Fabulous meal here , food portions were generous and two course set menu was extremely good value . Greek wine was lovely and we had a generous discount off the price of two bottles when the bill came . Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating . One of our party was dairy intolerant and the staff made sure the substitutions were explained . All in all delicious . Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

My friends and I had a lovely meal at Simply Greek, pre theatre. The food was delicious, the staff attentive and the service excellent. We got the fixed price menu and were more than happy with the choice of dishes and the price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will cetainly go again

Not having lived in the area long this was already our second visit to Kafeneon. We shared the meze which had a selection of several dishes plus dips, pitta bread etc and every b it of it was excellent. We will definitely be returning

Visited on Sunday 9 June for a birthday celebration lunch and we were greeted very warmly by all staff. Our table was ready for us and we all sat down. Given two choices of menu - set lunch or the normal menu. Our party opted for both menus and drinks and food orders were taken. Our food was brought to us and was as it always is presented lovely, extremely fresh and hot and it made your taste buds ping. We love KafeNeon and would highly recommend it for any occasion. We think it is one of the best places to eat in Town. 10/10

Visited on Saturday evening and I have to say the food was so good. I had been really looking forward to visiting after hearing such good things. Unfortunately, we were disappointed as we felt very rushed. We booked for 8 and our table wasn’t quite ready so by the time we ordered and the food came (very quickly) it was getting on to 8.45 when we were half way through our meal. We were asked at that point if we wanted any coffees we had to have them then as the kitchen was closing. We certainly weren’t ready for coffee at that point. The same with some of the desserts which weren’t available because the kitchen was closed. Definitely not the slowly slowly Greek way we would come to expect in fact the exact opposite. The cafe was being closed up around us and most of the staff disappeared to being in the tables from outside The whole thing spoiled the experience for us a little. We would definitely go back as the food is so good but I would recommend anyone going to book a much earlier table. I don’t understand why tables are offfered at 8 if you aren’t given time to enjoy the food.

We ate as a group of four on a Saturday night. The food was excellent and great value for money. The service was friendly and welcoming and service was quick given how busy the place was. Would definitely eat there again.

Had the opportunity to visit yesterday and it did not disappoint , food was tremendous , great flavours , variety and piping hot . Service was great and would definitely visit again if we are in Newcastle, thanks .

Kafeneon is my absolute favourite restaurant and they never fail to deliver. Always excellent friendly service from the team and tasty fresh food. On my last visit I introduced my 9 year old granddaughter to Kafeneon and she loved it, especially her vanilla milkshake! On this occasion I just wanted a quick lunch and the tomato and feta soup was perfect. Looking forward to my next visit

Honestly, first class! Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Great menu & drinks menu! Can’t wait to come back- would highly recommend. Loved the basement setting, nice atmosphere.
