Navy Inn The – Plymouthhave been here a few times over the last few months and each time it has been lovely. Very pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful old pub, recommend you book. I am vegetarian, which always seems a problem, but the mushroom stroganoff was great. all in my group had super food, well presented and very good price for the quality - well worth a visit and felt like a treat
The Weary Friar Inn – PlymouthLovely breakfast- cant fault it ! Staff are very cheerful and polite.
Montys – PlymouthWe were a large group and this did not impact on the lovely dinners we had. We found the service to be excellent - not sure how they could have done better. Thoroughly recommend and surprisingly good prices.
Barbican Kitchen – PlymouthHave been calling here when it was a "Little Chef" and have continued to call every time we come down to Cornwall its a great place to stop and refuel with great food and service with a smile!!!!
Route 38 – PlymouthDisappointing end to a great evening at Theatre Royal followed by meal at Bella Italia. Food was poor. Sea bass probably cooked in microwave. Chef needs to go. Staff were pleasant but fast and keen to close. Such a shame as could be so much better!!
Bella Italia – PlymouthExcellent meal lovely restaurant airy great wait staff. nice collection of bottled beers and best meal I have had in Plymouth - ever! 4 of us and it cost £130 for all of us to have 3 courses each with wine or beer etc the smoked mackerel starter is superb we were all stuffed as generous portions I have already re-booked to go back
River Cottage – PlymouthWent for a fantastic meal last night (11.2.12). The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, first class experience and we will definitely be going again.
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthStaff really Friendly , food something to be desired had better for much less .
Frankie and Bennys – PlymouthBest casual Chinese food in Plymouth. Having ate Chinese from Sydney, Hong Kong , Vancouver , this places serves authentic and extremely delicious uncomplicated food. The service is excellent.
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthAs usual we had a wonderful lunch at Bistro One. Mr Barrett is helpful and friendly and makes excellent recommendations. No wonder they have won the title of Best Restaurant in Plymouth for 2011!! We had bangers and mash with braised cabbage for £5 and it was delicious.
Bistro One – PlymouthQuite possibly thee best place to eat Chinese Food in Plymouth (Imperial Gardens on Ebrington St comes close with their Ho-Fun Noodle menu) The boss, Johnny, is welcoming, and enjoys you having a taster from his extensive 'Head Menu' . He will suggest particular courses / menus that work really well together, Michael the chef (on the top floor) is good, really good...perfect meal every time. What is also good is the Japanese Waitress who runs the top floor...My Wife's best friend...she has an eye for picking the perfect menu from the extensive list in front of you...we've been there a few times now, it definitely won't be the last. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and want to taste some "real" Chinese food, then The Noodle Lounge is the only restaurant to visit in Plymouth.
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthSince being introduced to the Noodle Lounge we would not eat in any other Chinese Restaurant in Plymouth. The food is excellent (Jonny will recommend a selection for you which is superb or you can order from the menu) Highly recommended.
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthHow amazing and fantastically orgasmic their food was!! Highly recommended!!
Koishii Japanese Restaurant – Plymouthi love this place. i have been loads of times and will never get bored of it. i have tried loads of different items from the menu and have never been disappointed, they are all as tasty as each other. i recommend it to all my mates and they all say the same. Johnny's friendly welcome and the laid back atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit. i am off there this afternoon and cannot wait. my favourite restaurant in this area by miles...
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthI don't recommend this place at all! We stopped there on our way to Cornwall on Sunday 17th July. Had a burger which was dry and the chips were soggy and greasy. My mate had chicken fajitas which made him ill for the rest of the day with stomach cramps. Horrible greasy food and slow dreadful service. AVOID!
Route 38 – PlymouthI visited the Barbican Kitchen yesterday evening and was very impressed again. The 2 courses for £10.95 deal was brilliant, the pea and mint soup was delicious, as was the Pork. This is a stylish restaurant. The service was excellent, discreet and leisurely - We would not fault anything!
Barbican Kitchen – PlymouthIf you want bad service and an expensive meal, “Route 38” is for you. My Birthday meal fiasco took place on the 22nd of June 2011. Four of us arrived at about 8:00pm and were shown to a table. We then had our order taken in good time for both drinks and meals. The drinks arrived a few minutes later as expected. Three meals arrived 15 minutes later but mine took a further 5 minutes which was bad given that I had only ordered a burger. The meals were of fair quality but expensive for what we had. We continued eating and finished our drinks but it was not possible to get the attention of any of the staff for a refill. They were more interested in turning off the Budweiser sign, adjusting a blind and most annoyingly vacuuming around the area we were seated. After being made to feel very unwelcome we left without the sweet and coffee we were looking forward to. We had to step over the abandoned vacuum cleaner which was left in the middle of the aisle. All we needed to complete the scene was Basil Fawlty. I have lived and worked in the States and the abysmal service at Route 38 is a complete insult to American restaurants and the customers of Route 38 alike.
