over priced and menu was minimal in choice in my opinion ( eg some steaks are £20 and veg and chips etc are extra on top of that) ...a real shame as has always been a favourite of mine in the past! Not anymore!

Bakehouse Restaurant – PenzanceI had a very bad experience at The Navy in Penzance. Whilst enjoying a pint with my friends, I picked up the candle, only to be told by the chef that, in a very aggressive way, that I should not touch it as it cost more that the profit he makes on a barrel of beer. He then muttered a four letter expletive under his breath. Not a nice experience - would not recommend the place.
Navy Inn – PenzanceI love the food in this pub and go back as often as I can. The menu changes regularly and is really imaginative. As a veggie, eating out can get boring but not at The Navy - everything is wonderful and often something I have not had before. The puddings are fabulous and the homemade chips are the best in Cornwall. It's a friendly, relaxed pub with great food and staff that know their stuff and care. I just wish it was in St Ives so I could go more often.
Navy Inn – PenzanceHad a fantastic evening, it was a friends birthday. The staff were really good and the food was great, we all agreed that we would go back. All the staff sung happy birthday to my friend, even the head chef sung! sparklers in the desserts as well.
Wheelhouse Restaurant and Lugger Hotel – PenzanceHave enjoyed the finest cooked Sardines ever, at The Navy. Keep going back for more. Spratts are even more enjoyable. Rob Harding.
Navy Inn – PenzanceWe eat here as often as we can, top notch for Sunday lunch and great choices during the week. The menus change frequently and I am always struggling to choose what to eat, great home made chips and the desserts are over the top delicious.
Navy Inn – PenzanceThe worst restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had. Having been a chef myself, I was appalled at the service and owner/chef of this establishment. We ordered a seafood pie and a risotto to share, both tasted ok. After a few bites of the pie, I was biting into an unchewable piece that I found was a scale. Each and every bite thereafter contained scales. I looked at the salmon and found it covered in scales. This was unacceptable. Descaling a fish is a basic culinary rule (for a dish like this), that was not followed. The worst was yet to come. I asked to speak to the manager; the chef/owner came out. I politely told him about my displeasure and asked to have the pie removed from bill (we had only had a few bites), he refused and became very angry, rude, and unprofessional. I felt like I was on an episode of "Hell's Kitchen. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant.
Navy Inn – PenzanceExcellent food, but decor not so good. Staff friendly. Eaten there many times. Good value. Go for it. Rick G
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceI have just spent 3 wonderful nights at Hotel Penzance in Penzance. Couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food in The Bay was out of this world, breakfasts to set you up for the day - all in all a very relaxing visit in lovely surroundings both in and out of the hotel. (oh and they have some great handmade cards in reception for all occasions and some lovely art hanging which is also forsale). Would definitely recommend for yourselves, your family, your friend or clients who may be down on business. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to return. Always good to pass on good recommendations. 21st February 2008
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceLast weekend my girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights, we had a most amazing time from the time we walked through the door till leaving. All staff were attentive and professional, the Restaurant team again were at the top of there game, fitting us in when obviously busy but still giving us great service. The food which as a chef is top of my priorities, was extremely well cooked and presented, the local produce list at the start is inspired and showed just how much emphasise is put on the producers. Something I also am very interested in. Easter 2008 Mitch & Paraskevi
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceFantastic - Best Tom Yum soup I've had in years! - very friendly, and reasonably priced - if you get the chance to visit - don't miss it!
Sukothai Restaurant – PenzanceI went here for a meeting after work and had a great meal. There was a very good choice of vegetarian food and I chose the butternut squash and chickpea curry. Unfortunately they did not have the squash so offered to make me a different veg curry from scratch. It was delicious and all the veg were fresh and cooked perfectly. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely go again.
Dolphin Tavern – PenzanceA notice outside this pub restaurant claims that all produce is locally sourced when possible. Seemingly it was not possible to source fresh beans, carrots or plaice in late September (2007). All were evidently from frozen.
Turks Head Inn, The – PenzanceThe staff at this restaurant saved my life. I was filming in Cornwall a couple of weeks back, and we couldn't find anywhere to eat - no one told us Cornwall shuts down around 8 o'clock. The only place in Penzance still open was the Sukothai restaurant. As we parked up, I realised I'd lost my phone - a complete nightmare on a film shoot. Luckily 3 of the staff realised what was going on, and came out with torches. They stayed with me half an hour until one of them tracked it down. Inside, the food and the service was unbeatable - the staff were really lovely, and we talked about Thailand and Cornwall, and they invited us out dancing the next week. I wish we could have taken them up on the offer, but we had to leave the next day. I will definitely be eating there next time I visit Cornwall.
Sukothai Restaurant – PenzanceFantastic, authentic thai food in excellent surroundings, 10/10
Sukothai Restaurant – PenzanceKegen Teg is a surprising find in St Just, as it is a funky little cafe with good music and a good selection of fresh juices and smoothies. It's great to find somewhere that uses good quality local food. I had the nettle and leek soup which was lovely and will go back to check out the falafel platter. They also do a selection of gourmet burgers which sound pretty good too. Highly recommended
Kegen Teg – PenzanceWe went for Sunday lunch and had the seafood stew special - it was amazing value at £9.50 and seriously good. There were razor clams, mussels, clams, tiger prawns, gurnard. The aioli was home made with saffron and garlic. Even the chips were great ! All in a relaxing atmosphere with nice service / coffee - much improved !
Beach Restaurant – PenzanceThe ambience of the place is exceptional. Whether your looking for al carte or simplefare, you'll find your thrill. Don't expect fast food, it's quality, as is the atmosphere. A very warm welcome if you stay in the surf lodge or the hotel. So great, i stayed longer than planned!!
