We were invited to a wedding here on Sunday just gone. Very impressive venue, welcoming staff, good food. I would recommend visiting to anyone. The breakfast was awesome! There are large birds of prey outside too, something a bit different. The whole wedding day was pretty perfect, we will definitely be going again for a weekend away.

I recently attended a wedding at Peckforton Castle and thought the food was dreadful. I was astounded to find out the food and drinks package was £100 per guest. For that I got:
* the worst, dish-water tasting soup I have ever tasted
* a stodgy, tasteless vegetarian stew (which seemed to consist of carrots, some dumpling and some pale-looking tasteless "gloop"
* a bowl of strawberries and cream
* approx 1-2 glasses of very average wine.
The Marks and Spencer Dine In for £10 is much tastier and filling than the food served here.
What's more the staff who were waiting on the tables didn't seem ot have much of a clue about what they were doing.
In the evening there was a very small buffet, mainly a few wraps, some chicken legs and some potato wedges.
I understand the new owners have made some improvements to the activities on offer and the interior of the castle, but they could do with providing some training to their staff on customer service. In fact, when we raised some of our concerns with management we also found them very lacking in customer service too.

Recently had a fantastic stay at this stunning venue with 5 of my family members. 3 of us also did the Falconry which was amazing. Food in the 1851 Restaurant was fantastic! Will be back many more times in the future!

I would hardly say this is a recommendation. We had our work Xmas meal at Peckforton Castle last Saturday 13th December. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had and all the staff felt likewise. The only choice of starter, the vegetable broth was like dirty dish water and tasteless with just a few bits of carrots and rice grains floating about in it. The vegetarian main, mushroom risotto had about 2 bits of mushroom and tasted like overcooked rice in milk. This for £42.50 per head is a joke!!! We were shunted around from bar to bar, seemingly to get out of everyone else's way and packed in round the tables like sardines. The only saving grace was the jester. Never again.

This is a small restaurant in gorgeous surroundings. staff are not impolite but they seem not to care about making you feel comfortable or special something just seems to be missing. the food itself(I had the steak) was delicious but eat before you go as portions are small and expensive ,but we had snacks as well from the cellar bar which is casual dining but better value and gorgeous thick chips

For all those who visited the Castle under it's previous owners and have decided to not go back (I don't blame you I used to work there I know exactly how bad it was!) Do go back. Under the new owners the Naylors, it has come on leaps and Bounds. I will definitely be going back, not as staff but as a customer time and time again something I never saw happening.
