worth the wait. We booked our table for 2pm and everything on the menu was available. We had the prawn cocktail and short rib bon bons for starters and roast beef to follow. Everything was cooked to perfection! Roast beef was delicious and tender and the veggies cooked perfectly and not swimming in butter! We will definitely be visiting again in the very near future. Well done to all the team, you made our first visit a welcoming one!
The Royal Oak – NantwichSunday lunch 3rd July Attended the pub on the above date and found the experience quite mixed. When we arrived we were told that half of the starter menu was no longer available (however an alternative was offered). Service was quite slow and had to wait over half an hour for the main course after the starter. However, the biggest issue was the fact that the regular menu (found on your website) was not available on a Sunday. This would’ve been ok had this been advertised on your website and to make it clear that there is a set menu on a Sunday. Also, if you are willing to offer the vegan burger option as an alternative to the Sunday roast, then please can you cater for people who are not vegans and wish to be offered the choice of a regular burger please? I also noticed on your website menu that you offer a vegan lasagne and vegan cottage pie, but no traditional lasagne or cottage pie? It is obviously a very good move to cater for vegan customers to which no sensible person would have an issue with, including myself, but not everyone in today’s world is vegan, or wants to eat vegan food, so surely it isn’t too much to ask to offer the traditional non-vegan alternatives to what are very popular pub meal options. Your pub is beautiful, wonderful setting in an incredible building and grounds, just please offer more choice and cater for all customers.
The Royal Oak – NantwichI echo the sentiments of the reviews. The main problem as I see it is that their needs to be more staff for a busy night like Saturday. Lovely place.
The Royal Oak – NantwichThe meal was lovely, staff very friendly the only thing was the service was slow
The Royal Oak – NantwichSo glad this restaurant is now open, a great addition to the area. Overall a lovely meal. It felt like staff were still getting used to things, they got tables and our order a little confused and couldn't really advise on food choices but they were so friendly and willing to help. The pub and dining area is beautiful. We can't wait to visit again to make use of the outdoor area.
The Royal Oak – NantwichI abs hate writing a bad review but here goes. The table wasn’t set The cutlery was just put in the middle of the table Food wasn’t available then not even chips were available. Service was slow Puddings were cheaply done Waitresses constantly checking their phones. You have a beautiful pub in a great setting, up your game!
The Royal Oak – NantwichWhat a find! Superb Sunday lunch and a sticky toffee pud to die for. Visited today on spur of moment on a drive around. Staff attentive. The hosts were so friendly but not overly so, just right. Lovely welcome and to have them say cheerio was great. Made us feel we'd visit again.. And we will
The Thatch Inn – NantwichBeen going to Indian Ocean for over 10 years best I have been to ,good food friendly staff nothing to much trouble for them.
Indian Ocean – NantwichJust goes to show how wrong some reviews can be. Recent visit left a lot to be desired about the food here. All meals in our party were to say the least, below average, and very small portions, and considering the slimeed down menu and over pricing it makes it even worse. Real shame, as this was always an excellent restaurant and one we visited and recommended regularly. NOT ANY MORE!!! We believe it has recently changed hands and would appear not for the better, pity, 3 out of 10 only.
The Thatch Inn – NantwichI have to say this was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I took my two kids for a Fathers day meal. There was nobody in the restaurant when we went in, but it was quite early so I thought that was ok even though a little unusual considering it was Fathers day. They had a special offer menu for lunch and early dinner. Which was 7.95 for 1 course and 9.95 for 2 courses. I ordered Calamari and a Pizza, my son just ordered 1 course flattened rump steak and my daughter chose from the A la Carte menu just a Margarita pizza. The Calamari was ok, quite a small portion so not such a good deal ordering the 2 dishes. My sons steak and my daughters pizza looked ok, but just ok. My pizza sounded really nice, Pizza with tomato, mozzarella, rocket italian ham and gran padano cheese shavings, very typical pizza you will find in italy so I thought it was a quite authentic choice. What I got was a margarita pizza with a few scattered leaves of rocket and a slice of italian ham laid on top pulled apart in an attempt to look like more and no Gran Padano at all. I took one look and was immediately disappointed with what sounded like a nice pizza looking so very sorry for itself. The waiter took it back and returned with a little slither of extra ham still no more rocket and still no sign of any gran padano cheese. It would have cost them nothing to at least attempt to appease a very disapointed customer so that we could all enjoy our meal. The waiter just dumped it down and said is that ok. I was honest and said doesn't really look much different which it didn't, the waiter then tried to explain it was because i had ordered from the specials menu (7.95) as appose to the A La Carte (9.49) so not a special as we where eating early in an all but empty restaurant, just a short measure! hardly the cheapest pizza at 7.95 either! I was disgusted by their complete lack of customer service, so told the waiter to forget it and said I didn't want it all. There was no offer to make good, no manager asking why I had felt so disappointed, no offer of another dish, just left me without a meal and my kids eating theirs, not a very nice Fathers day meal that turned out to be. As if that wasn't enough, when I asked for the bill they tried to charge me for the pizza I didn't have! I refused to pay for a meal I didn't have and was disgusted that they didn't even realise that they had ruined the whole meal for us all. Despite that I was willing to pay for what we did have. The manager or owner not sure what he was then threatened to call the police if I didn't pay for it ALL including the pizza I didn't have. Oh and told me I wasnt welcome back again! It was just horrendous I am 45 years old and have eaten in many restaurants throughout the world. Hands down this restaurant is the worst dining experience I have ever had.
Romazzino – NantwichHad a excellent meal very authentic enjoyed the environment and the ambience of the evening. In the past I have visited various italian and Sicilian venues and have eaten traditional foods at my close Sicilian friends homes. I find Romazzino on the same par x
Romazzino – NantwichAbsolutely the best Indian cuisine available in the Crewe and Nantwich Area, whether your eating in or taking home. I first met the owner about 30 years ago, whilst undertaking my first ever job, cleaning pots at an Indian restaurant in Crewe, he is the most honest/reliable guy you'd ever meet, his staff mostly consist of family and close friends. Call in, you won't be disappointed. Happy eating!!!!!
