Huge change from the old whitchaff! You wouldn’t recognise it.. the food was excellent but few vegetarian/vegan choices.. it has a good atmosphere and staff were attentive and friendly. Reasonable value as well. We would recommend the whitchaff to freinds and family.

Just one small negative which was the talking point after the meal. We were rushed off our table by a quite rude waitress, this after you made us wait 20-30 mins for our table in the first place! Disappointing end to a wonderful meal!
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallSadly the service let this place down. The food was good but an hour and 10 mins wait on food is a bit excessive, especially with a 7 year old. The front of house staff couldn’t have been more apologetic but there was nothing coming out of the kitchen quick enough. We were not the only table complaining! This is the second time my partner had visited since the upgrade and he had the same experience first time round.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallThe food was good, the staff were very friendly but our order wasn't taken for a good twenty minutes and we weren't told that the Sunday lunchtime booking was an hour and a half per table until we were too slow choosing a dessert. If we had chosen to have starters, I don't think we could have been served and eaten 3 courses in the time allowed.

Had just finished our meals when a member of staff approached telling us we had to leave in 15 mins because they needed the table. Wouldn't mind but we booked for 12.45 and it said we had two hours, yet were asked to leave no later than 2.15? Friend also found two hairs in her pasta. Wouldn't recommend. Shame it used to be fab.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallThis place is wonderful. We have eaten here many times - an accolade in itself. What prompted me to write this review was last nights visit. We were short on time - had about 30 mins between and appointment and needing to be in the car to the next. I’m that time they turned around 8 delicious plates for the 2 of us and drinks - the service was the usual exceptional standard as always very personable.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallArrived and was promptly seated , served for drinks then waited about 25 mins for order to be taken, another 35-40 mins for the food by which time the kids were grumpy and starving, it was a 1st time back since the refurb and just felt too open , food came out after asking how long and was ok , lots of friends have had great food here, maybe it was an off night wasn’t overly busy and it was also a birthday meal so left feeling a tad deflated , hopefully it was just an off night

We had a selection of dishes and enjoyed all of them ,as they were beautifully presented, full of flavour and delicious as always when we dine here. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is great. As we live locally, we appreciate being able to access such quality food and surroundings within a 2 mile drive.
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallI honestly can’t believe the transformation Paul, it’s fantastic team of made in The Whitchaff!! I have lived round here for 20 years and it’s always been one of our family favourites due to the food. It’s always been a “nice pub” but the transformation has absolutely blown us away!!! You could be in a gastro pub in rural Cheshire but at a fraction of the price. The service, food and overall experience will 10/10!!! Well done to the management as this is a true diamond in Rawtenstall
