Mutley Spice – PlymouthI was in Nibana Indian Restaurant over this Easter weekend. I was been told by my hotel that it’s nice restaurant. But I wouldn’t suggest any one to go there. As being an Indian I knew from my first bite that food is with too much of colouring and not right taste. On complain to Manager I wasn’t treated very nicely and been told that we made food here only for WHITE PEOPLE. That shock me a lot because I believe that we all should have right to have know the originality of what we eat. -Tzar
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthThere are lots of indifferent and often pricey restaurants in Plymouth but the general standard and feel is so disappointing that it is often very difficult to work up the enthusiasm to eat out at all. platters is the exception that proves the rule. perfect and fresh fish virtually straight off the quay, simple excellent cooking, good value consistency and perhaps , just, most important at all a wonderful bustling friendly unpretentious environment where you cannot but feel instantly at home. No need for a tie (or collar) and nothing precious or grand. This is the perfect local good food cafe/bistro you could dream of.
Platters – Plymouthwent to Fishbones Monday 6th April. server was very helpful, funny went out of er way to give a good customer service. The food was delicious, but plates so full we couldn't manage a dessert. we both had soup starters, served in a bread roll! i had lamb shank, meat fell off the bone, served with sweet potato mash, bit too rich so i left some. partner had mixed grill, was huge! they do a mixed grill for 2 people but quite frankly this was big enough for 2! and we are not small eaters. drinks bit dear, but overall great experience, would recommend
Fishbone Restaurant and Bar – PlymouthI would agree with the previous recommendations, offering good value pub food, a lovely cosy pub though by the waters edge. Love the new theme they have, each corner is a different type of seating, either cosy or more formal, or good for a large group. Thought it was very well decorated. Nice pub too for an afternoon drink with light bites.
Lockyers Quay – PlymouthI have just got back from the worst sit down curry i have ever experienced in my life! It was in the Mutley Spice. The coke i received tasted cheap , nasty and flat, the replacement they gave us was slightly more fizzy but this was due to them adding lemonade to it that wasn't flat! UNBELIEVABLE! The mango chutney was very watered down (no doubt to cut costs), the garlic chicken massala sauce was very watery and tasted flavourless and cheap and there was only one bit of fresh garlic in the whole sauce and that was practically raw when i bit into it! Tesco value massala sauce is more flavoursome than what they dished up! and the chicken tasted stodgy and needed a chainsaw to cut through it! All in all a thoroughly disappointing curry that shows all the signs of cost cutting and disregard of fresh ingredients and to top it off the waiter service was very poor showing a complete lack of people skills with her bad attitude and poor attention to detail. I will definitely be warning all my friends not to eat in this curry house!
Mutley Spice – PlymouthSimply fantastic value and fantastic food. I love the fish finger sandwiches, which are divine. Everything I have ever eaten there has been great tasting fresh food. The best place to eat lunch in Plymouth.
Montys – PlymouthExcellent,Amazing. The best burgers in the world.
Hang Ten – PlymouthAbsoulutely brilliant. You just can't beat it. GO HERE!
Hang Ten – PlymouthWe had been to the Nibana a few weeks ago, (10 of us) could not fault it. We went again last night (Saturday). Booked a table for 2 for 7.30, by 8.30 we were told that the table we were on, was booked for 8.30 by some one else,so could you eat up and leave. The service had been rushed all night. I also noticed in the few weeks since we had been in the restaurant they had put in more tables & chairs. Getting a bit greedy.
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthGreat food, reasonable price and friendly service
Mutley Spice – PlymouthWe spent a very enjoyable lunchtime at The Barbican Kitchen yesterday. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. They offer an express menu for £8.99 for 2 courses/ £9.99 for 3 courses or a more extensive menu if you are not as price or time conscious. I tried the tagliatelle for the main course with creme brulee for dessert and everything was delicious. We will thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Barbican Kitchen – PlymouthGreat food, especially the burger and the spicy chicken, shame the drink prices are so steep.
Blues Bar and Grill – Plymouththis is the most amazing cantonese meal i ever had in England it come so close to Hong Kong standard.
The Noodle Lounge – Plymouthwell after eating here, both myself was feeling sick and my partner was up all night being sick, and no we did'nt go on the piss up after the meal, we went home. We won't be eating there again that's for sure!
Spice Well – PlymouthAte last night, great setting (despite price tags on everything) and friendly staff. Unfortunately heating had broken which wasn't ideal in January! Food was very good, however Tagines were small in size, and don't think the 6 Mezzes would be enough for two. Bit expensive for amount, and extra for pitta, no starters/dips and expensive mint tea. Overall o.k. but could do a lot better.
I Recommend The Eastern Eye 100% It Has Great Service And Unbelievable Meals. They Have Poppadoms And Dips At The Start And Give You A Large Meal, Then Offer Delightful Dessert Selections, Then Free Sambuca And Tia Maria To End. With Mints. Although Not The Cheapest Of Places It Is Highly Recommended And Ideal For A Large Social Event Or A Small Meal. Service Is The Best I Have Ever Had, So When Looking For A Place To Eat Go To The Eastern Eye!
Eastern Eye – PlymouthHighly recommended!!!! Platters food is always excellent, so much choice (if you like fish!).... The platter of fish is excellent, and more chips than you know what to do with! As for the takeaway, best fish'n'chips in town... no chicken though...shame!
