Table of 9 and everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and special requests were accommodated. The staff were great and service was quick and friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Great food and atmosphere let down by uninterested staff. Table for two at just after 7 on a really quiet night in Newcastle you'd think our custom would have been extremely welcome. The chap that showed us to our table was lovely and friendly as always but the female staff last night really let the restaurant down. The girl who'd been asked to deliver our waters practically threw them down then stormed off without saying a thing as if they were empties being put on the bar. When we left, the three female members of staff barely even acknowledged our existence as we thanked them all for having us, one said thanks (angsty water deliverer) and the other two were more interested in chatting on and barely grunted at us as we left. Possibly a one off occasion as the staff are normally very attentive and friendly. Hope to visit again but really hoping the service improves.

Been kafeneon last year whilst on holiday and returned this year with friends. Great atmosphere and good food. Quick service and great staff. Almost feel u r in Greece with decor and music

A gem of a restaurant. We’ve been a few times now. The food is amazing, staff are friendly. Always a great meal, never disappointed.

Our first time to Kafeneon as we were visiting Newcastle and found this place looking at google reviews. The food was great and the staff were excellent. The only thing that let it down was the loud group on a large table next to us in a small room which meant it was incredibly difficult to have a conversation with each other. We will however be back :)

Second time at Kafeneon and what a cracking restaurant it is. As a vegan eater I found the menu had plenty of choice and both me and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great surroundings and really lovely staff. Will be back.

Food is always lovely here and staff always friendly. Have ate here quite a few times now and love it but only thing I would say is since the new rooms were opened we never get chance to sit up there. They always try to seat us on the entrance floor which is far too bright and busy feeling. We had booked online and had requested upper floors but were told we couldn’t. They did sit us on the bottom floor which used to have lovely lighting but this is also now very bright. It does not have the same feel if your a couple out for a romantic meal. I wish the lighting could be toned down. Will still come again but would love to try the upstairs seating areas. I remember it was lovely up there but have sadly only had chance to sit up there once. Would recommend for the food being great though and friendliness.

We visited this restaurant for the first time in early August . I’d heard great things about it . There were 4 of us and we ordered quite a selection of tapas - possibly too much but we almost finished it . The food was really lovely and good value . The service was great and we had such a good time , we’ll definitely be back !

Came with a friend who had never been before on Saturday night. Had the mezzo platter to share. Was amazing, so delicious and lovely to have a choice of everything. The beef stifado was beautiful - the only feedback I would say is need to have more olives but other than that would highly recommend. Waitresses asked several times if everything was ok and very attentive all night. Very impressed, will be back again soon!

Food always great but please at least warn us if you're going to stuff us in the corner of a tiny room with a stag do of 11 blokes, ruined the whole experience, just wanted to eat and get out of there as quickly as possible.
