The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthLove, Love, LOVE the breakfasts in here, plenty of very nicely cooked food and what an atmosphere! The music alone would keep us returning time and time again. I had the 'Americana' breakfast with two egg, bacon and sausage and two large pancakes with a little jug of maple syrup. It's just right and I didn't eat again all day!
Route 38 – PlymouthMy favourite restaurant in Plymouth. No fuss, just great Seafood and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Best chips in Plymouth too - freshly made and just as they should be! Remember to book - it's not a huge place and they get really busy.
Platters – PlymouthVery disappointed. Booked a table but sadly never got to eat there. On arrival were told table would be ready in 15 minutes, still no table available after 45 minutes. Finally gave up and was offered a meal at a nearby restaurant where the customer service was excellent.
Souk – PlymouthExcellent excellent excellent pub food, really good prices and very friendly service. The lounge has been redecorated making the area feel bright and clean.
Golden Hind The – PlymouthGot to be the best place for breakfast, coffee in Plymouth. Great for lunch too (but don't get there too late!) - beautifully prepared, unfussy food at reasonable prices. Great for vegetarians and even better if you eat fish.
Montys – PlymouthTake away was rubbish, did not match advert in magazine thought i was at wrong restaurant, had English chef cooking the dishes not very Indian at all!!!
Spice Well – Plymouthvery nice place everything is faultless. I would recommend
The Treasury Bar Restaurant – PlymouthWe spent a very enjoyable evening at Bistro One last night. Everything, from the food to the wine, was delicious, perfectly complemented each other and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous too. The waitress was very helpful and Mr Barrett, who was head chef last night, seemed happy to talk to us and kindly shared his expertise in wine. A lovely night in a relaxed atmosphere, we will definitely be back - possibly even for the wine tasting course!
Bistro One – PlymouthGreat meal. Had a fantastic meal as did my colleagues. I had the Klefticon which just melted in my mouth, never had meat so tender. My colleagues had the Fish Mixed Grill and Monkfish. They were very impressed and said you could tell that the fish was very fresh. The portions are a really good size and are very good value for money. Next time I am in Plymouth I will be coming back. Reading the review below......I understood that the Restaurant specialises in seafood not Greek.
Village Restaurant The – PlymouthThe food here was good, but wouldn't go so far as to say the best in Plymouth. I had the fillet steak which was delicious but other people in my group were disappointed by their choices. They specialise in Greek food but there was no Greek sweet on the menu. It was very busy even though it was a Wednesday night. The decor is odd, the dining experience could be greatly improved if they could modernise it a little. The staff were very good and attentive. The cost of my steak was about £16.00 and bottle of red wine was £13.00, sweets were £4.50.
Village Restaurant The – PlymouthDo not be put off by the outside, as inside you will be able to enjoy 'michelin star' food accompanied by some excellent wines, which are both at reasonable prices. That day we got soaked (Wed 9.7.08) going to an all day conference. The highlight was our first visit to Bistro One. When next visiting Plymouth, I'll be trying other dishes on the menu, even though the beef was as good as one could wish for, cooked to perfection.
Bistro One – PlymouthDon't bother, no food, awful atmosphere, can't keep licensees, 6 new tenants in 4 years
Herbert Hotel The – Plymouth6 of us went to The Leandra on a Sunday evening as a spur of the moment thing, it was difficult finding a restaurant open on Sunday evening! We were very pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent with very attentive and friendly staff, the place had a good atmosphere and was busy. The food was very reasonably priced (I paid £9.99 for 3 courses) and tasty!
Leandra The – PlymouthAfter a few tries at dining here we finally ate with friends last week. We all love good seafood and had the Bistro Seafood Meze which comprised Mussels Oysters, Scallops, marinated Octopus and Squid, Crevettes and Clams. Great value at £36 for two persons washed down with some great Spanish Blanco from Calatayud. We all stayed on to enjoy the puds and cheeses that included, Lemon Sylabub with Sherrry and ginger Biscotti and Lemon and Treacle Tart, lovely they were too. Will return in summer to have a go at Lobster! Can't wait. John and Betty
Bistro One – PlymouthThis new restaurant has recently opened in Crownhill village, transformed from an off licence to a tastefully decorated contemporary restaurant. Extensive menu offering the old favourites plus a selection of chef specialities which are more authentic. Have been 3 times since it opened and not had a bad meal yet, staff are very nice and service is good.
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthWould not recommend, service is slow, management are rude. Over priced drinks leave you looking for another venue. Would rather eat takeaway than wait 50 minute for a simple meal.
The Berkeley Bar & Grill – PlymouthMy boyfriend and I had a lovely meal at Kitley, we took advantage of their reduced rate if you book a table on their website (£5.00 off per person!). The service was brilliant and the food was great for a special occasion! As a venue for a romantic meal it could not be faulted.
Kitley House Restaurant – PlymouthLunch Menu: 2 courses, £17.95; 3 courses, £19.95. Available Wed-Sun, 12pm-1.45pm.
