Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.
Our first visit and we were amazed by the food including flavours and presentation. The venue was really nice too. The front of house service, however, was very slow. We waited a long time for drinks and someone to come and take orders etc. 1 hour 40 mins for a single course lunch seemed excessive but we weren’t in a rush so didn’t really matter. Will definitely be going back just hopefully the service will be a little smoother

Bread and Butter – Preston3 of us went for brunch having a selection of food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to dine at our own pace . I have marked the Atmosphere down slightly simply because we found the front conservatory, where we sat, a little noisy.
Maxy Farm Pantry & Restaurant – PrestonMy sister recommended Sunday lunch here, saying it’s the best she’s ever had. It must be popular because we could only book for 6pm. We had the lamb shoulder and the belly pork and both were exceptional. Really flavoursome and savoury. The accompanying veg were delicious too. I especially loved the buttered greens. A bit of crackling might have been nice with the pork belly though. I wish we had room for dessert! We hope to return very soon.

Bread and Butter – PrestonWent for a family Sunday lunch. Great choice of Sunday roasts as was the usual menu. Roasts, cheese pie and trio of pork burger were great hits. My son picked from the kids menu for both main and dessert. He is 10 and portions were very good and he left full. Issue from the kitchen meant the burger was delayed but staff sorted and were very kind.
The Ribchester Arms – PrestonAnother fabulous lunch yesterday at B&B. Four of us ordering four different dishes that looked like they had come direct from a glossy magazine, it was a real shame to eat it, but still delicious. This is the go to place in Preston!
