Excellent visit as always. Fourth visit. Food is lovely and good value as we had the lunch special. Service good. Atmosphere very pleasant.

Been to kafeneon loads of times and can't fault the food, atmosphere and friendly staff. However booked for 6 people to celebrate a birthday in our party. I ordered the chicken souvlaki, which I have had on numerous occasions, but was convinced it was pork as was stringy and not up to usual standard. The waitress said they were using chicken thighs and wanted feedback which is definitely a no from me. Please stick to chicken breast as it would be something I wouldn't order again, I appreciate it is more expensive but I would rather have smaller portions to compensate

Great food as always with lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about going.

Visited Kafeneon recently during a long weekend to Newcastle. I lived in Greece for many years and managed a Taverna for some time so am always excited to eat Greek food in the UK. The menu was varied & well priced, and the service was without fault. My two sons ordered the chicken souvlaki which was nicely presented with pitta, tzatziki & salad. Both boys really enjoyed their meals. I opted for beef stifado which was very tasty, and was served with pitta, rice & salad - the latter of which I could probably have done without. We also had a side of dips (hummus & tzatziki) with pitta, and a portion of feta saganaki, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed. We didn't go for dessert (although I was tempted to try their cake), but did opt for an Ouzo and a Metaxa - oh how I have missed that Brandy! Authentic tasting Greek food in a lovely setting with good service and proper, recognisable Greek music in the background - one of my sons is going to be spending some time in the City so I'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed everything we had and reasonably priced. Willl definitely return!

Another amazing meal at Red Mezze ! Six of us all had different starters and main courses and we were all really impressed with our choices. Fabulous place to eat and incredible food. Have already booked our next meal !

Beautiful meal. We got the meze platter for 3 and honestly couldn’t fault any of it. We ended up taking home food as we just couldn’t manage it all. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend

Having lived in Greek Cypriot communities I am well experienced with Greek food. This was a great example of that. Delicious, flavourful and great value.

Visited on a trip to Newcastle. Great range of authentic food and beers with a friendly & efficient service. This combined with reasonable prices makes it a place we will visit again.
