The Fox Inn – PenrithWe were a party of eight and all choose widely from the menu. Our total bill came to £156 including drinks. The staff were absolutely marvelous and we had a super time - nothing was too much trouble.
Troutbeck Inn – PenrithOur food at the black swan was exceptional, the staff were very attentive and we were impressed with the selection of real ales on offer. Our accomodation was also to a very high standard, we would recommend anyone to go!

Cross Keys Inn – PenrithWe had a wonderful couple of hours in The Sun's lovely beer garden on a gorgeous sunny evening, the food was good and very well priced and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Definitely a must if you're in the area on a summers evening.
The Sun Inn – PenrithVery good food at reasonable prices, offering bar meals, hot and cold sandwiches, salads etc. Quick and friendly service. Will definitely be visiting again.
The Squirrel Inn – PenrithGood pub grub, burger and chips etc, very tasty food at a great price, nice for a spot of lunch and a pint.
General Wolf Inn – PenrithI found the food to be extremely well cooked and presented. Getting a proper blue steak is a test of a real chef and my fillet was perfect The decor was contradesque with a very friendly ambience and service. The views from the picture windows of the ancient church and distant fells was priceless.
Crown and Mitre Hotel – PenrithOverlooking lake Ullswater the view is beautiful. Unfortunately we ended up eating a main course with no vegetables not realising they should be ordered separately. Our own fault I suppose but maybe some guidance by the waiter would have been helpful here. I cant imagine many people want just the main dish on its own. Instead we were left hungry so if you eat here remember to ask for side orders too! Having said that, what we did have was very nice.
Brackenrigg Inn – PenrithEXCELLENT FOOD , SERVICE , BEER
Crown Inn The – PenrithI am a fairly regular visitor to Sharrow and I was delighted to hear that they had regained their Michelin Star again this year. The food seems to get better every time I visit, and the views, well if you have never been to Sharrow then they are difficult to put into words. Thank you Sharrow Bay for a perfect day.
Sharrow Bay – PenrithA real find. Off the beaten track but very handy for Ullswater and the A66. A clean and smoke free hotel with surprisingly good food, and backed up with great friendly service. Highly recommended.
Royal Hotel – PenrithWe stopped here a couple of years ago and was a brilliant night if you like horses and jockeys and like a good pint of local brew. The rooms were quite nice and the breakfast was really good ... I? recommend this pub.
Boot and Shoe Inn – PenrithNot to be missed, very individual and excellent service
Ice Cream Garden – PenrithVisited the herdwick one Sunday to find they did an all day carvery, four chooses of meat with loads of veg, the lady carving was very generous with the portions of meat and then you helped your self to as many veg and potatoes as you wanted great value for money. will definitely be going back.
Herdwick Inn – PenrithVery comfortable and stylish. Great ambiance and a variety of fresh, inventive food. One of my favourite places in Penrith, well worth a visit.
Cafe Fifteen – PenrithI eat here every chance I can. You can always guarantee excellent food and friendly service. The food is fresh and cooked to a very high standard.
