It was okay, the tomato and pesto flat bread to start was lovely, but the rest of the meal was a bit disappointing; bland and long wait for a quiet lunch time.

The Scrumpy Willow and Singing Kettle – Newcastle City CentreNo fuss, relaxed atmosphere to eat excellent quality food with good range of western-chinese and chinese dishes at very reasonable prices. I'm still working my way through the menu and haven't had a bad experience yet. The staff are very friendly and always willing to explain the less familiar dishes to us.
Chinatown Express – Newcastle City CentreReally good home from home food. Big range from excellent breakfasts to supper ( you can take your own bottle). Very good sandwiches - real bread and no packaging. Food organic and very fresh. Nice people running the place and there's a nice atmosphere to the place.
The Scrumpy Willow and Singing Kettle – Newcastle City CentreMarvellous!
Munchies – Newcastle City CentreI visited Newcastle for a long weekend and ate here three times - it was so good. I am a veggie and there were excellent veggie and vegan choices - the beetroot soup was first rate and the bean chilli delicious and spicy. One of my companions had an omelette which looked very good indeed. Additionally, there was plenty for the meateater - seemingly the sausages are outstanding and the lamb casserole very popular- all the meat is locally sourced and all food is organic.
The Scrumpy Willow and Singing Kettle – Newcastle City CentreMy wife and I must have hit a bad spot. We saw Luigi's while in Newcastle fro a short break, on Tuesday evening September 4th. My wife is a vegetarian, and Italian restaurants usually offer more choice for her and me. Starter was OK, both had potato wedges [a bit greasy and watery sauce]. My wife had some pasta which she said was reasonable. I ordered a Calzone Pizza. The pizza pastry was hard while I really was not sure what was served to me inside for ham. It had a very different texture to any ham I have ever had before, not nice at all. I only ate a mouthful. I was only charged for my starter - fair enough, but then they tried to charge for wine costing £10 + when we had asked for a half litre of house wine, which was priced on their menu at £5.??. They did amend the bill for this when it was pointed out. The atmosphere was not pleasant, obviously problems in the kitchen and a number of dishes coming out wrong etc. [I was facing the kitchen window and could see the staff]. The waiter was pleasant enough but we would never go again.
395 Pizzeria – Newcastle City CentreMamma Mia Pizzeria is warm friendly restaurant with friendly staff. once you've been you won't want to go to any where else for an Italian
Mamma Mia – Newcastle City CentreLuigi's is a haven in the heart of Newcastle. Its delightful array of simplistic pizzas and pasta, along with its affordable prices make sure you don't miss Luigi's! Dan and Kathleen Married for 25years
395 Pizzeria – Newcastle City CentreGood food! excellent atmosphere, always made to feel welcome - highly recommended!
Vincenzos – Newcastle City CentreHave been going to Komal for several years. Food is always very good. Used to be a cheap and cheerful balti house with prices to match but recently the prices have crept up to equal those of other restaurants. However whereas other restaurants have immaculately laid out tables, Komal is still bare tables and cutlery wrapped in a napkin. It can be noisy too, so if you want to eat in a place that's buzzing head for Komal, if you want a quiet meal look elsewhere.
Komal Balti House – Newcastle City CentreNot being from Newcastle i found the silk rooms set in a really nice part of town (Quayside behind the law courts). The setting is ideal for couples or a small party. I was able to look at the menu in advanced via the internet, as I am normally a really fussy eater but the selection here was excellent something for everyone’s taste. I went for their famous Wagyu beef burger which is expensive but definitely worth it. The term Wagyu refers to a type of cattle in Japan which is massaged daily and fed on beer (the helpful staff told me about it)?!?! The meat itself is very succulent and extremely tasty. No qualms at all with this place, would definitely recommend!!! A1
Silk Room Restaurant and Champagne Bar – Newcastle City CentreMy wife and I went for our wedding anniversary. Had a great night, food and staff were first class, only downside was the wait. We had booked for 9pm and did not get seated till 9.30pm. The atmosphere at the table was excellent everybody including the chef had a night to remember. Thoroughly recommended.
Hanahana – Newcastle City CentreI agree with the sentiment about this place being inexplicably quiet. The food is good, the service and atmosphere are excellent and it is very reasonably priced. A good bet if you want a quieter meal in Stowel Street.
Thai Siam – Newcastle City CentreEl Torero is absolutely fantastic! The food is always amazing, and the service is excellent. We always have three dishes each plus bread to share and drinks and our bill is never more than about thirty pounds. Not bad for a lovely meal in a brilliant atmosphere. Highly recommend going if you haven't been yet!!
