They serve the best Indian food in Plymouth!
Cafe Indiya – PlymouthThe food is always great when we go here. The ribs for starters and the King prawns are a must have! Fajitas are fantasic too. Whatever you choose you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to book at weekends!
Arribas – PlymouthMy husband had never tried Japanese food before and as I had lived in Japan a few years ago, I wanted to introduce him to the cuisine. We were quickly greeted and seated, and drinks arrived almost as soon as we ordered. The menu was clear and the choice of food was varied - yakitori, sushi, sashimi, etc... We chose a variety of dishes - all of them were cooked fresh and the presentation was excellent - and for someone who is fussy, my other half loved all of the food! Although not the same as I remembered, the food was excellent and had not been "anglified" at all. My only concern was that the only Japanese beer available was Kirin Beer, and that 180ml of Saki was £6. The evening out was a touch more expensive than we would usually pay, but we will go again and recommend to anyone!
Yukisan – PlymouthI came here a long time ago, when it was a dark and dingy pub/restaurant. Looking for somewhere 'nice' but informal with a memorable setting for my guests to eat, decided to try the Dolphin as I'd overheard favourable comment. First impressions were -wow - Lightly illuminated with a lot of pale timber and slate floors - it was a vibrant and dynamic environment. We had to work hard to find a seat (having not booked) but found a large adult sized solid timber table. It felt like home. Food was well presented and bang up to date. I have no hesitation in making a return trip.
Dolphin Inn – PlymouthI really enjoyed going to this restaurant. The menu was very extensive, particularly for pasta. They also offer a wide-range of food from the grill, just incase you aren't a fan of pizza or pasta. It can get very busy though, so book in advance
Pasta and Pizza Bar – PlymouthThis restaurant is fabulous! The staff are really friendly and were so quick to help. Make sure you order the Crystal Dragon platter to start - it's gorgeous!
Crystal Dragon – PlymouthThe food here is marvelous, deliciously home-cooked and at very affordable prices. The menu itself is quite small, however they have daily specials on the chalk board to suit all tastes (lamb tagine, fish pie, hotpot etc), and are all keenly priced. The cod, chips and mushy peas is huge and costs less than £6!
Boringdon Arms – PlymouthWhat can I say? The family and I went, very good food, the staff are very friendly I can? say anymore. Alan Parker
Mutley Spice – PlymouthIt? hard to believe that anywhere outside of Thailand can offer such incredibly delicious food accompanied by a genuine friendly service. It puts all the other Thai restaurants I have tried to shame.
Thai House The – PlymouthThis restaurant was very lively. Food was of high quality and service was really good. I was impressed with the menu that was a diverse "TEX MEX" selection. My personal opinion is that the menu was superb a must visit!
Arribas – PlymouthSuperb food served in a friendly efficient manner. Have been now several times and will go again
Clarence Hotel The – PlymouthIf you want chinese food then definately come here. There are lots of good value set menus to choose from, delicious dishes served sizzling hot. Its a great place to go when you fancy something nice to eat whilst shopping in town. If you are more adventurous then you could ask for the chinese menu which I'm sure one of the staff could help recommend something to tantalise you tastebuds. It also seems popular with the oriental community too and they love their food!
Ocean Palace – PlymouthThis is one superb little Thai restaurant. It did not take too long before the food arrived and when it did, it was delicious. They have such a good menu its hard to decide. If you like fish then go for the whole thai fish dish, it was so tasty and disappeared very quickly. Its a small restaurant so booking is advised. We went as a four but its ideal to go as a couple as its cosy and warm.
Thai House The – PlymouthVegetarians and vegans alike will be spoilt for choice here. In fact, when in Plymouth, I never eat anywhere else. The food is imaginative and beautifully prepared and I am gradually working my way through the menu! Unmissable, in my opinion.
Veggie Perrins – PlymouthThis little place has plenty of character and is tuckedaway in the Barbican. I thought the food was really tasty for an indian meal without it being your usual overpowering tastebud destroying curry. They know how to make their curries a little more refined. The portions were just right and the some of the staff were shy but friendly non the less. I swear I saw a Sherpa lurking around when I was in there last. Go here if you fancy going out for dinner with friends where you can hear yourselves talk.
Himalayan Spice – PlymouthYou have to go!! even got to see James Tanner himself, in the flesh!! that besides, the food is always fab, and service attentive, We sat in the courtyard at lunch, and not even the rain could dampen our spirits! The puddings are to die for!! especially the chocolate mousse...mmmmmm!
Tanners Restaurant – PlymouthThe service here is always excellent. The food is good too. Worth a visit
Eastern Eye – PlymouthVery good food and serivce and amazingly cheap. Makes a good change from convential Indian Food. The jokey name of the restaurant sadly doesn't do it justice. It's much much better than it sounds.
