Excellent sunday lunch yesterday! The beef was just right.
Plungington Hotel – Preston
Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.
Excellent sunday lunch yesterday! The beef was just right.
Plungington Hotel – PrestonFirst time at East z East following a suggestion from friends. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a cuisine very different to what's on offer at the usual Indian haunts. This offered a refreshing change, however if you want a typical English curry they do that too - and very well. Personally for me though it's all about the meats here - we had the mixed grill accompanied by the most tasteful selection of fresh dips which were a restaurant speciality. So good - try the hot mint yoghurt or the plum chutney ! Naan breads the size of tables and melt in the mouth paratha all cooked to perfection. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff rounded off a perfect evening nicely. What more do you want ? Give it a try. Warmly recommended...
East Z East – PrestonWe visited today with a client and the food from the set menu was amazing. The chicken wings was to die for and the spicy shredded chicken reminded me of authentic Chinese restaurants. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Five star service all round from start to finish. Will definitely be re visiting in my free time. Thank you for an excellent experience.
Azuma – PrestonWe enjoyed a very special two course lunch last week. one of our favourite Italians!
Italian Orchard – Preston. Tried to book online but was completely booked up all weekend. Did a 'walk in' around 1.30pm and got a table straight away as there'd been some 'no shows'. They've done a fantastic job of the building and decor, the balcony on the back will be fantastic on a sunny evening, outside seating on the front of the building too. Staff were great, very attentive, ordered from the prix fixe menu, 2 courses for £11.95. Had chicken liver parfait followed by beef bourguignon. Food was lovely and the wine was average restaurant price but they do wine in 175, 250, 500 & 750ml, don't see 500ml offered in many places. You can also go in for just drinks but. Highly recommended on 1st visit, would definitely go again!
Bistrot Pierre – PrestonLooks like this place is under new ownership and has closed for a refurb for a few months.
Ye Horns Inn – PrestonA real gem of a place. Artisan coffee with quality and healthy food options. An ethical cafe with a very friendly young team and owner. If you love top end coffee, go there!
Town House Coffee & Brew Bar – PrestonWent for dinner at the (new look) Italian Orchard last Sunday and was very impressed. They have revamped the entrance and bar area and with the open fire it’s a great spot to sit and peruse the menus (and peruse them you need to). The specials are just as extensive as the main a la carte and if you’re into your wine there’s loads of (all-Italian) bottles to choose from. I had the Pasta Rustica and my wife the Stroganoff and both thoroughly enjoyed. Great atmosphere as always and a pianist playing. Worth the journey.
Italian Orchard – PrestonLoved our food and the place. A cool restaurant to go in Preston though we are from Lytham. Will definitely go back!
We Don’t Give A Fork – PrestonOne of my all time favourite places. Old fashioned in a good way. Best duck in the UK I'm sure. Now has a brewery and great beer too!
Ye Horns Inn – PrestonBrilliant food and prosecco . Customer service excellent!
Slice of Sicily in Fulwood – PrestonBest Italian! Molto buono grazie!
Italian Orchard – PrestonThis restaurant is fabulous it’s our little secrecy hideaway The 2 course menu is superb the salt/pepper calimari and sea bass main are our particular favourites and excellent value The staff are very courteous I was very angry by the comment below obviously froma jelous competitor In a way I’m loathed to give a good review as it may spoil it for us but We should give good praise when it’s the truth
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonThe worst place to go for shisha and food, a headache that lasted days and the food made me sick. Preston Council produce extensive documents for illegal shisha lounges but allow this to go through?
Smoke and Grill – PrestonThe Boars Head has had a refurb and looks great! A great dining pub near Preston, Bolton and Chorley.
Boars Head – PrestonHaving read the derisory report on this restaurant by "c" I felt compelled to write a rebuttal, an drateful thanks he doesn't live in the area. He clearly wouldn't recognise good wholesome food if it jumped out of the pan and smacked him on the nose. This restaurant visited for the first time since re-opening as The Silk Route is a quality place. Great friendly staff, an ample varied menu, and thechef can make anything a customer wants, So "c" if you want the usual tat,of burgers, weird chicken or wispy washy fish and chips just go there, seems more like your style, and leave the classier places to those who know, are prepared to enjoy and pay for good food, service and ambience. A rare thing in Corbyns Weary World sadly but we will see more when we leave that awful set of demented money grabbing thieves in Bruxelles. Keep going down the Silk Road, they know how to do it.
The Silk Route – PrestonGotta love this place...been coming here since it opened in 1985 ?? Italian food at its best! Bon apetito X
Italian Orchard – PrestonA while since I’ve been here and it just seems to keep growing and growing. The food hall is fab with an interesting wine shop whilst upstairs there is furniture and clothes leading across to the restaurant. We only dropped in for a coffee on a Saturday morning but it was very pleasant with some big leather sofas to sink into. Have to say though I was very surprised at the number of people here eating breakfast at 11am. Not bleary-eyed students after a night out but middle-aged and elderly couples!
