I was there today for late breakfast the food was brilliant bit on the expensive side but if you want quality it’s worth it.
Walkers Restaurants – NewquayFood was poor. Pizza was tiny for £12 and tasted like something I could’ve got from the freezer in Tesco. The loaded fries were barely loaded, nor were they fries. The service was none existent. It felt like the music was being chosen to deliberately wind you up or get you to leave. I would seriously never ever consider dining here again. For the price I expected way more. I’d have expected more for half the price, frankly. Never again.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayWe had originally planned to eat here during our stay but eventually decided to opt for a takeaway in the lodge instead. We met some friends for a drink during the day (which was extremely expensive) and told the waitress that we would like to cancel. The waitress began laughing and smiling, at that point I asked her if everything was ok? She replied saying how glad she was that we cancelled because the previous night was a nightmare. I totally appreciate how hard staff work and how understaffed everywhere is at the moment but being slightly more indirect would've been better and not made our presence at the resort feel unwelcome.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayA nice environment and friendly service. A little costly for a family - and setting.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayBooked a table but it wasn’t ready as the people before were still sat at the table to which we were told we would have to wait a bit but then eventually they made us a table up by pushing a couple of table together. The service was awful waiting a long time to get served and then they had ran out of garlic bread and when our meals eventually arrived they were like warm. I wouldn’t ever dine here again.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayTerrible food, equally terrible service. Ordered two Caesar salads, one vegetarian, one chicken (chicken served raw). Vegetarian was £1 less admittedly, but £12 is still extortionate for a handful of leaves, some dressing and a few tomatoes. No Parmesan either seeing as it’s not vegetarian but nothing offered as a substitute. The worst part, however, was the fact that the chargrilled chicken in the normal Caesar was served raw and I had to walk it back to the inside bar myself seeing as the outside bar wasn’t being monitored. No apology, no ‘let me get this sorted’ just ‘ermm, I’ll check with the chef’. In the end, the manager (we assumed, didn’t identify herself) apologised and told us the meal was being remade, 15 minutes after it was returned. We decided to cancel seeing as my partner had already finished her meal. In the end an apology and some recognition would have solved the issue, seeing as they weren’t busy, but we weren’t afforded either.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayThis place is definitely on the up. Visited this restaurant 1 year ago and the improvement since then is huge! I have a feeling it’s going to continue on its upward journey. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The food has also improved. It’s the sort of menu you would expect from a family restaurant on a holiday resort, but it’s cooked well and price and portion sizes are spot on. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. A great place for family holiday dining.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayGreat service with polite and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the food
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayFood was great. There were good options for children too. Music and décor really lovely. Also a great little place for drinks only.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayNice meal / young man that served us was very attentive Service was good considering they had 2 parties in Food and drink overpriced but then you are on a resort so I suppose that’s to be expected Would I recommend it - yes
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayThe food and service were really good when we visited. The staff were all friendly, polite and attentive.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayMeal very nice, however service could have been a tad better at the beginning, however I sense the young girls were learning. Others is nice surroundings, music a little loud. Overall impression very good. Food extremely overpriced, but very tasty. Portions very small too and a very limited menu!!
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayLovely restaurant and bar. Food totally overpriced. £12:95 for a flatbread! Tasted nice but portion size was very disappointing. Didn’t eat there again.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayStaff were friendly and attentive. Our meal was disappointing. Three of our party ordered the Moules and the majority of one of the servings were inedible as were all closed she’ll. The other two portions also had significant servings that were inedible. Considering the portions were also very small for a main meal, this was very poor. The chef should have not sent this out! I complained to the waitress who was very accommodating and brought an extra portion and a complimentary change of meal for one of us. Overall, meals were overpriced and not great quality. Portions small. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayOverpriced, small portions and very limited menu.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayOverall a disappointing evening at the Lookout. Excellent service but food not short of horrific. Food sent back on 2 occasions for being cold. Staff very attentive with making sure we were happy & refunded the cold meals & offered desserts. Not good value for money & wouldn’t return to eat.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayOverpriced, limited food choices. The food wasn’t actually very tasty. Service was fine but there wasn’t any other customers in the premises- maybe the price and lack of food had something to do this. We will visit the resort again but not the restaurant
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayWe have just returned from a stay at the resort and used the restaurant on our last night. The restaurant upon entering is modernly decorated and plenty of seating available. Food was to a reasonable standard, limited choice on the menu and not value for money. The drinks are not good value either. Nearly £6 for a pint and £15 for just a burger and some chips
