Delicious food and friendly service, as always - we always enjoy an evening at The Last!
The Last Inn – NewportWe regularly go for Sunday dinner at the last inn and we can’t fault it. The food is lovely, staff are friendly and it’s reasonably priced.
The Last Inn – NewportDined in the restaurant with my partner and two friends on Saturday 8 June for lunch. Absolutely amazing service and food. Prices very reasonable Have booked again for my anniversary iba July. Thiroughly recommend a visit
The Last Inn – NewportStarters very average, not sure I would recommend to friends
The Last Inn – NewportDisappointing. Waited around 1.5hrs for food even though the rest of the pub was quiet, just a couple of tables. We had to ask when we could expect the food. Menu had just changed and for a vegetarian was limited, meat eaters in the group weren’t impressed with the menu either as a distinct lack of vegetables with the meals. Some side choices were also incorrect when they arrived. The serving staff were friendly. We didn’t have desserts or coffee due to the time it took to get main meals. Doubtful we will return.
The Last Inn – NewportWhen we arrived, we were seen to a table in a fair amount of time. Next to us, on the other side of the wall, there was a large party going on. We could not talk to each other without shouting, as that table was really loud. It took over 20 minutes to take our orders (it was only my partner and I), 45 minutes for our starters to reach our table and 45 minutes for our mains to reach our table. My partners starter was cold, whereas mine was fairly warm. Afterwards, we waited 45 minutes for our mains to reach our table, only for me to have a side of halloumi sticks with chilli sauce (when I asked for just fried halloumi) and my steak to be blue when I asked of it to be rare and my partner to have normal fries when he had asked for kamikaze fries. At this point, we were ready to leave. It seems as though everyone gave attention to the party rather than their small customers, whose opinion also matters. We did not have dessert, which was disappointing, but waiting a very long time for that to arrive didn’t sound too great. Disappointed to say the least.
The Last Inn – NewportFantastic food , this is the first meal we’ve had out in a long time that we felt was totally worth the money. The young lady working was very attentive and friendly and good at her job . We enjoyed our time very much at the last inn and will definitely be back soon.

The Last Inn – NewportGood
The Last Inn – NewportFood was wonderful, although very long wait for it to arrive. Place was empty and so expected exceptional service but it wasn’t. Main meal arrived and it was the wrong food, took a while to take dessert order and then that also arrived with the incorrect side order. Disappointing as the chefs clearly prepare food to a high standard.
The Last Inn – NewportWe have been a few times as we are local and we decided to take family for a meal, unfortunately we were very disappointed as the burgers were very dry as if they had been sat there for ages and warmed up. The sharing nachos also appeared to be sat there for ages. For the price of each meal you would expect a lot more and better quality! It was also very quite for a Friday night, maybe it has to do with the quality!
The Last Inn – NewportThe food at the Last Inn is consistently good and portions are fairly generous. Ate here on a Wednesday evening and really enjoyed the veggie burger. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent.
The Last Inn – NewportAs a local I have frequented this pub a number of times under various management. Generally the food and service has been good. However on Mother’s Day this year, it was a different story! We were served chips that looked like came from the local supermarket frozen and oven cooked, and their signature burger well I rarely complain about food but this time was inedible, the patties were were like rubber and cooked on a griddle that had not been cleaned so left the burger tasting and smelling burnt. The attitude of the shift manager was awful and after I told him to go see for himself instead of owning the mistake he brushed us off and flippantly just said it’s taken off the bill. Whilst I would like to say I would be back and out this down and one off busy day poor service and tired chef I do t think we will! Really sad, could do better!!
The Last Inn – NewportIt was a lovely meal, with quick service and tasty food. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant was a lovely temperature. The chocolate brownie pudding was beyond amazing, definitely recommend!
The Last Inn – NewportCame for a pre-Mothers Day treat and really enjoyed the meal. Nice, uncomplicated pub food for a very reasonable price.
The Last Inn – NewportThe food was lovely and service was good but did feel dark and dull where we were sat.
The Last Inn – NewportWe came for Sunday lunch yesterday (18.4.24). Originally a table of 8 then we were joined by another 2 people who were accommodated no problem. The food was amazing, which is why we’d invited our friends to join us as we’d been as a family a few weeks ago & had the best Sunday lunch we’ve had out anywhere ever before. The beef just melts in your mouth. However the service was absolutely appalling. It took 1hr & 40 minutes before our food came to the table. In all we were sat at our table for 2hrs 30 mins for just one course. It simply wasn’t good enough. Tables who had come in after us were served & in some instances even finished before us & had left! I appreciate one of those was a table who had pre-ordered but the others were not. We were going to stay for dessert but we didn’t want to waste anymore time sat there. It was a real shame because as I’ve stated above the food was amazing but the service was absolutely awful. When we did ask for the bill we were told that someone had already been to the bar & paid for our food . . . interesting as no one had left the table! We obviously queried it & indeed went to the bar to settle our bill. Is the secret to better service to pre-order?! This was never made clear to me at the time of booking. Unfortunately our guests are adamant they won’t be returning. We probably will but we won’t be just booking & ordering at the table. We will have to pre-book which is a shame as sometimes you change your mind.
The Last Inn – NewportAbsolutely awful experience- really disappointing. Terrible service, insane wait for food with no drinks offered either after the first round, inaccurate allergy advice and really poor food when it finally arrived.
The Last Inn – NewportSunday roasts from £14.
