The Waterfront Fish Restaurant – North ShieldsHad lunch with friends from school, hadn't seen each other for years a lovely afternoon meal (dont eat for a couple of days before you go) and very attentive waitress. Will be back
Dolphin The – North ShieldsAlways fresh and pleasant staff. Do deliveries as well so, handy in the winter months.
Erics Chippy – North ShieldsAbsolutely beautiful food. If me and my partner are ever stuck on where to eat it will always be the dolphin. Freshly cooked food, well worth the money although it ain't expensive. Home made dumplings are to die for! Great choice friendly staff. Definitely recommended place to go for everyone.
Dolphin The – North ShieldsJust had an amazing meal here. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, the food is really superb with unexpected treats. Its the best restaurant in the North East (we've tried all of Stowell Street!). They don't use MSG and everything is freshly cooked. It has nice surroundings and a friendly atmosphere with very reasonable prices. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and we'll definitely go back.
Golden Swallow – North ShieldsNorth Shields takeaway broke food hygiene law Aug 17 2009 by Sonia Sharma, Evening Chronicle DIRTY worktops, greasy equipment and ceilings caked with grime. These were just some of the hygiene breaches found at Momin’s Tandoori takeaway, in Coast Road, North Shields. Dozens of food safety breaches were found in two separate visits by inspectors. And one unsuspecting customer was horrified to find a ring in an onion bhaji months after the restaurant had been ordered to clean up its act. Food safety officers from North Tyneside Council first inspected the premises in March last year and found 34 breaches of hygiene regulations. Cleanliness was poor in the kitchen and food storage areas, there was insufficient disinfection of equipment and poor refrigeration. Food debris and grease had accumulated behind appliances, work surfaces were filthy, light switches were covered in dirt and staff were wearing unwashed aprons. The owner, Abdur Razaq, was told to improve standards. But in October, the council received a complaint from a customer who found a man’s ring inside his onion bhaji. It belonged to a staff member who had been preparing the dish. Another inspection was carried out and a further 28 breaches of hygiene standards were found. Many of the previous problems had not been acted upon. Now the company and Mr Razaq, 41, of Caynham Close, North Shields, have been fined after pleading guilty to 23 offences at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Momins Tandoori – North ShieldsI travel all over in my job, this is the only Indian I've visited in North Shields but for the food it compared very favourably with with a lot of others around the country. Service was good with friendly staff, I did think it was a bit more pricey than I would have expected.
Aramee – North ShieldsI was at Aramee last night with 3 friends. We'd visited their sister restaurant in Newcastle before it closed and that was fantastic so we were really looking forward to a good meal. The food was not as good as we'd hoped and service was really poor - they brought the wrong dish and then 5 mins later came and told us they had made a mistake and the correct dish would be another 10 mins. By this time the others had finished and rice was cold. By way of compensation they brought us a large cobra - no one was drinking by then so it was wasted - and gave us the dish free but it did nothing for our confidence in the restaurant. They were quite happy to bring us drinks we were paying for but we had to ask a number of times for a glass of tap water for one of our party. They really let themselves down in my opinion and the waiters even seemed really despondent. Too many customers, problems with the chef, new staff - who knows but not great, especially with a new competitor opening up over the road and so many curry houses in Whitley Bay
Aramee – North ShieldsA couple of weeks ago a group of us dined at Aramee. The food at Aramee is good. It was rather busy during our visit, but the service at Aramee was rather hectic and disorganised which I feel needs to improve. A few of the waiters seemed very confused which is why the service also appeared chaotic at the table as we were given the wrong drinks. The food is good at this restaurant but the service needs improvement. However I would still give the business another try.
Aramee – North ShieldsThis is without doubt a hidden gem of a restaurant. The quality of the food is a lot higher than anything on Stowell Street and at a half the price! The Tempura Prawns and Dumplings are a great starter. I've never tasted or had the unique Malayan Lamb anywhere else and it is to die for. A Family run restaurant with a hardcore of regulars who love great food at a great price. Once I tried the Golden Swallow, I can't go back to Stowell Street. My favourite Chinese restaurant EVER!!! Service not the fastest, but well worth the wait!
Golden Swallow – North Shieldsyou wait a while for your food but the wait is worth the while really nice scran, i would recommend to anyone
Golden Swallow – North ShieldsGREAT FOOD! best in shields.
Momins Tandoori – North ShieldsMomins is one of the most established Indian takeaway in North Shields, the staff have a great friendly and enthusiastic attitude towards service, and the food is absolutely divine, i have been a customer of Momins since it first opened in 2000, since then it has become my local kitchen !!! would recommend it to any Indian taste buds!!!
Momins Tandoori – North ShieldsThis gem of a restaurant is tucked away on a top floor of an old building in the centre of North Shields. We were warmly greeted at the door and a table was prepared for us (they prefer to be warned of your arrival so they can be ready). A very good choice of menu. The first time we visited we ordered the set menu and although the starters were fantastic we would not have selected the main courses. So the next time we ordered separately. Ordering 4 starters (there was 4 of us) we were served with enough to share each one - the Vietnamese spring rolls were to die for. We ordered king prawn, beef, chicken and pork dishes, all tender and delicious. The service is attentive but not overpowering and they spend time with you explaining each dish - we were made to feel very special. For days afterwards I could have sat down to the same meal, very memorable and enjoyable. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
Golden Swallow – North Shieldsit is pure mint how get ya self down there like
Oriental Kitchen – North ShieldsWe use the Aramee fairly regularly for a takeaway meal and have yet to be disappointed. The food is always delicious, and plentiful! Too many other Indian restaurants serve food swimming in oil or rely on chillies to give a kick - here the food is tasty!
Aramee – North ShieldsMy wife and I (along with whoever else we recommend this place to) always thoroughly enjoy eating here. It is the best 'Indian' restaurant in the area that I know of and I know most of them! The food is clean and of sufficient quantity so you are not stuffed afterwards but have just enough (quite a skill that). It is always excellently presented and cooked and is not expensive. If you want great quality food, good ambience, friendly staff, Kingfisher lager on draught then this is the place to come to. Might be wise to book though, even early/mid-week.
Aramee – North ShieldsWithout doubt one of the best Indian restaurants at the moment. I?e been a few times now and the food is fantastic. One of the few Indian meals that is not laden with fat and doesn? make you feel stuffed! Get along to this place!
