Excellent food. Great service. Can't understand why there was nobody there. Atmosphere was a bit flat.

The Last Inn – NewportGreat Sunday roast. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
The Last Inn – NewportWhen we arrived there wasn't any sraff to be seen for some time before we were attended to.we ordered the large Sunday roast. We found the beef under cooked and very tough and difficult to chew. Practically unbeatable. Didn't enjoy it at all. We paid and then realised when we got to the car we had been over charged as well. Will not be going back again.
The Last Inn – NewportMet by the barman who was friendly and showed us to our table. Initially, pub was very quiet. Food ordered, and not much wait before it arrived. Excellent quality and decent quantity. Could have done with the plates themselves being warmer, but a small gripe, given that the food was very good. Wine (Merlot) also very nice - shame I was driving. I didn't have dessert, but my partner and my mother did and both enjoyed (apple crumble). All served by an attentive, pleasant young lady. Pub did fill up a bit, but not busy - to be expected I think given it was mid January. Bill arrived, and for 3 people I thought very good value for money . I will visit again.
The Last Inn – NewportOrdered 2 meals, one meal was fine but the 2nd meal was accompanied with cold vegetables which we sent back. After the first meal was consumed, the 2nd meal complete with hot vegetables arrived, so both ate alone. You would have thought that as the place was virtually empty they could at least provide 2 hot meals. Given 10% discount on the price of the cold meal only. Very disappointing, what a shame as it has been a while since we visited and expected it to be nice.
The Last Inn – NewportNew-years eve , food as always "excellent " Only down side booked table over phone to request specific area to sit , booked but when double checked 3 weeks later no booking found , new booking via on line with same request this time confirmed by text . Made a visit two days before booking whilst have food and drink ,booking was confirmed yet again ,day of booking totally different table right at the back of the restaurant, no attempt was made by manager even thro what I booked was confirmed via text and in person Spoilt part of the evening .
The Last Inn – NewportWelcomed by bar staff and shown to a table. Nice choice on lunch and main menus, both of which offering great value. Food was fresh, hot, tasty and decent portions. Decor and atmosphere could benefit from a little attention, but overall very satisfied with the experience.
The Last Inn – NewportAmazing food and excellent service. Need a new Christmas tree in restaurant. It looks very sad
The Last Inn – NewportMet with friends teatime Monday 18th December. Lovely warm welcome upon arrival. All menu options were available and the food was very good. Service was superb throughout the evening and prices reasonable. Definitely recommend.
The Last Inn – NewportWent Sunday evening. Disappointed that there was only the Sunday Lunch menu available. Wouldn’t have booked if we had known that. Considering they were only serving roasts, it took a long time for the food to arrive. However, once they did arrive, the roast dinners were very nice and generous portions. Couldn’t fault the food. Desserts were also good. The dessert sharing board is a very good idea. Again, the desserts did take a long time to arrive though.
The Last Inn – NewportExcellent, food really great. Ryan our server was so nice
The Last Inn – NewportThe empty dining room should have been a warning. I ordered the kebab and my partner the pie. Two pieces of pork, burnt chorizo and a rock hard flat bread. The amount I left should have raised the question was everything ok with your meal. My partners meal wasn’t much better with a hard crust on the pie. Staff were friendly but seemed inexperienced. We ordered a dessert of Eton mess, this can only be described as yoghurt in a wine glass, not a berry in sight. This will be my first and last time in the Last Inn.
The Last Inn – NewportBeen here several times, great place, warm welcome, super service, food is fabulous. Will definitely keep returning.
The Last Inn – NewportGood was good. Service slow and heating not working so freezing cold while trying to enjoy a meal…..not great
The Last Inn – NewportMixed review. Booked for Sunday evening but unaware only Sunday lunch (roasts) available. Very cold, I sat with my coat on throughout the visit. Nearly fell off my chair seeing them charge £2.50 for a Yorkshire pudding if chosing the pork or large roast (beef and pork). And portion of cauliflower cheese for three was only sufficiently sized for 2 and contained one stalk as well as three florets. But on a more positive note the roasts were delicious, very tender pork and medium rare beef, well cooked green veg and carrots, nice roasties and delicious stuffing. Very reasonably priced. But unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives so we won't be back on a Sunday evening for now.
The Last Inn – NewportWe have visited the Last a lot over the past few years but were left disappointed when we went recently. There was a lack of atmosphere and we felt as though we were being forced out after our main course despite wanting a dessert, the food was very mediocre considering the price and overall it has left us not wanting to return anytime soon.
The Last Inn – NewportVery disappointed with our Sunday roasts on 19th November. Food took around 45 minutes to be served and when it finally came out it was barely warm. The beef was almost inedible as was that well cooked and there were hardly any veggies, we also did not receive a serving of cauliflower cheese but this was taken into account on the bill. It's a shame as it's a lovely place and we have had many nice meals at the Last Inn but this has put us off coming back any time soon. On a positive note the waiting staff were very polite and apologetic and I heard them getting brunt of many other complaints.
The Last Inn – NewportVisited on 19/11. The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. Two of us had the sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly and one of us had the steak and ale pie which they said was beautiful. One of my favourite places to come for food in Newport.
The Last Inn – NewportSunday roasts from £14.
