Wish I’d never booked this restaurant.
If I could give a zero rating I would.
Booked a table for our Silver Wedding Anniversary months in advance. Turned up on the day to find the restaurant was closed due to electrical problems. We had received a booking confirmation the day before but no notification of the closure, even though I had supplied my mobile number and email when booking. I had to actively chase up the manager to complain (even though I had sent two emails and left a verbal message message). Eventually was told we could have a free meal. Had already explained that we live several hundred miles away and this visit to York was a one off. My only regret is that I booked this restaurant in the first place when there are so many other great alternatives in York.

Very friendly staff and did not have to wait long. Food was delicious and good value for money. Will visit again next time we are in York.

From a very friendly welcome, attentive (to just right amount) staff, food all served at same time and exactly as described.
Warmed plates. Nicely distanced tables too.
So, particularly keen on dedicated vegan menu, but will return also for service.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening we were given a warm welcome and taken straight to a table. The service was good and the food good value for money. The venue has a calming atmosphere and was most enjoyable.
