We were transit at the national bus station from Edinburgh to Nottingham. It was noon. next bus only start 1hr 30mins time. So hungry, and were looking for halal food. luckily we saw Taste of Persia. Guess what? Food was superb, hot and tasty. I don't find in my country Malaysia. I wish to come back again one day

The restaurant food quality is good. The attitudes of staff are ok. The food is different from what we eat every day, location not really ok, but still an experience worth while you are at Newcastle upon tyne.

I would not recommend this restaurant! We visited on a recommendation and we were very very disapointed, a happy anniversary meal it was not. The staff were non-attentive, verging on ignorant. I ordered the Tzatiki and assumed it was served with bread/pitta etc but I was just given a bowl of dip! The waiter did not think to tell me when I ordered and I had to wait 15 minutes for some pitta to dip otherwise I was given a spoon to eat it. We ordered a lamb and a chicken kebab which were disgusting. It tasted like it had been marinated in urine. We left hungry and disatisfied when the manager didn't even address out complaint, he just shrugged his shoulders!!!

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend and will definitely be going back. The Taste of Persia has an authentic feel about it and has a good choice of starters and mains, I would recommend the flat bread and selection of dips for starters, which were very tasty. For the main course I opted for the Barg which was fillet of lamb, which was succulent and tasted wonderfully char grilled. All the staff were friendly and the price is very reasonable, well worth a visit.

What a restaurant! The food is fantastic and the staff so friendly. You must try the naan bread and aubergine dip 'Mirza Ghasemi' to die for! Other great starters also available (vine leaves, garlic and shallot dips, feta salad etc) For main course the Fesenjan (walnut & pomegranate chicken stew) is gorgeous, and saffron chicken stew equally as good and the rice accompanying each main dish is cooked to perfection every time. Try it with a touch of butter mixed in! The quality of the chicken and lamb fillet (Joojeh and Barg) and the kebabs are out of this world. If you fancy a change from Indian/Chinese/Italian etc. (which I also love!) you must give this place a try. You?l love it!
