a really good meal, only next time i'd avoid the anglicised 'starters' and go for the pure japanese. my wasabi steak was excellent though, i even managed to eat it with chopsticks! great atmosphere, good value

Yukisan – Plymouthwe had an excellent meal, again, this time with kids and their grandparents. all enjoyed the food and no-one chose from the traditional menu. how authentic it's hard to say, but if you're bored of the usual indian this is the place to try. modern decor too
Cafe Indiya – PlymouthThis has to be the most exciting restaurant in Plymouth, the food is superb, fresh, flavourful and light, none of this thick heavy over MSGd kind of thing. Pure flavours, I had the seabass, it was stunning. I have been back since and tried the sashimi ans sushi as well as yakatori. Cannot fault it. well done. NB whenever I have been there has been a lot of Japanese eating here, that must say something.
Yukisan – PlymouthExcellent service, very quick and friendly. Fresh hot food. Great live music in relaxed atmosphere- Tues night. Will go back!
Blues Bar and Grill – Plymouthreally good coffee, relaxed place, not too pricey, friendly staff
Montys – PlymouthWe dined here recently during the week expecting it to be quite quiet, what a surprise to find the place buzzing, a real mixture of people, some post cinema some looked like they were having a dinner party at home. We were immediately lifted by the atmosphere and quickly got the wine ordered, I really fancied a good bottle and Charlotte recommended a top Australian from the bin end racks, it arrived properly decanted and complete with two awesome glasses. Food wise we both ordered Scallops in Bacon, a massive portion of beautifully cooked scallops arrived with crusty bread. We had to leave some to make room for our mains, I ordered the mildly spiced Indian Lamb with mash, again the portion huge and very good too, my partner opted for the smoked chicken dish which she loved. We had a great night, will definitely go again and recommend it.
Bistro One – Plymouthgo you will love it!
Blues Bar and Grill – PlymouthA few of our friends go to the Eastern Eye on a regular basis, it is the best restaurant so far in the Plymouth area. We love the service provided by all staff, especially Kalam, who is the most sexiest waiter in town. His generosity is outstanding and the entertainment is always a bonus.
Eastern Eye – PlymouthI have to confess to being a bit of a Bistro One regular, and can recommend all their offerings ranging from their excellent English Breakfast to their varied dinner menu which features the best of local produce. Don't come here if you want flash surroundings, crisp linen and stuffy waiters, but DO come here for outstanding food and service at a sensible price!
Bistro One – PlymouthWe always get a warm welcome from the friendly, knowledgeable staff, whether we last visited a month or a year ago! Great menu - too much to choose from! - and a relaxed atmosphere. The best curry house in Plymouth - very highly recommended.
Eastern Eye – PlymouthFound Chandlers on here and thought it looked interesting - so glad we did! Excellent food, a superb location (the view would have been better if it hadn't been obscured by liquid sunshine!), great service and a bill at the end of it that left me smiling. A treat for the taste buds, the eyes and the wallet - oh and the feet will appreciate it too with parking right outside. All in all one of the more enjoyable culinary experiences we've had in Plymouth recently
Chandlers Bar and Bistro – PlymouthExcellent food, good wine, creative cooking. But the location is not at all central, and the deco is just bad taste: plastic and DIY. A place serving original food and wine should have a matching interior.
Bistro One – PlymouthI had a very good time there, food was superb, Iqbal was extremely helpful...Top guy! Knows his stuff... I would recommend anyone to go there...bite pricey, but it was definitely worth it! 10/10 from me...
Eastern Eye – PlymouthA true Bistro. Plenty of local produce cooked simply and well. Seafood we had on our table included Oysters, Mussels, Clams and Scallops all presented with panache. Brilliant cheeses! Top house wines from wine districts new to me. But what we really liked was the "keep it simple" flag they are waiving. I must go back for a breakfast very soon.
Bistro One – PlymouthI love this place. My hubby and I are regulars; we always arrive at 6pm, no reservation, spur of the moment, and are treated like friends. The food is awesome, I? veggie, but have as much choice as my non veggie hubby. Try the shared veggie starter, its THE BEST! You wont be disappointed..
Thai House The – PlymouthWhen we get a chance to visit family in Plymouth we always stop here. It is modern, full of ambiance and the food is great. We have never been disappointed, my family go there regularly and rave about it! And they are in the restaurant business themselves with a rosette for their food. FAB!
Cafe Indiya – PlymouthChandlers has something to offer everybody from tapas to burgers, to a full a la carte menu, which makes it a great place to eat with a group of friends. A fine choice of quality wines, beers and spirits and its superb location complete the experience.
Chandlers Bar and Bistro – PlymouthMy wife and I spent a very enjoyable evening here for our 15th wedding anniversary, the staff went to an extra special effort to make the evening memorable for us, a personal touch that really made the evening special.
Chandlers Bar and Bistro – PlymouthLunch Menu: 2 courses, £17.95; 3 courses, £19.95. Available Wed-Sun, 12pm-1.45pm.
