What a find! - fantastic food, excellent service. The 2 course menu is excellent value for money, and the Specials Board is very good too. The staff were very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. We were part of a large group - service was slick yet not rushed. We would highly recommend Checcos to anyone.

Always a lovely welcome from Dot and staff, best food in Lancashire, Paul first class chef, lots of variety, cooked to perfection. Have missed visiting while refurbishment, looking forward to opening in February....Would recommend any one to visit for a really good meal.

We visited Angels on New Year's Day and had a fabulous meal. There were 14 of us as well as a young baby and the attention we received from the staff was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the quality of food was amazing, especially considering the size of our party. I would recommend Angels to anybody. Thank you to all the staff who made our New Year very special.

ABSOLUTUELY gorgeous food, menu choices and good drinks selection. Nice to see so many drinks on draught. Recommend the Nepali - my boyf had it and we are going tonight and I will be ordering that. The sizzling tikka platter also great though Nepali had the edge. 110% yummi. Good service and nice ambience in the restaurant. A hidden jewel and better than the rest in the locality and further afield no doubt about it. Dee-licious.

Just enjoyed an excellent work Christmas lunch, 3 courses for £15.50. All the food was excellent , beautifully presented. Service was attentive. Our party of 18 highly recommend this venue and look forward to visiting again the future

Party of 20 just before Xmas 2008. Food brilliant, not your usual fast food pub food. Worth the slightly expensive price tag to get a meal you enjoy in a good atmosphere. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We are all going back for more in Dec 2009.

I booked a table for our Writers Inc. Christmas social and we enjoyed our evening there last night. It was superb, efficient,polite and attentive waiters/waitresses without them being intrusive. Food at exactly the right temperature, cooked to perfection.Beautifully presented and reasonably/sensibly priced for a restaurant of such a classy calibre. I would definitely go there again and would highly recommend a visit to the most discernible 'foodie'. The tables were nicely set,pristine and the atmosphere was vibrant but, not noisy.

Enjoyed my lunch in this country pub nr Preston. It had wifi as well so i managed to get some work done too!

Fabulous fresh food.

We had a classy meal at the Continental. The Ham Hock salad and the chicken livers with poached egg and black pudding were amazing and filling but I hate having to pay extra for veg with main course. Fish is cooked beautifully, Chips are excellent, new potatoes also buttery. The desserts are divine but need more sauce and more ice cream . Service could have been better .Well definitely be back . Best location in area and best beer

Enjoyed a very good lunch in the newly refurbed Angelos before embarking on Christmas shopping. I had Saffron Salmon Ravioli and my missus the spicy pasta. Interesting new menu with non Italian options too. The refurb is modern and slick without being too contemporary. impressed!

Incredible tea shop with the best range of teas I have ever seen or tasted!, try the Yerba Mate for an Argentinian pick me up or the Milk oolong for something truly unique. Great service and great place to relax !

i've lived in Preston for 45 years, and can see it for what it is, - not a city but a dirty, dying town. what it has done to deserve a gem like this is beyond me. the young polish staff are a credit to their parents, it's just a pity that the staff who normally work in the service industry aren't as pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable.... give it a go and you'll run out of superlatives. didn't try the food, but if you can convince yourself to try something other than a cup of nescafe or builders tea, you will be hooked. the decor and cleanliness of the cafe is second to none wishing them all the best for the future, they deserve to succeed john

Quite simply, this place is a hidden gem. The staff are wonderful and helpful, and the tea selection is out of this world. After coming out of there, you feel so relaxed and calm. Amazing, simply amazing.

After goodness knows how many fantastic meals at both POND & DUK thought it about time I write a review! My friend and I had a delicious lunch yesterday and her very specific dietary requirements were met without a hint of inconvenience. As always the food was divine, service exceptional, wonderful ambience and very reasonable bill. Everything is always perfect, just too hard to chose from the huge and varied menu. What I really love about it is that day or night, summer winter, shopping, business or pleasure it's just right - not many places master this but POND never disappoints whatever the occasion! Just booked for our xmas do and can't wait!!!
