Having recently moved to the area this was our first visit here so we had the meze in order to try different dishes. I must say we enjoyed all of them and there was plenty of it too. Will definitely visit again.

My “go to” restaurant for consistently delicious food. The staff have to be mentioned because several times I haven’t booked a table and they always find you one, they are polite and friendly and service is good. Thank you for another scrumptious meal in a lovely atmosphere.

This is a brilliant restaurant! We visited on Saturday night and the place was absolutely buzzing. The food was of superb quality, plentiful and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, quick and efficient. I cannot fault Kafeneon and thank you so much for a brilliant experience!

I came across kafeneon when looking for places to eat when myself and my family were coming to Newcastle for a break away, my mother in law who has holidayed in Greece for over 20 years loves Greek food and we do try to book places when we come across them, so when this place popped up and had some great reviews I booked for 4 of us including my 9 year old son. From the moment we arrived through the front door the staff were so lovely and welcoming and this continued all throughout our time there. The place was busy and had a great atmosphere to it. We ordered drinks whilst we decided on food (all which sounded amazing), we opted for the Meze sharing platter and naxo and dip for starters for the table for us all and then our mains, we ordered the chicken souvlaki, big fat Greek gyros, chicken gyros and pork gyros. My son wanted to add he had the vanilla milkshake which he said was amazing! All I can say is the food was outstanding, you do not go home hungry, we will most definitely be visiting again on our next trip and would highly recommend this to anyone to come and visit.

1st time visit early Saturday evening, great food, busy, friendly atmosphere. Extremely popular with a constant stream of people looking for a table! say no more. We'll definitely be back!

KafeNeon has been my favourite Greek restaurant in Newcastle since 1999. Food is always delicious. Staff make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend this place.

Go here every four or five weeks with a group of friends. Never let down. Great food at great prices and lovely friendly staff.

Ive been here a few times for different reasons, this time was with work colleagues on a Thursday evening, table booked on line. To my surprise wasn't that busy, lovely relaxing atmosphere, good table position down the stairs. Drinks ordered and arrived no problem, 6 meals of 2 courses ordered and served by polite professional staff. The food was as good as ever, fresh, tasty and plentiful. Still the same great quality and value for money. Great place for both couples and groups or even if your away for work. Will I go back? You bet.

3 of us went to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. We decided in a bottle of prosecco and the original mezze. Wow! The food was absolutely outstanding and plentiful! My personal favourites were the pork from the gyros and the Moussaka, closely followed by the Souvlaki, but couldn't fault any of it! The staff are always really friendly whilst maintaining professional standards. We have already said we need to go back!! Thanks for great food as always x

Excellent food , large portions, friendly staff and decent prices. What's not to love??

I went with a friend yesterday for lunch . It was our first visit and a recommendation from another friend. We had a delightful meal and time there. Tables are well spaced out so you can chat freely and not be bothered by other diners even with a large group there at the same time. We both had the set lunch menu which had plenty of choices and I noted plenty of interesting choices for vegetarians too . Value for money was excellent. Food was excellent and so plentiful we both couldn’t eat it all . Delicious . We were both very happy with our choices. The staff were very helpful and charming making it an enjoyable lunchtime for us both. Thank you to front and kitchen staff . It was my first day out having been ill and I was glad to have chosen Red Meze . I unconditionally recommend this restaurant.

Never been disappointed At Kafeneon. The food is always excellent, authentic Greek food, the portions are very generous and the staff are pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
