Great home made food and friendly staff will definitely be visiting again soon.
The Derby Arms – Preston
Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.
Great home made food and friendly staff will definitely be visiting again soon.
The Derby Arms – PrestonWoW a place to visit , We fell on this place on google and I was so happy we decided to go The full package from start to finish what can I say ? Only You must go and see for your self strongly recommend 10/10 for everything.
Angels – PrestonMy husband and I have always had a beautiful meal at the Willows restaurant at Barton Grange. We have eaten there many times and it as always been lovely, also it is nice to get food that is cooked well using local produce.
Willows Restaurant @ Barton Grange Garden Centre – PrestonThe Sherwood in Preston Is the worst pub we have ever been in.The rudeness started within a few mins of walking in the door, we committed the (apparently) cardinal sin of sitting in the "adult only" area they claim they have to keep by law???The manager very rudly asked us to move and when we asked if there were other tables with a bench was very sarcastic. We should have left but not knowing the area and hunger got the better of us. We found other seating and ordered, again the manager was rude and obnoxious and was clearly put out when I asked if the mash had dairy due to my kids dairy allergy. (To the point of ignoring the next few items of the order because he was huffing and rolling his eyes, so I had to repeat it)The other staff were slightly better, but not much. One ignored me while I was attempting to order desert and carried on her conversation. The food was ok but we will never go back there and have told friends who were considering it not to bother, I was looking on review sites to find a good indian locally and wish I had checked before visiting the Sherwood because 70 of them are from people who had similar experiences to ours. I have added mine to the chorus!
The Sherwood – PrestonWent to Bukhara for a friends birthday meal and I was left traumatised. I found a huge dead wasp in a dish. I was in shock and hurry and more than anything disgusted. Went I talked the manger he simply replied saying "listen yeah it fell in the dish from my journey to the kitchen to your table" um no it was at the bottom of the dish don't try to justify it with that excuse. Did not even have the decency to say sorry. Absoloutely disgusted. Never again.
Bukhara – PrestonThis place has always been superb, we always have our "special" birthdays there and having just booked a table for 11 for next Saturday....can't wait! If you moan about this place, you must have been born moaning!!!
The Cottage 1771 – PrestonThis pub changed management a year or two ago. They're somehow connected to the Ram's Head in Longton and the Dolphin (Flying Fish) also in Longton. My Wife and I turned up there early one Saturday evening in June and although we hadn't booked, we were show to a table near the bar which was fine. We're difficult customers in most places being vegetarians and although the menu didn't have a huge choice for us, there were some suitable choices. Strangely, the Salad menu had no vegetarian options. My wife asked whether the Ploughman's were pre-prepared with meat on. The manager said not but that it had so many meat items with it that the meal would be a pale version if these were omitted. He made a recommendation which was excellent. All the staff were very attentive and the manager said that menu options may be reviewed in the future. We've eaten here twice under this management and have booked a table for ourselves and a friend for this evening.I should mention that portions are large, quality is good yet cost is reasonable.(that's three ticks in my book)
The Village Inn – PrestonCalled up to see if they were still unlicensed and had the phone put down on me! Charming.
The Cottage 1771 – PrestonI went last week and believe me it will me the LAST time i go, after being spoken to like a idiot by a man who i understood was called Leeroy. He took our order by shouting from across the "restaurant". he then cooked it himself while filling the place up with smoke and filling the street outside with smoke, somehow! food had clearly been frozen (maybe multipul times). I was vomitting 8 hours after into the night. Disgusting food, awful service and in general foul!
Stickychops Restaurant – Prestondont eat here!! the environmental health have been here because of the rodent problem but it is not the cleanliness that's the problem but the lack of ethical practice. the chicken if you ate it was probably left out overnight to defrost where the mice can get to it then their faeces picked off and served up to customers !! how do iknow well lets just say i have seen the evidence. i want to make this clear this is not the fault of the normal staff they are all conscientious good people and even the owners do not know how long this has been going on but it is and it still does probably because the staff who know are told to keep thier mouths shut. its a shame as someone will get seriously ill one day and the decent staff will lose out so will the owners all because of one person who is more worried about being found out than the health of the public
The Italian Orchard is one of my wife's absolute favourite restaurants and so we try and get here as often as possible. We jumped at the chance to bring our ten year old daughter for her birthday yesterday! The weather was aweful but once we arrived nobody even noticed. The food was excellent, the ambiance was as always relaxed and unobtrusive and the service was very good. I don't know of anywhere else you might go on a Tuesday lunchtime and get a live pianist!! Very highly recommended!!
Italian Orchard – PrestonThis country pub near Beacon Fell is full of character and I love the fact that you can sit either n front of or behind the bar (hard to explain unless you visit for yourself). A nice meal as always and left with a Lancashire cheese bomb and a brace of pheasants under my arm.
Ye Horns Inn – PrestonMy first visit to Shaman was a wonderful experience, excellent food excellent service and excellent value for money, can't wait to treat my husband to meal there in the near future .
The Shampan – PrestonVery small, very friendly, 100 volunteer run ethical, green, environmental vegetarian cafe. *****star hygiene award. Free internet access if you purchase a drink. Absolutely delicious hummus and salad sandwiches. I've never yet been when it's been empty, and there is always someone interesting to talk to if you fancy a discussion over lunch.
Beautiful Planet – PrestonOur latest visit was Valentines Day if a restuaurant can get right on such a special occassion then other nights are a doddle, we were not disappointed. Excellent service and very attentive staff, not overpowering but there when you need them. The food was of the highest quality and the atmoshere just perfect already looking forward to our next visit.
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonWell, we went to Thyme after hearing good things -never again I'm sorry to say. Don't get me wrong, the service was reasonably good but the portions were miniscule for the prices and my venison was totally coated on the underside by the white sinew/skin all along which made it impossible to cut through with even a steak knife, 2 fork sized bites was all I was able to retrieve by scraping at the other surface with a fork to get shreds of meat off!!!. By the end of the evening, the staff were more interested in clearing up and getting home than the 3 remaining clients and it took 25 minutes to even get a dessert menu when there was only 3 tables in -sorry, thanks, but no thanks
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonI proposed to my fiancée in Tino's in early December 2012. As I was nervous about the night going well, I had spoken with the manageress in advance and she certainly ensured a perfect night. The staff are possibly the nicest I have experienced in any restaurant and the food was delicious. Next time we are in Preston, we will certainly be paying a visit back to Tino's
Tinos – PrestonFriendly and special. My favourite watering hole in Preston. Wonderful selection of Teas. I try a different one each time and have not been disappointed yet. Everyone should try it. I have recommended it to anyone who likes Tea. Its worth the little walk down Cannon Street.
