Been here many times when visiting Newcastle.. the best Italian around .. Lovely food Friendly, attentive staff

This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Newcastle. The menu is so different to the other places and has so much choice. The food is absolutely amazing and always so tasty and fresh. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. I can’t recommend trap house enough!

The food is excellent and the restaurant has a nice vibe with music and decoration. It is a shame the service is lacking as this left us with a negative feeling. We were clearly treated differently to the other customers there, which was strange as the restaurant wasn't busy.

We had a great evening at Red Mezze in spite of the restrictions - they found a way to keep us warm and happy whilst serving really good food. We sat outside and they brought us a heater which was very effective. We had some dietary requirements in the group (gluten free and vegan), and they were great at both accommodating that with minimum fuss and also with pointing out which meals might look gluten free but have hidden gluten within. Their menus aren't coded quite correctly, which they know, but we just asked and they were more than helpful. It was so nice to be out as a group again after such a long time and the night out felt as normal as it possibly could.

We had a lovely time here, great food, great atmosphere, lovely servers!! Would definitely recommend, can’t wait to come back! :))

Will be going back. Food was amazing and so were the cocktails. Only thing was the cocktails were a bit pricey at £10 each .

So pleased this restaurant has re-opened after this last year. we have really missed the great food, great service and everything about this hidden gem. can't wait to book up and revisit.

Sorry to disappoint but having been here a few times before “lockdown” I booked a table for my Wife’s birthday, started off well nice starter and drinks etc., then from there it went downhill having waited 20-25 minutes the waitress came to inform us due to a mixup our main courses had been missed but that we should have them shortly, we ordered drinks and waited about 5-10 minutes the meals arrived, my wife cut into her lasagne it was hot on the outside and cold underneath. It was decided then we would pay for what we had eaten and drunk and asked for the bill, which when received was incorrect , so after another dispute the correct bill was given. Could I say a sincere apology would have been appreciated. On a positive note the waitress was very pleasant and professional in her manner. The 3 for food is the food we had which was enjoyable but could not go higher due to the main course. The 5 for service reflects the professional of the waitresses.

We had takeout for valentine’s day and we were really excited to try food from here. The steak was a real let down, 50% of my partners steak was fat/gristle and ended up being left. The seafood was lovely especially the crab, but again it felt like very little lobster in comparison to the past when we have ordered a half. We were left a little underwhelmed.
